Only My Weapons Level UP
Chapter 215: Throne room
He summoned a barrage of fiery swords, sending them slicing through the air in the direction from which the noxious fog emanated. The blades of fire illuminated the eerie hall with their fiery glow as they streaked through the gas, causing it to ignite and explode in a series of fiery attacks.
The explosion cleared a path through the toxic haze, revealing the monster, temporarily stunned and engulfed in flames. This was Terry’s chance to strike back and gain the upper hand in the battle.
Terry swiftly transformed his magic staff into a crossbow and began unleashing a rapid flurry of bolts towards the monster. The projectiles whizzed through the air, hitting the ceiling with immense force, causing large chunks of stone to splinter and fly in all directions. However, the cunning enemy was too agile, effortlessly avoiding each and every shot. It swiftly vanished into the darkness once again.
The Nosferatu once again released the noxious green gas, attempting to engulf Terry in its deadly fumes. However, Terry had learned from his previous encounter and was now ready for this tactic. With precision, he unleashed explosive fire swords into the oncoming gas cloud, causing fiery detonations that combated the poisonous atmosphere. The monster’s strategy seemed to backfire, as Terry’s flames illuminated the darkness, making it easier to track the elusive creature’s movements.
The monster, frustrated by its failed attempts to poison Terry, decided to take a more direct approach. It lunged forward, its long, thin fingers reaching for Terry’s throat. However, Terry was quick to react. He used his crossbow and fired bolts at the monster’s head. The creature instinctively raised its hands to block the attack, but the powerful bolts left large, gaping holes in its hands. The monster howled in pain, but it kept charging.
The creature, undeterred by its wounds, continued its relentless advance towards Terry. As the monster charged at him, Terry used his crossbow to block its attack, but the force behind the creature’s charge was overpowering. Terry was pushed backward, struggling to maintain his balance against the sheer strength of the beast.
"Disgusting freak," Terry muttered while showing an annoyed expression.
Terry reacted with a swift kick to the monster’s stomach, successfully creating some much-needed distance between them. He wasted no time and fired a rapid succession of bolts at the creature’s head. However, the beast , quick on its feet, crossed its arms in a defensive posture, skillfully deflecting each bolt with its limbs, unfazed by the attack. The beast’s eerie, unblinking stare remained locked onto Terry.
Despite the injuries it had sustained earlier, the monster seemed to regenerate at an alarming rate, and the wounds that had marred its form simply faded away. The Nosferatu charged at Terry with lightning speed, a relentless onslaught. Terry fired more bolts from his crossbow, but just as the projectiles were about to make contact, the monster transformed into a dark mist.
Terry reacted swiftly, leaping backward to evade the mist’s immediate grasp. However, to his horror, the malevolent mist followed him relentlessly, closing in with the intent to suffocate and consume him, a chilling, agonizing and eerie sensation that sent shivers down his spine.
Terry acted on instinct, calling upon his mastery over fire magic. With a swift motion, he summoned several fiery swords into existence and hurled them into the oncoming mist. The blazing swords sliced through the darkness, their intense heat dispersing the ethereal form of the monster. As the mist made contact with the searing flames, it let out a spine-tingling shriek before reluctantly reforming into the grotesque humanoid figure of the beast.
"I have to keep this thing away from me, but it looks like long ranged attacks can only do so much..." Terry thought.
The monster lunged at Terry with renewed aggression, its malevolent intent palpable in the air. Terry, nimble and agile, leaped away with acrobatic finesse, avoiding the creature’s vicious strikes. As he dodged and weaved through the monster’s relentless assault, his mind raced, searching for a strategy to outsmart this annoying and yet formidable foe.
The overlord continued to close in on Terry, its elongated, razor-sharp fingernails now inching perilously close to his left chest. Terry could feel the cold, deadly edges of those nails just millimeters away from his skin, and the air grew tenser with each passing moment as the monster pressed its advantage.
In a split-second decision, Terry transformed his weapon into a gleaming sword, its blade crackling with empowered mana. With a swift and precise strike, he severed both of the monster’s outstretched arms in one clean motion. The creature howled in agony as its limbs fell to the ground, writhing in pain.
In the next moment, Terry burned them to a crisp... but soon he saw the limbs of the monster regrowing. However, the monster stopped moving and that was a good start for him, he could resume his attacks that way.
Terry, undeterred by the creature’s pain-filled cries, charged forward, determined to end the battle. His sword gleamed with mana as he swung it towards the monster. However, the cunning foe leaped backward, creating distance between them. As it moved away, it exhaled a noxious green gas, which hung heavily in the air.
Terry ignored that as he brandished the side of the sword and made the gas dissipate a bit, creating a path for him to keep going. Unfortunately, that small distraction gave the monster enough time to regenerate its limbs.
Terry, his annoyance growing with each evasive move of the creature, took a bold step. He slammed his foot onto the ground, generating a shockwave that sent him hurtling towards the monster at incredible speed. The monster, realizing Terry’s intent, desperately raised its arms to shield itself.
In a flash, Terry transformed his weapon into a massive greatsword, its blade radiating with mana. He brought it down with immense force. The sword sliced through the monster’s outstretched arms, severing them cleanly and driving deep into its shoulder. The creature let out a horrendous screech of pain, the wailing sound echoing through the dark, eerie castle.
As Terry attempted to split the monster in two, it seemed the creature had one last malevolent trick up its shadowy sleeve. In a horrifying display of transformation, the beast contorted and reshaped itself. Its agonizing cries seemed to fuel this dreadful metamorphosis.
The creature’s form elongated and expanded, its physique swelling to monstrous proportions. In the span of a heartbeat, it stood at an imposing ten meters tall, dwarfing Terry in comparison. Its sinewy limbs became densely muscular, resembling twisted tree trunks, and its fingers transformed into grotesque claws, each as long as a man’s forearm. The monster’s once sharp nails had turned into wickedly sharp fangs that jutted from its skeletal fingers.
The transformation extended to its face, where its teeth elongated into nightmarish fangs, threatening to pierce even the hardest of materials. Its eyes burned with a malevolent, demonic light, and its skin took on a dark gray hue, exuding an aura of sheer malevolence.
Terry stood in awe and trepidation, facing this newfound horror. The battle had entered a final, cataclysmic phase, where the stakes had been raised beyond imagination.
As Terry jumped away from the monstrous adversary, the beast pursued him relentlessly, its colossal form casting a shadow over him. It swung its massive claws with terrifying force, aiming to tear Terry apart.
Terry raised his sword, determined to defend himself against the impending onslaught. The impact when the creature’s claws collided with his blade sent shockwaves of pain coursing through his arms and shoulders. The sheer force behind the blow sent Terry spinning uncontrollably through the air, disorienting him.
His back slammed against a nearby wall with a bone-jarring thud, intensifying the pain. He grimaced as the agony surged through his body. Before he could even regain his bearings, the monstrous entity closed the gap, relentless in its pursuit.
As Terry blocked the next devastating attack from the monstrous adversary, the sheer power behind the strike caused his back to smash through the wall behind him. Wood and stone shattered upon impact, sending debris flying in all directions. The force of the blow reverberated through his body, intensifying the pain that already pulsed through his limbs.
As the ferocious battle raged on, Terry and the monstrous creature continued their destructive path through the castle’s labyrinthine corridors. Finally, they found themselves in a grand throne room, adorned with ominous tapestries and dark, ancient decor. The room’s vastness provided some respite, but the relentless enemy wasted no time in launching another brutal assault.
The monster’s claws sliced through the air with a frightening swiftness, forcing Terry to deflect and evade each savage blow. With every impact, the room trembled, and the walls shattered as if made of paper, sending fragments of stone and debris hurtling in all directions. The sheer force of their conflict was leaving an indelible mark on the once-grandiose chamber, reducing it to a chaotic battleground.
"It decided to stop being sneaky, but in this berserker state, the monster is even worse..." Terry thought while clenching his teeth.
