Zombie Apocalypse: Creation-Chapter 777: Living Liquid
"I did. The fog is just taking some time before it goes away... That’s why I said everything will be fine tomorrow."
As a closed silica flask was lifted out from one of the metal drawers, it floated in the mid-air as Tianci was still invisible.
"You could have told me that rather than just hanging up the phone. You know how scared I got when you did that?"
"I didn’t hang it up on purpose. The phone stopped working completely... You try to take out your phone and make a call."
Xiaoyun quickly took his phone out, only to find it useless as a brick. The phone couldn’t even be turned on to display its battery.
"I was only able to call you when I stepped outside the room. But then I noticed the fog was still spreading within the lab."
"Really? It still kept expanding after you closed the lid?" Xiaoyun questioned as she handed over the flask.
"Yes, really. The area outside the storage room feels heavy, right? I made everyone evacuate the lab for a reason."
"But how about you? Why didn’t you leave with everyone else? Why stay in this room when let the fog by itself?"
"I..."
As the room fell into silence, Xiaoyun’s mind was already starting to develop an answer for it.
"Don’t tell me you’re conducting an experiment on yourself."
"Huh? What makes you think that?" Tianci questioned, her face looking a little surprised by Xiaoyun’s assumption.
"Why else would you open this flask by yourself? There’s no way it’s just an accident when you know how dangerous this stuff can be."
"But I didn’t open it..."
The room once again fell into silence. Although he couldn’t see her face, Xiaoyun could feel that her voice was genuine.
"You really didn’t open it?"
"I was planning to carry it over to the test subject room... If I really want to conduct a test on myself, why would I do it in the storage room?"
"But, how would the flask open on its own? That just doesn’t make any sense. Something must have caused it to open."
Despite standing in front of an invisible figure, Xiaoyun continued to stare down at it, not moving a single inch.
"Tianci, are you really telling the truth?"
"I am. I really didn’t open it—"
Before she could finish her sentence, a human figure finally emerged. Tianci was standing there completely naked, with red dots scattered all over her body.
"She’s not lying. The flask really did open on its own... If it weren’t for me, the flask would have been dropped onto the floor."
As the alternate Tianci came out with her red pupils to testify, Xiaoyun had no choice but to accept it as the truth. 𝒇𝙧𝙚𝓮𝔀𝓮𝒃𝙣𝓸𝒗𝒆𝒍.𝙘𝒐𝒎
"But how did the flask open then? The only way that’s possible is—"
Xiaoyun froze. A conclusion came to his brain as his mouth kept shut. One that made his heart skip a beat.
"She might like to deny it as such, but I, as the genius, had long suspected that this red liquid thing is a living being."
The alternate Tianci’s point made him fall into silence once again. In his mind, it was the worst-case scenario.
"Anyway, we need to find a way to dispose of this. Or else this red liquid is going to ruin the lab soon or later."
"There is no way."
The straightforward answer caught Tianci a little offguard, as she stared towards the closed flask in his hand.
"What do you mean there’s no way?"
"You can throw whatever at it. Bombs, fire, whatever. This red liquid will still be there... This thing is indestructible."
As Xiaoyun stared towards the flask in his hand, he could feel a weird beating, like a real heart moving up and down.
Or it was just an illusion as he shook his head. It was just his own heartbeat that made him think the red liquid was moving.
"Store this thing in multiple layers of silica glass and seal it tight. Don’t even touch this thing and work with it ever again."
Tianci immediately got to work, going over to the drawers before taking out multiple containers made out of pure fused silica.
"Put it in here."
With the flask slowly lowered into a much bigger flask, Xiaoyun still felt it was unsafe as he grabbed another flask to put over it.
"This should prevent it from opening on its own... Unless it shatters the glass. Then there’s no way to prevent it."
"Yeah... What do we do with it now, though? Are we really just going to keep this thing inside the lab?"
As Tianci raised her concern, Xiaoyun nodded his head before putting the three-layered flask into the metal container.
"We have nowhere else to put it safely. Just have a camera monitoring the room at all times and find a separate room that has nothing else."
"Okay. I’ll do that..."
Closing the container, the redness in Tianci’s eye slowly dissipated as her usual self returned to normal.
"You feel that?" Xiaoyun suddenly questioned as he looked over to the clear window right by the door.
"Feel what?" Tianci asked in confusion.
"The pressure is gone. The windows isn’t block off by a dotted red paint either... Let me check the outside."
Xiaoyun quickly headed over to the exit, stepping out into the hallway before coming back to the storage room.
There was no feeling of heaviness, no dimmed and constant flicking lights. Everything was finally back to normal.
"Why is it so fast?" Tianci murmured as she stuck her hands out, only to feel no pressure or anything at all.
"Maybe it doesn’t take 24 hours after all... Anyway, come on, let’s go home before Leyan, and everyone else gets worried."
"W-Wait!"
As Tianci stopped him from exiting the room, Xiaoyun looked over to her for a second before it glued onto her naked body.
"C-Can you make some clothes for me? I-I don’t want to go out naked."
Tianci shyly murmured as she tried to cover her chest and crotch with her hands, only to make it even more tempting for him.
"Here... Also wear this. It’s to cover your face and your hands."
Resisting the urge to take her on the spot, Xiaoyun quickly created an extra-large hoodie and pants.
Next, he created a pair of gloves, a headband to cover her forehead, and a face mask to cover everything else.
"C-Can you see the red dots on my face?" Tianci nervously asked as she looked over to the metal shelf’s reflection.
"You’re as covered as a lasagna. Come on, let’s not waste any more time inside the lab. People are going to start getting worried."
After a long struggle, Tianci finally gave in as she accepted his hand, letting him walk her out of the storage room and then the lab.
---
"Governor! We were just starting to think about calling the police."
As all the scientists and soldiers quickly gathered around the two of them, Xiaoyun quickly stepped forward to act as a bodyguard.
"Everything is fine now. Please don’t enter the lab until tomorrow morning. Tianci will not be able to come to work until... Thursday."
"Is Miss Tianci fine?"
One of the younger scientists curiously asked, as they all could guess the heavily clothed person was Tianci.
"She’s fine. You guys can go back home as well now... Come on, let’s go. Don’t want to miss dinner back home."
As Xiaoyun brute forced through the crowd of people that had surrounded them, they finally made it to the car as he started up the engine.
"Tianci, you fine there?" Xiaoyun asked as he drove off, leaving the scientists a little stunned.
"I-I’m fine... I-It’s a little hot." Tianci quietly answered.
"Let me turn on the AC..."
With cool air coming from the car, Tianci felt much better. However, Xiaoyun was starting to get a little cold as it was already September.
"Xiaoyun, are you cold? Y-You don’t have to turn the AC that high for me." Tianci murmured, noticing his arms shivering.
"Don’t worry about it. I’m fine... We’re almost there. Just a few more turns and we’re home."
After pressing the gas pedal as hard as he could, Xiaoyun finally made it back home as Nami opened the garage door for them.
"Welcome back... Who’s this person and where’s Tianci?"
"This person is Tianci... It’s a long story."
As the three of them stepped into the living room, everyone was right there, sitting on the sofa with the TV playing.
"Took you guys long enough... Why does Tianci look like this? What happened in the lab?"
Leyan immediately recognized her through all the clothes as all of them quickly walked up and surrounded Tianci in the middle.
"Do you want to tell them, or do you want me to tell them?"
"Y-You can tell them. I-I’m going back to my room!"
Despite all the heavy cloths on Tianci, she easily ran through all of them before the sound of the door closing traveled down from the 2nd floor.
"Xiaoyun, why’s she dressed like that?" Yuqi curiously asked, her mind filled with curiosity like everyone else.
