One-Eyed Monster
Chapter 948 - 946: Let the Chaos Begin
"What are you standing there for? Hurry up and awaken Nonoa!" Igor shouted impatiently, feeling enormous guilt towards Nonoa, wishing he could compensate immediately.
"His energy collection is unstable and will need some time before it can be consolidated," Tobin said. In this place, only he understands this consolidation art. While the method isn’t particularly unique, others cannot comprehend it. They can neither see nor touch, but Tobin, with his unique gift, can see these dispersed consciousnesses clearly and gather them into memory fragments. He then reassembles these fragments through various activities, gradually restoring the consciousness’s essence.
It’s a complex process requiring assistance from many. Tobin can achieve this because he meticulously observes his surroundings. As an ancient Hunter, he has a natural sensitivity to prey. He could capture Lightning in that world, allowing him to see details invisible to ordinary people. In the Border Realm, he also possesses eyes with special vision.
Igor was relieved to hear there was a way to save Nonoa, yet an anger within him remained, just as he had claimed, that he wouldn’t feel satisfied without beating up a few Soul Devourers.
"Then let’s go beat up the Soul Devourers. Who’s willing to go? Not everyone can go; someone must stay to care for Nonoa!" 𝐟𝚛𝕖𝚎𝕨𝗲𝐛𝚗𝐨𝐯𝐞𝕝.𝐜𝗼𝗺
"We’ll go!" the Mos Brothers exclaimed in unison, as they were always interested in such brawls.
"Young man, Ostro, Torres and I will stay to take care of Nonoa. Ostro and Torres are slightly injured and not suited for movement."
"Alright, you stay here then. We’ll go to beat up the Soul Devourers and return soon," Igor said, his fury, which had been brewing inside for a while, now ready to be unleashed.
"So, when do we leave?" Tobin Sol asked meekly, feeling ready for anything.
"If you could teleport us to the battlefield right now, that would be perfect, allowing us to save time."
"Now, the leaders are here, and the elites have found ways to avoid the Soul Devourers’ attacks; no one is fighting out in the wild," Tobin Sol regretfully stated.
"How do you communicate? Do you have Mail Bird Instant Messaging? Mail Bird goes through a process, how can you know the opponent’s status so quickly?" Igor was curious.
"It’s a method in the Border Realm, different from our world. The consciousnesses can transmit through Lightning, and I can capture Lightning, which is why I can promptly receive their status,"
"Do they all carry Lightning?" Igor widened his eyes at everyone. The idea seemed impossible; carrying Lightning could be dangerous, potentially electrifying oneself."
"No need to carry Lightning. I unleash Energy from Thunder. As long as they collect and control that energy, it’s enough!"
"So, Nonoa..."
"Yes, he does too. He’s a straightforward guy. Sigh, let’s not talk about him. This straightforward guy rarely uses these tools. He’s always worried it would endanger the ally leader, so he hasn’t used the power of Thunder to connect with us!" Ostro said; he was a good friend of Nonoa, feeling heartbroken at the moment.
"Uh..." Igor looked at Nonoa, a wave of shame washed over him for this straightforward guy who would rather scatter his consciousness than call for help.
"So, when you mentioned beating up those Soul Devourers, we got excited because we really wanted to vent this anger!" one of the Mos Brothers remarked.
"Then what are we waiting for? Let’s hurry and beat up those Soul Devourers!" Igor’s emotions surged too, as his initial anger hadn’t dissipated.
Igor now looked expectantly at Tobin. Being new here, Tobin was the experienced leader who should be asked for advice.
Tobin remained calm at the moment, although since Igor had arrived, the Border Realm seemed a bit chaotic. While he didn’t understand the reason, clearly Igor couldn’t provide more answers now.
Initially thinking bringing the young man back during the Barrier would yield answers, Tobin realized it wasn’t the case. This boy, named Igor, didn’t seem aware of his uniqueness.
Tobin felt he made an error in his judgement. Honestly, when his Thunder sensed Nonoa with an unknown newcomer in the Border Realm, he had a hunch the boy was key.
Now, although disappointed by his method’s failure, his original judgement was still accurate.
The Border Realm had been tumultuous lately, attributable to the boy, Igor. Soul Devourers had never attacked on such a scale before, nor tried to fully capture Igor. Tobin Sol couldn’t believe it wasn’t related to Igor.
However, since his method failed, answers weren’t found from Igor himself. Tobin Sol suddenly found Igor’s earlier proposal somewhat credible...
The leaders were already fuming. Continued repression would lower the Resistors’ morale. If bitten and still retreating in cowardice, it would truly damage spirits. Moreover, now the Border Realm was already in chaos. According to prior estimates, the Soul Devourers had deployed their strongest, even the owner’s Skeleton Knights, suggesting something unusual.
Previously, chaos was instigated by the Resistors, how could that tradition be reversed? Such traditions couldn’t be disregarded...
"Don’t look at me. You’re the commander; whatever you say goes!"
"Hoo-rah!" The Mos Brothers cheered excitedly after Tobin Sol’s declaration, pent-up energy ready for release.
"But I’m unfamiliar with this; you’ll have to lead the way!" Igor spread his hands, expressing powerlessness.
"Alright, once the Barrier concludes, we’ll take action and show these bastards some colors. I’ll lead then," Tobin Sol declared firmly, thinking to himself that since chaos was here, let’s make it even more lively!
