Henry could sense his captain’s good mood even from afar. "Yes, yes."

Ivy placed her right hand on Silas’s cheeks so that his head wouldn’t move much. Suddenly, she felt a warm hand encircling her waist, followed by warm breath being sprayed on her nape,

"I feel so dizzy. Let me hold you." Silas’s velvety voice made Ivy’s heart skip a beat. The warmth from his hand seemed to seep through the thin fabric, scalding Ivy’s heart.

The ride to the military compound was a long one. At least for Ivy, who was engulfed by the warm heater.

She tried her best to calm her breathing; however, all her efforts were in vain. Silas’s hand... kept on ’accidentally’ moving around, and she bit her lips to stop herself from moaning.

What a sweet torture. She wanted nothing more than to kiss him.

’Get a grip, Ivy! He is just... ugh... oh god...’

The worst part was, Ivy could feel heat pooling in her lower abdomen. F*ck... she was wet.

Her mind was filled with even more questions.

’Didn’t Silas say he doesn’t love me anymore? So why did he even become hard... Ugh! I can’t focus at all.’

"Don’t you want to say anything?" Silas asked, his hauntingly melodious voice echoed in Ivy’s ears, burning her skin as well as the last bit of rationality left in his mind.

"Um, do you need help?" Ivy blurted out. Silas froze while Ivy cursed herself.

’Stupid! Stupid! What can you even help with? Hand? Mouth? Ugh! Stop thinking! Stop!’

As Ivy was dying from embarrassment, she heard Silas’s soft chuckle and suddenly wanted the earth to open up and swallow her.

"What kind of help can you do?" Silas, having no intention to let her off, asked.

Ivy changed the topic and asked, "Do you want to eat chocolate?"

"Sure. I didn’t know you liked chocolate flavor." Silas teased, his hand near her waist, making small circles.

Ivy: (o_0)?

No, that is not what I meant. Please, Mother Earth, if you love me, open up and swallow me.

She can only pretend not to understand sexual innuendos and took out a chocolate from her space.

It has been a long time since she had eaten a chocolate bar. Last time she had one was in her previous life, before her father sacrificed himself.

Her expression turned slightly bitter as she ate the chocolate. The rich, sweet taste made her close her eyes in delight.

Silas suddenly said, "Let me have a taste too."

Ivy paused before shaking her head, "No, you don’t like chocolate flavor, right?"

She was using his words back on him. Silas wasn’t offended and chuckled, tightening his grip on Ivy,

"Eh? Someone is keeping a grudge, huh?"

Ivy pursed her lips before smiling softly. Her heart was slowly melting, and she was starting to doubt her previous life.

’Maybe I am not the jinx? I stayed with the Ravencroft family and loved them, but they were never harmed. I had even spent some time with Silas and his team, but nothing happened. Maybe.. I was overthinking?’

The mere thought was enough to lift her mood. And her heart, which was tightly restricted by the rules imposed by her, seemed to lose at that moment.
