Chapter 960: Attack (Part 2)
Flamel found himself at a loss for how to respond to Pei Yan's sudden praise, vaguely feeling as though he had stepped into the opponent's trap.
"Since we're talking reason, let's bring everything to light. Everyone should have seen the battle on the stage just now, do I even need to say what Moira's true identity is? Flamel, you're a person from the Magic Realm, surely you're aware!"
Upon hearing Pei Yan's questioning voice, the Magic Realm's representatives fell silent. Flamel was rendered speechless by this remark, as he was vaguely aware that Moira was of the Blood Race. However, he was powerless over his teacher's arrangements and considered this an attempt to woo the Dark Council, which he accepted willingly, though everything had to be done in secrecy. Now, this revelation was equivalent to having been caught off guard.
"Pei Yan, are you saying Moira is of the Blood Race? Just because you can use Demon Race techniques, does that make you one too? It's merely a technique of bloodline fusion, which indeed originates from the Blood Race, yet here you are using it, and so is Blood Shear! Can we not draw connections between you two!" Richard quickly stepped forward to rescue Flamel from his predicament.
His words instantly won the support of the people from the Magic Realm. Seeing this, Pei Yan snorted coldly in disdain: "I knew you wouldn't admit it! Du Guangyuan, come out!"
With Pei Yan's call, the figure who had been hiding in the shadows all along stepped onto the stage, pulling back his hood to reveal his true face. It was none other than Du Guangyuan, who had attacked Vlad II and subsequently sought refuge in the investigation hall to fend off pursuit.
Pei Yan casually pointed at Du Guangyuan and introduced him, "You know what? Today's situation is all because your Magic Realm overreached. He is a pawn left by the famous Vlad family from the Blood Race in the foundation realm. Blood from the Blood Race flows within him! And it's exactly because of this that he knows the secrets to curb the Blood Race. If his methods are not enough to convince, there are experts here who can thoroughly check Moira one more time. Whether she truly is of bloodline fusion or indeed of the Blood Race can easily be confirmed. If my judgment is wrong, I'll willingly accept any punishment from the Magic Realm after withdrawing from the match. I ask you, are you willing to have everyone checked?"
Once again, Pei Yan's words silenced doubters from the Magic Realm, as they knew if investigated, this matter could not be concealed, and they would only end up more embarrassed.
"Even if she's truly a member of the Blood Race, it is our Magic Realm's own business to deal with. You, as an outsider, shouldn't interfere!" Someone from the Magic Realm barked back seeing that argument didn't work.
"Exactly! That's right, even if she is from the Blood Race, it's our Magic Realm's problem. Let her return with us for investigation afterward, we'll give you a satisfactory reply!" Others chimed in agreeing with the retort.
Pei Yan arched an eyebrow and glanced at the speaker with a cold smile: "This matter isn't just your concern. Did you hear what I said earlier? He's a descendant of one of the largest families in the Blood Race, the Vlad family. His father once killed an investigator of ours and severely injured my friend. The original master of the Magic Realm was present then. It was him who suppressed the blood curse inside my friend. My friend is now on the brink of life while you took the murderer's son as a disciple, nurturing him into a Child of Origin. Is this the attitude toward an ally?"
"Pei Yan, ultimately this is a personal matter of yours. I mentioned this is the Sword Discussion Conference arena, where wins and losses are all that matter. Personal vendettas shouldn't disrupt proceedings here. Your friend got injured? You're angry, you want to pursue it! We've lost two Round Table Knights during this match as well! Do you realize how significant they are to our Magic Realm? Yet are we entangled in this with you? Let her return first, and you can settle your vendetta later!" Richard argued fiercely.
"Fine! You say this is my personal grievance, a private matter! Then let's not discuss this anymore, let's talk business!" Pei Yan spoke, glancing aside at Flamel, sneering: "Flamel, you claim Moira is your fiancΓ©e, right? Do you know her true nature?"
"Hmph, what's there not to understand? She's just a member of the Blood Race, right? Pei Yan, there's no need to keep pressing on this matter. Yes, the Dark Council is indeed ambiguous with the Blood Shear and hunted by the three major councils! But historically, in the Dark Council, werewolves and witches, mages, Fallen Knights, and even defectors from the Blood Race are countless. Moira could very well be one of them." Flamel retorted with a cold, sarcastic tone. ππ«ππ²π¨πππππ―ππΉ.ππ¨πΊ
"Is that so? Looks like you really don't know, huh? I wonder if this counts as the teacher tricking the disciple?" Pei Yan spoke, and a cruel, grim smile enveloped his face, intentionally raising his voice, "Do you remember what I just said? I said 'the son of the killer,' not 'the daughter!' The soul inside your fiancΓ©e is actually the eldest son of the Vlad family! Do you still love her now?"
Upon hearing Pei Yan's words, Flamel froze as though struck by lightning. After a silent moment, as he regained his senses, he furiously charged forward, shouting, "Pei Yan, how dare you humiliate me like this!"
"Humiliate you? What I said is the truth! Do you need me to find witnesses and evidence for you?" Pei Yan said, turning his head and sternly addressing Du Guangyuan: "Du Guangyuan, explain the origins and background of everyone involved so he knows Moira's real history!"
Du Guangyuan, who had been watching the spectacle from the sidelines, seeing Pei Yan call upon him again, stepped forward voluntarily, motivated by both the desire to continue surviving under protection and his hatred towards the Vlad family. He narrated his grudge against the Vlad family, including how he wounded Vlad II and subsequently faced retaliation succinctly.
The entire audience, in the process of Du Guangyuan's account, understood the entire sequence of events clearly. Flamel stood frozen on the spot, dumbfounded, unable to recover from these words for a long time.
"Pei Yan! Even if everything he said is true, so what? Is this not still a personal feud between you, Moira, oh, Indeed, Vlad II?" Seeing Flamel in this state, someone from the Magic Camp stepped forward hesitantly argued.
"What did you say? You said this is a personal feud?" Pei Yan was momentarily taken aback, followed by an incredulous response.
"Isn't it? From here, all I've heard is animosity between this person and the Vlad family. Why, are you planning to fight for this betrayer?"
