One Piece: Alucard the Immortal
Chapter 641 - 640: Blast! Blast! Blast!
Two hours later.
Alucard, Hancock, and the others stood atop Jormungandr’s head. Before them loomed a staggering red wall shrouded in mist—the Red Line, the continent that bisects the Grand Line.
A pale blue film brushed against Jormungandr’s snout, and in a flicker of movement, Law appeared before Alucard.
"The first batch is set." Law’s voice was cold as usual, but the slight twitch in his eye suggested he was far from calm.
In truth, none of them were. Bonney, Cavendish, and even Hancock looked a bit tense. Hancock had dreamed of doing this, but the actual act of defying eight hundred years of Government authority was a heavy thing.
Alucard walked to the edge. Through the mist, a few Dyna Stones could be seen embedded into the face of the Red Line.
BANG!
Alucard fired. The bullet pierced the mist and struck one of the stones. The glass vial shattered. The moment the Dyna Stone contacted oxygen, purple light erupted in a chain reaction of explosions.
From their perspective, several massive purple spheres of light appeared to "grow" out of the red wall before detonating.
Shockwave after shockwave blew the surrounding mist into nothingness. A minute later, as the smoke cleared, several massive craters were visible, each thousands of meters wide and hundreds of meters deep.
"Quite sturdy," Alucard chuckled, tilting his head to reveal one eye beneath his hat. "Aranea, prepare the second round."
Aranea swallowed hard. Holding two Dyna Stones in each hand, she flew into the fresh craters, planted them at the base, and flew back.
This was madness. No one knew what the world would look like after Alucard was done.
With another crack from Alucard’s black pistol, Jackal, violent explosions and mushroom clouds rose from the Red Line once more. By the third and fourth rounds, the tension on everyone’s faces turned to exhilaration. Many here had been persecuted by the Government; shock gave way to an endless, surging thrill.
"Hahahaha! Fantastic! I can’t wait to see the looks on those Government bastards’ faces!" Bonney, once a test subject hunted by the Government, clapped her hands and laughed until her stomach hurt.
Law, a survivor of the Flevance tragedy, let out a cold smirk. Aranea remained stoic. Only Cavendish was privately reeling. I’ve really boarded a dangerous ship. But if word of this gets out, I’ll be closer than ever to becoming a world-class superstar!
Hancock stood at Alucard’s right, her expression cold and proud. Government... your day has finally come.
BOOOOM!!!
Directly above them, thousands of meters up on the very summit of the Red Line, the earth was shaking.
At first, it was a tremor so light the residents of the Holy Land thought it was an illusion. But it grew into a full-blown earthquake. Mariejois was not ordinary land; the Holy District had been specially reinforced. It wasn’t supposed to have earthquakes.
"What is happening?!"
Kong, who had just retreated from the Sky Island and was covered in bandages, shouted at his subordinates.
A soldier struggled to salute amidst the shaking. "Commander-in-Chief! The Gorosei have dispatched an aerial unit led by Vice Admiral Yako to investigate! We are waiting for word!"
A sense of dread filled Kong. For some reason, the image of Alucard flashed in his mind.
BOOOOM!!!
The explosions below continued. Even Hancock had lost count. Was it the fifth time? The sixth?
As a new mushroom cloud billowed up, Alucard asked without looking back, "How many Dyna Stones are left?"
Aranea glanced at the row beside her feet. "One-third used."
"Keep blasting... Hm?"
Alucard stopped. Something inside the crater caught his eye.
Deep within the thousand-meter-deep pit, the exposed layer was glowing with a faint blue light. Alucard transformed into a swarm of bats and flew to the bottom. He found that the blue light came from fibers as thin as threads, interconnected like a precision circuit board.
"There’s something like this at the base of the Holy Land?"
As Alucard reached out to touch it, the blue fiber-like substance detached itself from the Red Line wall and surged into his body like a mist.
"This is..."
Alucard felt a shift within his body. From outside, Hancock’s worried voice drifted in: "Master, are you alright?"
Alucard walked calmly out of the crater. "Continue."
"Understood." Aranea didn’t know what he had found, but she quickly grabbed more Dyna Stones to deliver them into the pit.
"STOP!!"
A voice boomed from above. Dozens of figures pierced through the clouds, diving toward them. 𝒻𝑟ℯℯ𝑤𝑒𝑏𝑛𝘰𝓋𝑒𝓁.𝒸𝑜𝘮
"Vice Admiral Yako..." Aranea paused. It was the aerial unit, led by her former superior, Yako.
"Continue doing what you were doing," Alucard said tonelessly, aiming his gun upward.
"Hey, hey. Don’t come spoiling the fun while we’re enjoying ourselves," Law said, a rare expression of wild joy on his face as he drew Kikoku.
"ROOM!"
A massive blue dome expanded. Law Shambled himself directly in front of the aerial unit, his blade clashing against theirs.
