Chapter 188: Death Flag

While there isn’t a specific type of food that can drastically increase blood recovery, there are certain nutrients and dietary choices that can support overall blood health and potentially aid in the recovery process, especially after situations like blood donation or in cases of anemia.

Iron is a key component of hemoglobin, which carries oxygen in the blood. Foods rich in iron include red meat, poultry, fish, beans, lentils, tofu, fortified cereals, and dark leafy greens like spinach.

Adequate protein intake is important for the production of hemoglobin and other blood components. Sources of protein include lean meats, poultry, fish, dairy, eggs, legumes, and plant-based protein sources like tofu and tempeh.

This vitamin is important for maintaining the health of various cells in the body, including blood cells. Foods rich in vitamin A include sweet potatoes, carrots, spinach, and liver.

With the challenges they faced, food production had become a slow process in recent times, not even accounting for the monsters’ meat. Given these circumstances, Terry decided to shift his attention primarily to addressing this pressing issue.

For three consecutive days, Terry dedicated himself to a rather intense eating regimen. He consumed as much meat as he possibly could, pushing his limits beyond what he had ever experienced before. This focused and determined effort to bolster his nourishment was a stark contrast to the life he led just a year ago.

The contrast was undeniable. From a life of relative ease and normality, Terry had evolved into a warrior who now had to harness every resource available to him in order to adapt and survive.

"You should take a break," Terry said when he woke up after a nap since he was always tired after offering so much blood in a few days.

"It is fine, this much I can handle... we lost most of the guild masters and things won’t end well for us if you three die as well," Clark replied while trying to hide the bags under his eyes.

Terry’s presence in Clark’s workshop allowed him to witness the entire forging process of the new weapon he desired. While the process wasn’t dramatically different from his past experiences, it did carry a unique aspect due to the intricate final components involved.

As Terry observed the forging, he couldn’t help but consider the possibility of crafting an advanced power suit using the same remarkable material. Such a suit, he knew, would grant him significantly enhanced capabilities compared to his current armor. However, this endeavor would necessitate a substantial amount of his own blood, far more than what he had used previously.

Driven by the prospect of having an even more formidable advantage, Terry explored the idea of mixing his blood with that of the monsters. He also experimented with combining his blood with a sample from Rebecca’s blood, but these attempts yielded no success. It appeared that their blood couldn’t synergize in an inanimate object like a weapon or an armor. The fact that his blood had previously worked in conjunction with the guild masters’ blood remained an enigma to Terry, a puzzling inconsistency that he could only speculate about.

"It seems that you are almost there," Vanessa said when she suddenly arrived after her previous mission. "That you are almost dying."

"Where is Rebecca and how did the guilds take the bad news?" Terry asked.

"A few people understood the situation and could tell that the guild masters would act like that, but the vast majority was enraged," Vanessa explained. "They don’t believe that we killed the enemy that defeated all of them and some are saying that we are plotting to take over the country."

"They will understand things better when an overlord invades this country... this shouldn’t take long," Terry said while showing an annoyed expression."

"That seems like the easiest way to solve this issue, but it causes many others," Vanessa said while massaging her forehead. "Rebecca is resting at home and I will do the same... we will be going to close some portas tomorrow."

"Until later," Terry said.

Terry’s skeletons continued their diligent efforts even in his absence, relentlessly delving deeper into uncharted territories. Their relentless progress brought them close to conquering the third new dungeon, a testament to their efficiency and his strategic guidance.

However, Terry was well aware of the weight of responsibility that came with working like that, those three were the primary and main strength of the country, after all. While their strength and abilities were formidable, caution remained crucial.

At least from that mess, something came out of it, Terry was able to max out his sword and armor. Keeping using them would be a waste, so he was planning to leave them with Rebecca and Vanessa while they work closing the dungeons. As long as they have both of them, they will be fine against most opponents.

"Since the type and the strength of the monsters also determine the strength of the overlords, we will be fine under most circumstances," Terry thought. "... This truly makes me feel like I am raising a death flag. Well, I guess just a few words won’t change the future too much considering the gravity of things."
