Chapter 281: Chapter 281: Leon VS Forsaken King [1]

FWOOSH!

The king swung his sword downward violently.

Instantly, every shadow bullet launched toward Leon at the exact same moment, transforming the throne room into a storm of pure destruction as the projectiles attacked from every direction simultaneously.

Even if someone somehow avoided most of them, a few direct hits alone would still guarantee death.

The [Forsaken King] already considered the battle over.

BOOOOOOOOOOM!

A gigantic explosion swallowed the center of the throne room while dark fog erupted violently outward, powerful shockwaves tearing through the already cracked floor and walls.

"Hahahahaha!" the king roared triumphantly. "DIE, FILTH!"

No player at this level should have been capable of surviving such an attack. It was impossible.

And yet... Several seconds later, the king’s laughter slowly stopped.

Crack! Crack! Crack!

The floor of the throne room began splitting apart even further while large chunks of debris slowly started floating upward into the air around the chamber.

The aura filling the room intensified tremendously. And then the [Forsaken King] felt it.

For the very first time in years, genuine danger.

A terrifying pressure spread across the chamber so intensely that even he instinctively felt caution crawling through his body.

"What...?"

The dark fog slowly dispersed.

And standing there in the middle of the destruction... Leon remained completely unharmed.

The shadow bullets had hit him, the king was sure, and yet the human didn’t even seem bothered by any of it.

It was more like, his attacks hit, but they didn’t do any damage.

"But how?!" the king roared furiously. "You should have died!"

Leon didn’t answer.

His eyes remained closed while the buildup of mana around him continued increasing endlessly, to the point where the throne room itself began collapsing under the pressure.

And finally... Leon opened his eyes. Purple lightning crackled violently around his body.

Then he swung the [Destiny Staff] downward.

OBLIVION METEOR!

The sky above the [Forsaken City] instantly split apart as though reality itself had been torn open by force.

A gigantic purple vortex formed high above the city, spinning violently while endless dark energy poured outward from within it.

Outside the castle, the other players, and even the monsters, in the city looked upward in horror as the heavens themselves changed.

Back inside the throne room, the [Forsaken King] slowly lifted his head toward the ceiling.

And for the first time since Leon met him... The king looked hesitant.

Because emerging from the vortex above was a meteor so gigantic that it completely dwarfed the [Forsaken Castle] beneath it, appearing at least fifty times larger than the entire structure itself.

Dark-purple flames covered its surface while reality visibly distorted around it from the overwhelming force contained within the spell.

The mere sight of it felt apocalyptic.

"What... is that...?" the king whispered, his voice completely losing its previous confidence.

How could a mere human summon something like this?

This was not normal magic. This was not even high-level magic.

This was the kind of forbidden spell capable of erasing entire regions from existence.

And only then did the [Forsaken King] finally understand everything.

Why Leon had closed his eyes. Why he spent all this time gathering mana.

Why he had not even bothered dodging the shadow bullets.

The human had been preparing this attack from the very beginning.

And now... It was already too late.

Leon smiled faintly while purple energy crackled around his eyes and repeated the king’s exact same words from before.

"Well," Leon grinned, "game over."

"ARE YOU INSANE?!" 𝙛𝓻𝒆𝒆𝒘𝙚𝓫𝙣𝙤𝒗𝙚𝓵.𝙘𝙤𝙢

The [Forsaken King] completely lost his composure as he stared upward at the gigantic meteor descending from the torn sky above the castle.

His white pupils trembled violently while the pressure coming from Leon’s forbidden spell continued to grow stronger and stronger every second.

The throne room itself was beginning to crack apart beneath the overwhelming aura radiating from above.

"THIS IS SUICIDE!"

"Yeah," Leon shrugged while holding both his sword and staff tightly in his hands, "I can’t escape my own forbidden spell either, so we both die."

"Was that your entire plan?" the king roared furiously, his dark aura erupting throughout the chamber in violent waves powerful enough to shake the walls and split apart the floor beneath his throne, "IS THIS IT?! Kill yourself so the others survive?!"

"Yeah," Leon repeated with the same calm smile, "We both die."

The atmosphere inside the throne room changed completely after those words.

Because until now, the [Forsaken King] had looked at Leon as nothing more than an amusing anomaly, a player who somehow managed to survive longer than expected and even defeat the guardians of the city despite being weaker than him.

But now, for the very first time since Leon entered the castle, the king was genuinely shaken, because he finally understood what kind of human stood before him: a complete lunatic.

Someone insane enough to willingly throw his own life away if it meant securing victory.

"Killing me won’t stop the meteor," Leon spoke while pointing his sword upward toward the shattered ceiling above them where the forbidden spell continued descending slowly toward the castle, "But you already know that, don’t you?"

The king’s expression twisted violently because he did know, and that realization was exactly why he had lost his composure in the first place.

The moment Leon completed the casting of the forbidden spell, the meteor had already begun descending toward the city, meaning that killing Leon now would change absolutely nothing since the spell had already been completed.

The meteor would still fall. The castle would still be destroyed.

Everything would still disappear beneath the impact.

"I SHALL ERASE YOU!"

The king roared as he swung his massive blade downward with overwhelming force, causing darkness itself to explode outward from the sword in a gigantic tsunami-like wave that surged through the throne room toward Leon with enough destructive power to instantly annihilate almost anything in the city.

Darkness Wave!

The attack swallowed nearly the entire chamber as it advanced, leaving no space whatsoever for Leon to dodge or escape from it, because the sheer size of the wave made avoiding it practically impossible unless one possessed teleportation or some absurd defensive ability.

And yet Leon didn’t move even slightly. He didn’t dodge. Didn’t block. Didn’t even flinch.

The wave of darkness crashed into him completely, flooding over his entire body while the throne room trembled violently from the impact.

Dark energy exploded across the walls and pillars around them as the king watched closely for Leon’s body to be erased.

But once the darkness settled... Leon was still standing there calmly. Completely unharmed.

The [Forsaken King] froze for a split second.

The king knew that someone with Leon’s combat power should not have been capable of tanking that attack without injuries, especially not an attack empowered by an SS-Level darkness sub-talent.

"What... are you?" the king muttered while staring at Leon with a much darker expression than before.
