Chapter 287: Chapter 287: The God-Rank Assessment’s Rewards [1]

Leon explained the battle with the [Forsaken King] to the others as simply as possible, though even while simplifying things, the story still sounded completely ridiculous from beginning to end.

He told them how he entered the castle alone, fought the [Forsaken Ghoul], then faced the king directly inside the throne room before eventually summoning the forbidden spell that destroyed the entire castle.

The only things Leon intentionally left out were [Celestial’s Might] and the fact he had revived afterward.

Those two secrets were simply too important.

Especially the second one.

If people discovered Leon could revive after death, then eventually somebody would begin trying to figure out why, and Leon absolutely didn’t want anyone knowing about the [Life Vessel] title or the [Altar of Life].

So he kept those details to himself.

Still, even without those parts, the others looked completely stunned while listening to him.

"Well damn," Alicar let out a laugh while shaking his head slowly, "I don’t think any of us would’ve been capable of doing that."

His silver eyes kept moving toward Leon like he still couldn’t fully process what happened.

"Seriously," Oasis muttered while adjusting one of her gadgets nervously, "You literally dropped a meteor on the entire city center."

Godrick crossed his massive arms and laughed loudly.

"Hahaha! Human, you’re completely insane! But I guess insanity works sometimes."

"Well, it doesn’t really matter anymore," Leon shrugged casually. "All that matters is that... we won."

The moment he said those words, the entire group suddenly went silent for a few seconds.

Because Leon was right. They actually won.

After all the despair, the deaths, the monsters, the years spent trapped inside the [Forsaken City], and the dark fog that nearly swallowed everything...

They survived. Not only that, but they completed the second God-Rank assessment.

Ding!

Right at that moment, golden panels appeared before all five of them once more.

Unlike the previous notifications though, these panels felt different somehow. Heavier.

Almost as if something incomprehensibly powerful was personally observing them.

It honestly felt less like a normal system notification and more like the world itself was evaluating everything they had accomplished inside the [Forsaken City].

Then the golden text slowly appeared before Leon.

Ding!

[A sole mortal human walked into the city, unaware of its dangers, yet in a matter of hours, he had shown its countless foes who the real danger was.]

[Facing the king, he used everything he had to emerge victorious, freeing the city from its eternal darkness.]

[Some of the chains binding his soul will soon be released.]

[You have killed "Forsaken General"]

[You have killed "Spider Mother"]

[You have killed "Forsaken Minotaur"]

[You have killed "Forsaken Ghoul"]

[You have killed "Forsaken King"]

[...And countless other enemies who stood in your path.]

Leon stared at the floating golden panels for a few seconds with narrowed eyes.

’The hell is all of this?’

This was the first time the system had ever described his actions like this before. It honestly felt less robotic than usual.

Almost like something was narrating his achievements personally.

Before he could think further though, another panel appeared.

Ding!

[Assessment Appraisal: Godly (Highest Prestige)]

[If anybody is worthy to become a god and to stand above all others, you are the one.]

[You have received the God-Rank Title: "Divine Soul (Locked)"]

Leon’s eyebrows immediately rose slightly.

"...A title?"

Meanwhile, the others also seemed to be receiving their own appraisals.

"Did you guys also receive weird descriptions after your appraisal?" Oasis suddenly asked while looking around in confusion. "Mine said I’m some kind of genius inventor whose creations can alter destiny or something."

"Hahaha!" Godrick grinned proudly. "Mine said my strength could eventually shake the cosmos itself."

Alicar smirked slightly while crossing his arms.

"It said my arrows could pierce the heavens and annihilate everything in one strike."

As for Violet, she stayed mostly silent, though judging from the faint expression on her face, her appraisal had clearly been ridiculous as well.

Still, none of them mentioned receiving the [Divine Soul] title.

Which immediately made Leon understand something. Only he received it.

Without wasting time, Leon immediately opened the title’s panel.

[Divine Soul (Locked): The essence of a dormant god flows inside of your soul, though it isn’t strong enough to activate. This title will remain locked until then.]

"I guess that’s for later," Leon muttered thoughtfully.

A dormant god inside his soul? That sounded absurd even by [Eternal Ascension]’s standards.

Still, the fact it was locked meant he couldn’t use it yet anyway, so there wasn’t much point obsessing over it for now.

Meanwhile, the others continued comparing their appraisals.

Godrick had received "Legendary." Alicar had received "Peak." Oasis had obtained "Glorious."

And Violet...

"Transcendent?" Godrick stared at her in disbelief. "Damn."

Violet only shrugged slightly. Still, none of them had received "Godly" like Leon.

Which honestly made perfect sense. After all, Leon was the one who killed the [Forsaken King].

The others contributed heavily throughout the assessment, especially Violet, but the system clearly valued the person who ended everything the most.

Leon also finally understood what the system meant earlier when it said rewards would differ depending on performance.

Now that every player had been appraised individually based on everything they achieved inside the city, the rewards they received would obviously vary greatly.

Which also meant... Leon and Violet would likely receive the greatest rewards out of the group. Especially Leon.

The entire group slowly quieted down afterward as everyone opened their own reward panels. Even Godrick stopped talking for once.

It was finally time to see what rewards they earned after surviving the second God-Rank assessment.

Ding!

[Reward #1: All your skills will increase by two levels.]

Leon’s eyes widened instantly.

’Oh shit.’

This reward was absurd. Actually absurd.

The number of [Skill Stones] required to level up all of Leon’s abilities individually would easily reach into the hundreds by now, especially because many of his strongest skills were already high-level.

Yet the system was casually upgrading every single one of them by two entire levels.

That alone would massively increase his overall combat power. Honestly, this reward might’ve been more valuable than most treasure chests.

Leon immediately wanted to use the remaining [Skill Stones] in his storage first before the reward activated so he could maximize the gains further.

But before he even had the chance...

Ding!

The reward instantly activated. Notifications rapidly began appearing one after another before Leon’s eyes.
