Only My Weapons Level UP
Chapter 121: Last chance
The searing projectile struck true, engulfing the Overlord’s vision in a burst of flames. Momentarily disoriented, the beast roared in pain and fury, its movements faltering.
Seizing this momentary advantage, Terry leaped into action, using the confusion to close the distance between them. He aimed a powerful swing at the Overlord’s head, intending to deliver a crushing blow that would incapacitate the formidable foe. Yet, to his surprise, the Overlord reacted with astonishing speed and strength.
With its enormous elbow, the overlord troll deflected Terry’s attack, the sheer force of the block sending tremors through the ground. Terry’s eyes widened in awe and trepidation. The Overlord’s reflexes were beyond extraordinary, proving that this enemy was no mere brute relying on size and power alone.
"Is that the best you can do?" The troll overlord asked and then pushed Terry away.
The Fire Sword left a burn mark on the face of the monster, but it vanished after five seconds. That kind of ability was crazy... and he thought that his own was insane.
With each thunderous charge, the overlord troll hurled its massive fists at Terry, attempting to crush him under the weight of its relentless fury. The impact of its punches reverberated through the battlefield, sending shockwaves across the snowy terrain. But no matter how hard the troll overlord tried, Terry’s resolve and skill proved an unyielding defense.
The clash of metal against flesh echoed through the air as Terry’s black steel Destroyer blocked each ferocious blow. The ground trembled beneath their feet, and the surrounding snow was upturned into a chaotic whirlwind. The Overlord’s frustration grew with every unsuccessful attack, its anger manifesting in the icy aura that enveloped it.
Terry stood his ground with unwavering determination, channeling all his strength and concentration into deflecting the brute force of the Overlord’s assault. Each collision sent him skidding backward, leaving deep furrows in the snow. Yet, despite the seemingly one-sided nature of the battle, Terry’s eyes gleamed with a fiery intensity.
As the overlord troll recoiled from yet another blocked attack, Terry sensed a flicker of irritation in its eyes. The beast’s primal instincts were driven by a desire for domination, and Terry’s resilience frustrated its very nature. The troll overlord couldn’t comprehend how this seemingly insignificant human could withstand its overwhelming might.
In an instant, the frigid air seemed to come alive as the overlord troll raised its left arm, and the surrounding snow responded to its command. Terry’s eyes widened in disbelief as the snow beneath his feet started to churn and rise, encircling his legs like a vice grip. He had underestimated the troll’s abilities, and now he found himself immobilized by the very ground he stood on.
Before he could react, the Overlord charged forward, its massive fist barreling toward Terry with terrifying speed and power. The ground cracked beneath the force of its punch, and Terry was sent hurtling through the air, spinning uncontrollably like a leaf caught in a tempest.
The impact of the Overlord’s strike was devastating, slamming Terry’s body into the frozen ground with bone-rattling force. The world around him blurred as he struggled to regain his senses. Pain seared through his body, and he felt a dull ache spreading through his chest and limbs.
The troll Overlord smiled in satisfaction, but his face Changed to one of surprise when he saw Terry getting up. He knew that the Blacksteel Destroyer could improve the regenerative abilities of the trolls. Still, he couldn’t believe that it was working against a human as well.
"Ugh, can’t be helped..." Terry thought while raising his weapon. "I can only take another hit like this, so I will make it count."
The troll overlord’s eyes widened with shock and suspicion as it peered at Terry, sensing that something about the young warrior had shifted. It couldn’t quite put its finger on what had changed, but it was enough to make the beast wary.
Undeterred, the Overlord summoned its icy powers once more, causing snow to swirl around Terry’s legs, attempting to trap him once again. But this time, Terry was ready. He had learned from his previous mistake and had steeled himself against the surprise attack.
The troll overlord’s eyes widened in surprise as Terry abandoned his defensive stance and instead swung the black steel Destroyer downward, aiming directly at the enemy’s head. It had expected Terry to continue blocking its attacks, not launch a counterattack with such audacity.
As the troll overlord reacted to Terry’s unexpected counterattack, it swung its massive fist toward Terry’s chest, attempting to block the incoming strike. The impact sent a jolt of pain through Terry’s body, but he gritted his teeth and pressed on, refusing to back down.
With a burst of strength, Terry tightened his grip on the black steel Destroyer, channeling his determination into the attack. Surprisingly, the Overlord’s wrist buckled under the force of Terry’s strike, and its own arm was forced back, colliding with its own head.
The unexpected turn of events seemed to catch the Overlord off guard, and for a moment, it faltered, its grip on Terry weakening. Taking advantage of the opening he created, Terry quickly rolled backward and sprang back to his feet.
Though the enemy’s punch had pushed him away, Terry’s own attack had dealt a significant blow, reducing the force of the Overlord’s strike. His armor had absorbed most of the impact, lessening the damage he sustained. Despite the throbbing pain in his chest, Terry knew he had inflicted a measure of damage on the formidable foe.
As he stood back up, Terry kept his eyes locked on the troll overlord. He could sense the creature’s frustration and anger.
"Shit, the attack wasn’t powerful enough..." Terry thought. "This guy is too strong... my ribcage is hurting with every single breath I take; the next time I get hit, the damage will be too much for me to be able to fight at full power... I need to bet even harder on the next counterattack."
The troll overlord took a step back, its eyes never leaving Terry’s form. Normally, its pride would have hindered any retreat or apparent vulnerability, but this time, it wasn’t taking any chances. It knew that underestimating Terry again could be a fatal mistake.
