Chapter 217: Sky

Without further hesitation, Terry stepped through the portal. His resolve was unwavering, and he knew that he needed to keep moving forward, gaining precious time to prepare for whatever challenges lay ahead. I

As Terry emerged from the portal, he found himself suspended in the air, surrounded by nothing but a sea of clouds. With a puzzled frown, he began to descend, plummeting through the thick mist until he finally made contact with solid ground. It seemed that his journey had taken yet another unexpected turn, and he was now in an entirely another new and unfamiliar location. He was used to that, though.

As Terry rose to his feet and assumed a defensive stance, he couldn’t help but furrow his brow in confusion. The clouds above him were positioned unusually low, hanging just fifty meters overhead. It was an unusual sight, as clouds should typically be high in the sky, not hovering so close to the ground. This anomaly only deepened the sense of unease that had settled in Terry’s mind.

Terry’s sharp eyes scanned his surroundings, and before long, he noticed something peculiar. The ground he stood on seemed to have edges, and upon closer inspection, he realized that he was on a floating island. As he approached the edge and peered over, he was met with a breathtaking sight. Below him stretched a seemingly endless expanse of floating islands, each suspended in the air with a surreal quality.

Hundreds of these islands dotted the skies, some large, others small, forming a mesmerizing, otherworldly landscape. The ground, or rather the air, was a mosaic of earthy formations, greenery, and even some waterfalls cascading down from above islands. Terry couldn’t fathom how these islands were defying gravity, and the sheer vastness of this mysterious realm left him in awe and wonder. However, he couldn’t afford to be entranced for too long. 𝕗𝗿𝕖𝐞𝐰𝗲𝕓𝐧𝕠𝕧𝗲𝐥.𝚌𝐨𝚖

"This is probably the most alien of the alien worlds I have been so far..." Terry thought.

"If you survive this state, I will give you some answers, Terry," Louis said. "I also convinced the audience to free Rebecca and her siblings if you show us a good enough show."

"Well, I am thankful for your generosity," Terry said while showing a fake smile.

Terry realized that in a place as vast and strange as this, finding his elusive adversary would be no small feat. With a determined expression, he decided to take a methodical approach. He began by scanning his current island carefully, checking every nook and cranny, but found no sign of the enemy.

Not one to be deterred, Terry knew he had to start somewhere. He spread his wings and took off into the air, heading for the nearest floating island. As he landed on the next one, he repeated his meticulous search, going from corner to corner, checking behind hills, and scrutinizing any hiding spots. Still, there was no trace of his next foe.

As Terry continued his search across the floating islands, he couldn’t shake the feeling that he might be missing something important. It seemed that his adversary was nowhere to be found on the islands above, and a new hunch began to take root in his mind.

With a deep breath and a determined resolve, Terry decided to change his approach. He looked down at the vast expanse below him and made a decision to descend further, towards the unknown depths beneath the floating islands. It was a risk, but he couldn’t dismiss the possibility that his enemy might be lurking in the lower realms of this peculiar world.

As he peered downward from the edge of the floating island, he was met with a seemingly endless sea of clouds. It was as if the islands were suspended high above a vast, impenetrable mist.

The thick clouds obscured any view of what lay beneath, leaving Terry with a profound sense of isolation and uncertainty. It was a disorienting sight, one that left him pondering the true nature of this mysterious realm. The lack of a visible ground or any discernible landmarks only added to the enigma that shrouded his surroundings.

"What the hell is this world..." Terry said

As Terry teetered on the edge of the floating island, contemplating the ominous descent into the cloud-covered abyss below, his heightened senses suddenly detected a subtle shift in the atmosphere. It was as if the very air around him had taken on a different quality. And then, a sound reached his ears, faint but unmistakable.

A distant, melodic hum resonated through the air, like the haunting notes of an otherworldly song. It was a sound that defied explanation, simultaneously enchanting and eerie. Terry strained to pinpoint the source of the sound, scanning the sky and the surrounding islands for any sign of movement.

As Terry strained his senses to follow the eerie, melodic hum, the distant grunts grew progressively louder and more distinct. He could feel the vibrations of a powerful presence approaching. And then, like a majestic monolith emerging from the heavens, a colossal form materialized before him.

It was a massive silver dragon, its scales shimmering like moonlight on water. The creature’s wings stretched wide, casting a shadow over the island as it descended gracefully from the clouds. Its powerful muscles rippled beneath its silvery skin, and its eyes, the color of molten silver, fixated on Terry with an intelligent gaze.

The dragon’s body stretched an awe-inspiring one hundred meters in length, making it a formidable presence that dominated the landscape. Its scales, which covered its body like a suit of gleaming armor, glistened with an otherworldly sheen, reminiscent of polished titanium. Each scale was a work of art, reflecting the light in a mesmerizing dance of silvery hues.

The dragon’s wings, like the sails of a majestic ship, were expansive and powerful, spanning almost as wide as its body. Their edges tapered gracefully, and the membranes between the bones were stretched tight, ready to harness the power of the winds. These wings were a testament to the creature’s mastery of the skies.

Its head, crowned with ridges and adorned with horns, was an intricate masterpiece of design. The dragon’s eyes were like twin orbs of liquid silver, glowing with an inner light that held the wisdom of centuries. They bore a depth of knowledge and an intelligence that was both humbling and captivating.

"This one will be hard to kill, but the materials... I will be able to make a lot of good stuff with it," Terry thought while smiling.

Terry’s heart raced as the colossal silver dragon approached, and his initial sense of wonder quickly turned to apprehension. He watched in shock as the dragon unleashed a relentless barrage of metallic spears with astonishing speed and precision. The projectiles shot through the air like deadly meteors, their gleaming surfaces reflecting the sunlight.

Terry’s instincts kicked in, and he moved with lightning speed, dodging and deflecting the incoming spears with his weapon. Each deflection sent the spears hurtling off course, some of them embedding themselves into the rocky surface of the floating island.

The impacts of the metallic spears hitting the floating island were cataclysmic. The massive projectiles struck with the force of a meteor shower, tearing through the surface as if it were paper. Each impact sent shockwaves rippling through the island’s structure, causing the ground to tremble violently.

With each successive hit, the island’s integrity weakened, and deep fractures began to form. Terry watched in dread as the once-solid landmass started to split apart. The cracks snaked through the ground, branching out like the veins of a colossal creature. The sky island, once a single, stable piece, was now on the verge of a catastrophic rupture.

"You have got to be kidding me," Terry thought and then jumped with all his might toward the nearest Island.

Terry watched in awe and trepidation as the massive silver dragon gracefully curved through the sky, coming around for another pass. Despite its immense size and weight, the creature moved with astonishing speed and agility. Its wings sliced through the air with a sound akin to an airplane soaring through the heavens.

The dragon’s approach was both awe-inspiring and terrifying. Terry knew that he had to prepare himself for another round of the dragon’s relentless assault. The ground beneath his feet still trembled from the previous blasts of wind, adding to the sense of impending danger.

As Terry confronted the colossal silver dragon, a realization dawned upon him – this creature had to be an overlord. There was no other plausible explanation for its immense power and presence. While he had encountered dragons before, this one stood leagues above them in terms of sheer might and prowess.

It was a being of immeasurable strength, a true embodiment of terror and dominance, and it made the fire dragon he had faced earlier seem like a mere flicker in comparison. The challenge before him was monumental, and Terry knew he had to muster every ounce of his strength and wit to stand any chance against this formidable overlord.
