Only My Weapons Level UP
Chapter 184: Last Card
After landing in the middle of another giant ruin of a city, the overlord turned to face Terry. The enemy turned all of its limbs without long swords, so the monster truly looked ominous... Terry landed nearby and wondered what he should do... they flew quite the distance. It was hard to imagine that the others would arrive on time to support him.
Time became an urgent factor in this escalating battle, and Terry knew he couldn’t afford to waste a moment. He surged forward, closing the distance between him and the overlord with determined strides. The overlord responded in kind, its own advance marked by a deadly intent.
As the two clashed, the overlord attempted to skewer Terry with the sword-like projections extending from its legs. Terry’s instinctual reaction saw his own sword rise to intercept the attack, creating a fierce collision of forces. Yet, the sheer weight and force behind the overlord’s attack began to push Terry back, his boots skidding across the ground as he fought against the relentless pressure.
Straining against the overlord’s strength, Terry gritted his teeth, channeling all his power into maintaining his stance. The clash of metal against metal reverberated through the air, a testament to the raw power that both combatants wielded. Terry’s arms trembled under the force, but his determination and resilience burned fiercely, refusing to give in to the overwhelming weight of the overlord’s assault.
Terry couldn’t win in a direct and simple fight since he had less mana, so he had to use his head and try to end things as quickly as possible...
With a sudden shift of tactics, Terry vaulted to the side and then surged forward in a charge, his determination unwavering. His skill, Stinger, came into play as he unleashed a spinning strike, intending to pierce through the overlord’s defenses. The monster reacted swiftly, bringing the swords in its arms to bear, attempting to block Terry’s assault.
In a clash of strength, Terry’s sword met the overlord’s swords, creating a brief but intense moment of resistance. Yet, Terry’s unyielding determination pushed him to continue, and he continued spinning with his Stinger attack. The overlord’s blades struggled to withstand the force of the attack, the friction between the two weapons generating sparks.
Then, a breakthrough. Terry’s spinning drive overwhelmed the overlord’s defenses, and his blade pierced through the swords. For a split second, victory seemed imminent as Terry’s weapon was poised to strike at the heart of the overlord. However, the disorienting effects of his maneuver caught up with him, and dizziness washed over him, forcing him to halt his attack.
The overlord’s metal body trembled from the encounter, its own surprise evident even without facial features. Terry’s relentless assault had tested the limits of the overlord’s defenses, showing that victory was not beyond reach. Yet, the battle was far from over, and the outcome remained uncertain in the face of this formidable foe.
The overlord swung down bother swords at Terry before he could recover and then Terry was sent downward toward the ground. The impact of his fall made the entire area tremble... still, the overlord could tell amidst the dust that his presence didn’t get weaker.
"As expected, your trait truly is..." The overlord said but then it was interrupted.
A barrage of magic blades surged forth from Terry’s direction, hurtling toward the overlord with relentless force. The enemy swiftly raised its arms, its metal limbs poised in a defensive stance, and it managed to intercept the incoming projectiles. The collision of magic blades against the overlord’s arms created a dazzling display of sparks, but the enemy held its ground.
The flurry of magic blade attacks continued, each strike met by the overlord’s resilient arms. However, the sustained onslaught began to take its toll, and the monster’s arms eventually started to show signs of wear. In a sudden shift of strategy, the overlord altered its form, transforming parts of its body into a protective barrier. The beast’s body extended and reshaped, forming a makeshift shield to guard against Terry’s relentless assault.
With each strike, Terry’s magic blades struck against the overlord’s evolving defenses. Explosions erupted upon impact, resonating through the area and causing the very ground to quake. The enemy’s body was pushed backward by the sheer force of the attacks, its previously invulnerable exterior giving way to the powerful onslaught.
As the overlord continued to defend itself, a crucial moment arrived. Terry’s unyielding determination pushed him to exhaust his mana reserves, launching a final sequence of Stinger attacks that overwhelmed the enemy’s defenses. With each successive strike, Terry’s assault pushed the overlord back, step by step, meter by meter.
Amidst the chaos and explosions, Terry’s blade pierced through the enemy’s form, causing a dramatic rupture. The overlord’s body was driven backward until it had completely passed through the monster. Terry’s calculated and unrelenting assault had achieved a critical breakthrough, leaving the enemy staggered and momentarily vulnerable
While fighting the dizziness, Terry stopped moving and turned around only to see the overlord becoming a mud pool on the ground... that couldn’t have been enough to kill the beast... he had imagined that he would have to find a core or something to kill the monster, after all.
Terry cautiously advanced toward the mud pool, his senses on high alert. An eerie feeling gnawed at him, warning that something was amiss. As he neared the pool’s edge, the liquid within seemed to ripple with a strange energy. With a surge of curiosity and unease, he leaned in for a closer look.
Suddenly, the liquid burst forth from the pool, launching itself at Terry with surprising speed. Before he could react, the viscous substance enveloped him, its cool embrace quickly turning invasive. Panic shot through him as he felt the strange liquid infiltrating his body through his pores and orifices. The enemy was finally trying to take over Terry’s body in one way or the other and without caring for the consequences for that unusual action.
