Zombie Apocalypse: Creation-Chapter 746: The Virus Origin
"We even captured it on camera... Here, take a look for yourself."
As Tianci took out a laptop, Xiaoyun could see the footage of a man in a lab coat walking into the same room they two stood right now.
The man just took it out and stared at the white vial, making Xiaoyun start to feel a little disgusted as another man was holding a vial containing his liquid.
"Jason, what the hell are you doing?"
The man just continued to stand there, ignoring Tianci's voice as she walked closer and closer to see what the man was holding.
"Hey, put that back... Are you listening to me?"
Seeing negotiation failing, Tianci quickly snapped it out of his hand, finally freeing the man as he looked a little stunned by what had just happened.
"Jason, what the hell had gotten into you? Why are you in this room and staring at this vial?"
"I-I don't know. Something just tells me to come inside and take a look at it... S-Sorry, Chief Scientific Officer."
"Go back home for today."
As the man walked out of the room, the footage ends as Tianci puts the container back into the cabinet.
"This wasn't the only one. I found the same thing in the other room with the red liquid inside the small vial... You get the idea, right?"
"Yeah... So my bodily fluid and the red liquid have a mysterious power to make someone go in and look at it?"
"Mhm. Does this ring any bells inside your head?"
Staring at the footage in silence, Xiaoyun could feel he had seen something similar. But he couldn't pinpoint exactly what it was.
"I only know this after Leyan told me about it over the phone. Do you not remember anything like this?"
"No... Wait, I told this Leyan before?"
"Yep. You told her last year. It's how Mingxu and Jingjing manage to find a... black rock, I think?"
"Right, right, right. The black rock. That thing. I almost completely forgot about that... But is there any relationship outside of attracting people?"
This time, Tianci stared back at Xiaoyun in the eyes with a stone-cold face. Not saying a single word until he started to get a little nervous.
"Why are you looking at me like this?"
"Xiaoyun, you know, right when the outbreak started, there was a big rumor that had spread throughout my workplace before?"
"What is it?"
"The only possible explanation for the zombie virus was... it had come from outside of the earth."
"A lot of people online and even today thought of that too. Not really that surprising a conclusion when no cure seems to be found."
"Yes, but how did the zombie virus manage to enter Earth? There really wasn't any alien sighting when the outbreak happened."
"How am I supposed to know? Why are you looking at me as if I know the answer to that question?"
"Because I think you do know the answer."
After a minute of silence, Xiaoyun let out a small sigh as he looked back at her face, who looked determined to know the answer.
"This is all purely my own speculation based on what I had concluded from the other Xiaoyun's statement... So take it with a grain of salt."
Tianci nodded her head, waiting for him to continue.
"I'm pretty sure the virus came from an asteroid that landed on Earth. I'm not sure when, but it's like ten or twenty years ago."
"How are you so certain about the time being that far back?"
"Because that's when the old man gave me that black rock. Not a small pebble from Mingxu, but a much bigger one, around the size of a fist.
That was the exact thing that changed my body and gave me this brand new ability to replicate everything I had touched in the past.
And based on what Xiaoyun from the other timeline had stated, that was an alien object that had infinite energy."
"Infinite energy?"
As Tianci's face changes, Xiaoyun quickly realizes why her face looks so dismissive of that idea.
"I didn't mean infinite energy. But it's damn near infinite... At least until the other Xiaoyun in the other timeline created a time machine."
"It will be really nice if I could meet the other Xiaoyun instead of you." Tianci quietly murmured as Xiaoyun awkwardly brushed his hair.
"He's long gone at this point. That was the last gift he gave me before he died. And that time machine is now useless."
"That's fine."
The two stood in silence for a second as neither of them had anything to say until Xiaoyun brought something up.
"Ahem, so what do you mean by the worst-case scenario earlier? Is there something wrong with my body?"
"Well, based on everything you had told me. I can conclude your body had been altered away from being a human."
Xiaoyun looked back at her with a poker face, as he long suspected a change, especially when he was being bitten and turned out fine.
"You don't look surprised at all."
"Do you think an average human can have sex with all of you guys nonstop almost every single day?"
Tianci's face blushed a little, but she quickly snapped out of it as she looked back at him with a serious face.
"Okay, maybe it's not the worst case scenario... But still, I'm afraid that one day, your body might turn into this red liquid."
"What?"
As Xiaoyun finally looked to be in complete shock, Tianci let out a small grin before getting ready to reveal the news to him.
"Look, the black rock, the red liquid, and your cells. All of them are so similar that it almost feels like a phase change."
"A phase change?"
"A chemical phase change... Imagine water. It can go from solid like a rock, then to a liquid like a human, and finally a gas like the red liquid."
"Why red liquid as a gas? Doesn't it have liquid in the name?"
Xiaoyun asked his dumb question once again as Tianci rolled her eyes. But this time, she didn't insult him for not knowing.
"It's not an actual liquid. We just haven't named it... The red thing behaves like a liquid but is actually a gas entering into superfluidity."
"Okay. I think I got everything you're trying to tell me... I need to stop using my ability to avoid turning into the red... gas?"
"Technically, yes. But I'm not sure exactly how it works. It might be the opposite, and you need to use it as frequently as possible."
"That sure is helpful, doctor Tianci." Xiaoyun grumpily murmured, realizing now he had new worries that he could do nothing about.
"Hey, I'm just giving you a heads-up... Anyway, be careful letting your blood or your... sperm get into the wrong hands."
"I know. Anything else I need to watch for?"
"As long as it doesn't leave your body or you release it on somebody you... like. It shouldn't have any major consequences."
"Okay... Wait, if I get a paper cut and the blood drops to the floor, would someone eventually be attracted to it?"
"It could, in theory. But I don't think it works that way."
"Why not? Don't tell me it's because of the vial. There's no way a glass vial is the factor that changes someone to be attracted to it."
"I need some further study before I can draw any conclusion. Just avoid having your blood leak out on accident."
"I'll try my best."
As Xiaoyun answered her back, he could notice her face mysteriously blushing for who knows how many times at this point.
"Why are you blushing?"
"N-Nothing."
"Come on, just tell me. Don't hide it from me when I already told you so many things as well."
"Okay, fine. I... I also might have an alternative theory that might be a factor that led to the vial being found."
"What is it?"
"Y-You remember how I-I said I dug the stuff out of m-my..."
Tianci didn't speak up any further, but Xiaoyun didn't need her to clarify this time, as he instantly understood it.
"No wonder. I had spewed so much blood onto the floor in the past, and none of the soldiers ran to it or anything."
"That might explain the attraction part, but it still doesn't explain your similarity to the red liquid and the black stone."
"You aren't wrong, but there's nothing I can do about it... Anyway, next time just ask me for my... cum directly.
Don't be so lazy and dig it out of your body. That just sounds so nasty... And it can introduce a lot of outside factors in your experiment—"
"I don't need you to tell me that!"
"Okay, okay. Geez."
As Tianci yelled back at him out loud, Xiaoyun quickly backed a little to dodge her attempt to kick him on the shin.
"You! Come back!"
"Hell no, I'm outta here... If you don't need me for anything else, I'm going to go back to work!"
Xiaoyun quickly ran away from her evil grasp, going down the hall as she stood by the doorway in frustration.
"Dummy..."
