Only My Weapons Level UP
Chapter 71: Teamwork
The guild masters exchanged bewildered glances, struggling to comprehend the audacity of Terry’s demand. It seemed that along with his determination to face the mission alone, he now insisted on claiming all of the rewards in exchange for merely powering up their weapons slightly, even though they didn’t know how much slightly would actually be.
Their voices finally found their way through the stunned silence as they voiced their objections, questioning Terry’s motives and labeling his demand as both greedy and unreasonable. They argued that the rewards of a mission should be shared among all members who had contributed their time, effort, and lives to its success.
Some expressed their disappointment in Terry’s seeming disregard for the spirit of teamwork and solidarity that the guilds stood for. They reminded him that the guilds were built on the principles of cooperation and mutual support and that no individual should seek to gain everything for themselves at the expense of others.
Others questioned the fairness of such a proposition, emphasizing that it undermined the bonds of trust and camaraderie that held the guilds together. They feared that granting Terry sole ownership of the rewards would set a dangerous precedent and sow discord among the guild masters.
Terry ignored the complaints, but Vanessa gave a hand and explained things a bit. She didn’t give many details, but she showed everyone what she could do with her enhanced magic and bow, and she explained that it was thanks to him. They found it hard to believe since no trait could do something like that... it didn’t make any sense.
They asked for a demonstration, and Terry rolled his eyes since he would have to leave the area and hunt some monsters. Despite the fact that they asked for it, they hesitated in lending their weapons to him.

Carrying that around had been a huge pain in the ass. Still, at least it made Terry understand that the difference in ranking of the equipment was really something else. His blacksmiths were doing a good job considering that they just started working, but they still had room for growth.
In any case, Terry found a group of monsters after not so long, and just killing one each made the weapons level up. The difference should be clear to them now. Still, Terry decided to make it more obvious, so he hunted until morning and made the weapons reach level five.
The guild masters’ expressions shifted from skepticism to shock as they witnessed Terry’s incredible craftsmanship in enhancing their weapons. Their eyes widened, and their jaws dropped as they held their newly empowered weapons in their hands. A mixture of awe and disbelief filled the air as they felt the surge of power coursing through their veins.
They stood in awe of Terry’s craftsmanship and felt a newfound sense of power and purpose. With their enhanced weapons in hand, they were ready to face any challenge that awaited them. The guild masters exchanged glances, their expressions filled with determination and gratitude towards Terry for the tremendous gift he had bestowed upon them.
Now they could understand how come he was so sure of himself, and he demanded what he did.
Although the guild masters still were in a weakened state. The buff of their weapons made them become stronger than they were before, to the point where they didn’t have much of a hard time fighting the fire drakes as soon as they began to move on the next morning.
"We are forty kilometers away from the base... while we won’t find reinforcements there, we should be able to use some other communication devices and supplies there," Vanessa said. "Should we hurry up?"
"We will just walk for three hours and let them get used to their weapons, then we will dash toward the base after eating some fire drakes for breakfast," Terry replied.
"What if it is poisonous?" Vanessa asked.
"Any poison will only enhance the taste of the meat," Terry shrugged.
"I wonder what kind of childhood you had to think that way..." Vanessa furrowed her eyebrows. "I also had a rough one, but I never liked monster’s meat."
During the day, the area near the border appeared desolate and ravaged. The once smooth roads that stretched across the landscape were now marred and scarred, with several sections melted and distorted due to the intense heat unleashed by the fire drakes. The asphalt had turned into a mixture of charred debris and hardened blackened patches, making navigation treacherous.
As Terry and the guild masters surveyed the surroundings, they could see the remnants of destroyed vehicles and scattered debris that bore witness to the chaotic battles that had taken place. The scorch marks on the ground and the faint smell of burning hung in the air, serving as a constant reminder of the fire drakes’ destructive power.
During the whole trip before breakfast, Terry watched the guild masters with eyes filled with suspicion. They didn’t do anything that could be considered odd, but they sure looked excited with their enhanced weapons.
With each swing of their swords, the release of an arrow, or a shot of magical energy, the guild masters felt the immense power coursing through their bodies. Their attacks were now infused with newfound strength, striking with precision and impact that surpassed anything they had experienced before. The enhanced weapons responded to their wielders’ commands effortlessly, becoming extensions of their own will.
The guild masters exchanged glances, their faces glowing with a sense of pride and awe. They marveled at the enhanced capabilities of their weapons, witnessing the tangible results of Terry’s traits and expertise. With each successful strike, their confidence grew, bolstered by the knowledge that they now possessed a formidable edge against their enemies.
