Only My Weapons Level UP
Chapter 82: Overlord
"I am the overlord of this land; these weaklings are my children that are born when I have too much energy inside me," The fire dragon said while looking at the fire dragons. "I have been living for over five hundred years. Do you think that you can defeat me knowing all that?"
"You can stop flexing now. I am waiting for the real information, nothing that you said managed to sway me even in the slightest," Terry shrugged.
"You saw those other humans. You saw the power that I can offer, the power to defy death," The fire dragon said. "Bend your knee and then drink my blood to become immortal; then I will make you the overlord of Earth."
"No thanks, bro," Terry said. "Becoming the king of the world is too much of a hassle. I don’t want to have such a pain in the ass job. Between listening to everyone’s problems and becoming a tyrannical ruler, I would rather choose waste away my ears lazing around away from civilization."
Terry dislikes paperwork and bureaucracy. He knows that being the king would mean endless stacks of paperwork to sign and decisions to make, and he’d much rather play with his armor than be stuck behind a desk.
Terry also enjoys his privacy and personal space. As the king, he knows he will be constantly surrounded by advisers, guards, and a never-ending stream of people seeking his attention. He values his alone time and wouldn’t want to give that up.
Lastly, Terry doesn’t have the patience for diplomatic negotiations. He’s more of a "punch and see what happens" kind of guy. The thought of having to negotiate treaties and navigate delicate political situations doesn’t align with his straightforward approach.
"I could list a bunch of reasons to you, but I would rather avoid wasting my time," Terry shrugged. "Still, give your best shot to convince me."
"... You must really think that I value your trait that much. Turning you into a mindless minion is also an option," The fire dragon glared at Terry and then landed in front of him. 𝚏𝗿𝗲𝐞𝐰𝚎𝕓𝐧𝚘𝘃𝗲𝐥.𝐜𝚘𝕞
*Then, you are welcome to try that," Terry said. "I know very well how useful my trait is; it made me stronger than almost everyone in my country... you won’t convince me otherwise."
"... Arrogant human," The fire dragon said and then suddenly attacked Terry with its mouth wide open to eat him.
Rebecca used her earth spears to attack the monster, and Vanessa used her wind magic to make Terry move faster... unfortunately, they didn’t do it fast enough. Terry disappeared in front of them, and then the dragon smirked with his mouth closed after he raised his head.
Still, while everyone was shocked about what had happened... the monster suddenly trembled as a vibration echoed from inside its mouth. The same thing happened again and again until his smirk turned into an expression of pain.
Terry found himself in a rather uncomfortable and slimy predicament inside the dragon’s mouth. The dragon’s saliva gushed around him, its tongue thrashing wildly in an attempt to dislodge the intruder. But Terry remained undeterred, his determination burning brighter than ever.
"I avoided the teeth, but this is rather unpleasant... I should make this a quick work," Terry thought.
With nimble agility, Terry used the moist and slippery terrain to his advantage. He hopped and leaped from one tooth to another, expertly avoiding the dragon’s lethal bite. The interior of the dragon’s mouth, much to everyone’s surprise, began to vibrate uncontrollably as Terry’s relentless strikes hit their mark.
The vibrations reverberated through the dragon’s jaw, causing the mighty creature intense discomfort. It let out a roar of agony, a mix of pain and confusion. The onlookers, realizing Terry’s audacious plan, were equal parts amazed and amused by the absurdity of the situation.
While most would find being trapped inside a dragon’s mouth a terrifying ordeal, Terry had managed to turn the tables. His unexpected assault from within had the dragon reeling, its attempt to devour him backfiring in a spectacularly unexpected manner.
Outside the dragon’s mouth, the audience watched in awe and amusement. They couldn’t help but marvel at Terry’s ingenuity and resilience. What had initially appeared to be a dire situation now had the dragon desperately trying to dislodge its unwelcome guest.
The giant beast began to cough blood since Terry’s strikes were causing a lot of damage; the beast didn’t have scales inside its mouth, after all.
As the battle with the fire dragon raged on, the mighty creature, in a desperate attempt to regain the upper hand, unleashed a torrent of scorching flames from its gaping maw. The searing heat and intense blaze threatened to consume everything in its path.
But in the face of this fiery onslaught, Terry’s quick thinking saved the day. Spotting the dragon’s long, serpent-like tongue slithering beneath him, he seized the opportunity. He leaped onto the elongated appendage with lightning reflexes, using it as an impromptu shield against the deadly flames.
The dragon’s flames collided with the fleshy surface of its own tongue, creating a remarkable spectacle of fire and resistance. The dragon recoiled in surprise, momentarily taken aback by this unexpected turn of events.
Terry, using the dragon’s tongue as a makeshift shield, maneuvered skillfully to deflect the searing flames away from himself and his comrades. The dragon’s own attack became its downfall, as the fire that once served as a deadly weapon now only harmed itself.
The dragon roared in frustration, its efforts to scorch Terry and his companions thwarted by its own fiery breath.
Terry’s resourcefulness and ability to turn the tables on the formidable beast left everyone in awe. It was basically his trademark at that point.
With each blast of fire, the dragon’s confusion grew as it inadvertently inflicted damage upon itself. Its scales sizzled, its once-mighty flames diminished by its own misguided assault. Terry, shielded by the dragon’s own anatomy, pressed on, unfazed by the ferocious display before him.
