Only My Weapons Level UP
Chapter 96: Regeneration
The airplane skidded and slipped on the icy surface, struggling to maintain control. The snow acted as a slippery obstacle, causing the wheels to lose traction and the plane to veer off course. Terry’s heart raced as he held onto his seat, bracing for impact and hoping that the aircraft would come to a safe stop.
The pilots expertly steered the airplane, fighting against the slick conditions to regain control. The passengers could feel the tense atmosphere inside the cabin as the plane slid across the runway. It was a nerve-wracking experience, but the pilots managed to guide the aircraft to a halt, albeit a bit farther from the intended landing spot.
The sudden halt sent a slight jolt through the cabin, causing some passengers to grip their armrests tightly. Terry glanced out of the window and saw the runway covered in tire tracks, evidence of the airplane’s struggle to maintain stability on the snowy surface.
Once the airplane landed, the group left in a hurry to secure the area. Just like Vanessa said, it didn’t take long for some trolls to appear from all directions and come at them.
"Rebecca, protect your siblings and the pilots inside the plane. Only leave when I give the order," Terry declared. "I have a feeling that we will get some more surprises here."
"Roger," Rebecca said and then returned to the interior of the aircraft.
As the other guild masters eagerly gathered around, their eyes filled with anticipation, Terry couldn’t help but let out a weary sigh. He had always preferred to work behind the scenes, avoiding the spotlight and focusing on the task at hand. However, he knew that his reputation as a formidable fighter had piqued their curiosity, and they were eager to witness his skills firsthand.
Though reluctant to be the center of attention, Terry understood the importance of showcasing his abilities, especially in front of his fellow guild masters. With a firm resolve, he decided to take on the monsters alone, knowing that it would allow him to fully test and push the limits of his power armor and level it up as well.
The trolls charged forward with surprising speed, their movements resembling that of mighty gorillas. Terry responded swiftly, launching a barrage of Fire Swords toward the oncoming beasts. However, their arms rose in a defensive stance, effortlessly blocking the fiery projectiles. It was as if their thick limbs were impenetrable shields.
To Terry’s dismay, the wounds inflicted upon the trolls by his relentless assault began closing at an astonishing rate. The gaping cuts and burns rapidly healed before his eyes as if their flesh possessed some kind of unnatural regenerative ability. It was clear that these creatures were resilient adversaries, capable of withstanding and recovering from the most grievous injuries.
As the trolls closed in, their primal instincts driving them to retaliate against Terry’s relentless assault, they charged with thunderous footsteps. Recognizing the danger of being surrounded, Terry swiftly shifted his position, deftly maneuvering amidst the chaos of battle. He evaded the oncoming onslaught, sidestepping and leaping with agility to avoid being trapped in their grasp.
With each nimble movement, Terry strategically positioned himself, maintaining a distance that allowed him to effectively engage the trolls one by one. He danced through the frenzied battlefield, his footsteps matching the rhythm of combat, ensuring that he remained a step ahead of the encroaching beasts.
In a daring display of power and precision, Terry conjured Fire Swords, its flames dancing and flickering with intensity. Seizing the opportunity, he launched the flaming weapons toward the face of one of the approaching trolls. As the sword made contact, a powerful explosion erupted, engulfing the troll in a searing blaze.
With the troll momentarily disoriented by the explosive impact, Terry seized the advantage, swiftly leaping onto its hulking back. His muscles strained with determination as he positioned himself above the creature’s head, his arms raised high with a singular intent.
Terry brought down his arms with crushing force, his fists connecting with the troll’s skull. The resounding impact reverberated through the air as bone shattered and the monstrous creature crumpled beneath Terry’s might. The force of his strike magnified the weight of his attack, leaving the troll dead beneath him.
Terry did the same thing over and over again and killed the trolls... or so he thought that he did it. With a mix of disbelief and growing frustration, Terry watched as the trolls he had just defeated began to stir once more. Their wounds, which should have been fatal, closed at an alarming rate, mending their battered bodies with unnatural swiftness. It was as if their regenerative abilities defied all logical explanations.
Undeterred by the seemingly impossible feat, Terry steeled his resolve and adjusted his strategy. He knew that a different approach was needed to overcome these relentless adversaries. He couldn’t rely on the same tactics that had proven effective against lesser foes.
"What kind of crazy regeneration speed is this... even if they suffer brain damage, they still can heal?"
Terry found himself surrounded by a horde of enemies, closing in from all directions. He swiftly evaded their attacks with incredible speed and agility, dodging, ducking, and weaving with ease. With every strike, he unleashed his fire swords at the hearts of the trolls, creating fiery explosions that engulfed his foes.
As his enemies lunged at him, Terry countered their assaults with swift punches and kicks, his fists and feet finding their marks with precision. He aimed for vulnerable spots, delivering bone-crushing blows and killing his targets once and for all.
It took longer than everyone expected, but it couldn’t be helped, given that they didn’t know how tough the enemies were. Still, the guild masters looked satisfied.
"Is the show of your liking?" Terry asked. "Are you not entertained?"
"Let’s assume our positions, half of us will secure the area while the others will check the hangar. The hunters of the area should be waiting for us there," Vanessa said.
