Only My Weapons Level UP
Chapter 193: No sense
"I guess the overlord wants to come here as soon as possible..." Terry thought and then looked around only to find some weird blue spheres flying around that had dark eyes and mouths, they were the ice spirits.
The ice spirits appeared as ethereal entities, their forms a mesmerizing fusion of ice and mist. Each spirit exuded an aura of frigid energy, their presence resonating with an otherworldly cold that seemed to permeate the air around them. 𝗳𝗿𝐞𝕖𝘄𝗲𝕓𝗻𝚘𝚟𝕖𝐥.𝚌𝕠𝕞
Their figures were sculpted from ice and snow, casting an enchanting yet haunting silhouette. Their bodies were translucent, allowing glimpses of the landscape behind them as if they were composed of living ice crystals. The play of light danced upon their icy surfaces, creating a prismatic display that shifted with every movement.
Their features held an otherworldly beauty, with sharp lines and delicate curves that seemed to evoke the elegance of frost-covered landscapes. Eyes that gleamed like glacial sapphires gazed out from within their icy visages, possessing a depth that hinted at ancient wisdom.
As they moved, the spirits left a trail of frost in their wake, their steps accompanied by the faint sound of tinkling ice crystals. Their movements were graceful and fluid, as if they were borne upon the very currents of the frigid winds that surrounded them.
"With this much cold, fire attacks will lose a lot of power, and they aren’t to be underestimated," Terry thought.
Terry also had to be careful, so he wouldn’t get all the enemies to come at him, he had to silently finish them off one by one while using as little mana as possible since he couldn’t stay there all day. It was quite the challenge since his best gear now needed some time to surpass the previous one.
"Well, I need to experiment with it first before deciding anything," Terry thought.
The situation actually turned out to be a good thing for Terry. It gave him a chance to use his creativity and come up with new ways to deal with tough enemies. He knew that sometimes getting out of his usual tactics could make him better at handling strong foes.
These flying monsters, the ice spirits, were a tricky challenge. Terry’s usual trick of setting traps or making them fall into holes wouldn’t work here. But he wasn’t out of options. He had to figure something else out.
So, Terry used his magic skills. He made some dirt rise up from the ground below him and made it float toward the flying monsters. He was careful, though. He knew these monsters were made of a special kind of energy called mana. Using too much mana too quickly could alert them, so he was subtle about it.
He made the dirt particles move towards the closest monster. Just when it started noticing something strange with the energy around it, Terry moved fast. He covered the monster in the floating dirt, like wrapping it up in a cloak. Then, he hit it with force, breaking it apart. Even though he was far away, Terry could sense the monster getting weaker and dying. But to make sure it was gone for good, Terry had to use more energy than he had gained back.
After it was all over, Terry felt a mix of success and realization about the cost. Yet, he knew these kinds of challenges were part of getting better at what he did.
"I suppose I either increase my magic power quickly enough or I will have to take breaks soon... There is also the option to change my approach a bit.
Terry pulled the dirt and checked its interior, he didn’t see anything inside aside from an insanely cold ice pebble. It wasn’t a core, it was just the compressed ice that made the monster body.
Terry considered impaling the monster or making it explode to save mana, but it wouldn’t work. He needed another approach...
After thinking for a short while, Terry decided to just snipe the monsters. He wouldn’t have to control or use that much mana, after all. Besides, thanks to his weapon, he could hit anything with one hundred percent accuracy as long as it was within his range.
Terry decided to change his weapon into a bow, but he didn’t summon an arrow. He knew that shooting an arrow would make too much noise, potentially alerting the enemies to his presence. It was a balancing act – he needed to be quiet and stealthy, even though it was a bit annoying for him to deal with these minor threats in such a cautious way.
While Terry found it a hassle to be so sneaky against what he considered "small fries," he recognized the importance of being careful. Every move he made could have consequences, and he didn’t want to tip off any more of the monsters than he had to.
Wanting to take out one of the creatures without making a ruckus, Terry conjured a sphere made of earth. With precision, he hurled it at one of the targets. However, his confidence quickly wavered when he witnessed the attack passing right through the monster as if it wasn’t even there. A jolt of surprise and dread shot through him, leaving him momentarily paralyzed by the unexpected turn of events.
The monster responded to this failed attack by fixing its gaze on Terry. In a disconcerting display, the creature emitted a strange hissing sound, its intentions shrouded in mystery. Terry’s mind raced, trying to process the bizarre occurrence. His strategic advantage had crumbled, leaving him vulnerable and exposed in the face of an enemy that seemed to defy the rules he had come to understand.
"That was made of magic... it doesn’t make any sense!" Terry thought.
In the end, Terry created the sphere with magic, but he attacked like it was a physical weapon, that is what he took from that.
Terry felt like sighing while watching the enemies flying toward him, but perhaps that was for the best... the sound of the first enemy made dozens of them fly toward Terry, but he wasn’t fazed, he was relieved that he didn’t have to be sneaky about it anymore.
