Our Anniversary, You Chose Her – I Chose Divorce
Chapter 116: Do You Think I’d Sell Him?
A screenshot of a social media post came into view.
Walker Grant’s sharp brows furrowed, and his expression darkened. He turned the steering wheel and drove to the residential complex where Sunny Reed lived.
The nanny was playing with Noah Grant.
The little one was overjoyed to see Walker Grant arrive.
"Uncle!"
He lunged forward, and Walker Grant scooped him up in his arms.
Walker Grant said, "How about you come have some fun with Uncle?"
"Okay!"
Hearing this, Noah Grant was ecstatic. He threw his arms around Walker’s neck, his eyes sparkling brightly.
Carrying the little one, Walker Grant started to leave.
Seeing this, the nanny instinctively asked, "Mr. Walker, where are you taking the young master?"
Walker Grant retorted, "Do you think I’m going to sell him?"
The nanny looked sheepish. "N-no, that’s not what I meant."
Walker Grant withdrew his gaze, his expression cold, and left without another word.
After a moment’s hesitation, the nanny told Sunny Reed what had happened.
The car went straight to the Grant Group.
Walker Grant carried Noah Grant up to the executive offices. The whole way, the little one looked around curiously, his head turning this way and that.
"Do you like it here?"
Walker Grant asked, looking down at him.
Noah nodded. "I like it."
Then, he looked at Walker Grant and said, "But I like being with Uncle more."
A small smile played on Walker Grant’s lips. He told Dylan Finch to go buy some snacks and toys, then carried the little one into the office.
...
When Sunny Reed heard the news, the color drained from her face. She dropped her work immediately and frantically called Walker Grant.
But she called several times in a row, and Walker Grant never answered.
She was in a full-blown panic. She went straight to her supervisor to ask for time off.
The supervisor, however, replied with a stern face, "You were already late today. You’re not finished with your tasks, you’ve made no progress on the recording, and now you want to leave? Do you think you own this company?"
Sunny Reed said desperately, "My son is missing! I have to go find him. I’ll come back and work overtime after I find him."
The supervisor waved her off impatiently. "Fine, fine, just go."
Sunny Reed hastily grabbed her bag and left.
Chloe Reed, who happened to be passing by, saw this scene and raised an eyebrow.
’Noah Grant is missing?’
’Did that little brat wander off again?’
She glanced at the supervisor, then walked over and said, "You can make a note of all this. Wait until the month-end performance review, then submit it. Even if she was pushed into this job by someone, if she’s dragging down the team’s progress, then she’s the one at fault."
The supervisor just looked at her, not taking the bait. "You should get back to your own work."
Chloe Reed smirked and returned to her desk.
’My mood has suddenly improved.’
She went back to studying her script, then recorded her parts for two more episodes before finally leaving for the day.
...
Sunny Reed went straight to the Grant Group.
When she reached the executive offices and saw Noah sitting on the carpet, playing, she let out a huge sigh of relief.
Then, she turned to face Walker Grant, her eyes filled with pain. "Walker, didn’t I already agree? Why would you do this?"
’How could he just take my son away without a word?’
’He’s my son!’
Walker Grant had just finished reviewing a document. He looked up at her, his gaze as cold as frost. "Sunny, stop doing these ambiguous things that cause misunderstandings. You always used to say that Chloe was the one who misunderstood you, and I actually believed you before. But I don’t really believe you anymore."
Sunny Reed froze. Suppressing the panic rising in her heart, she quickly said, "Walker, you’re misunderstanding me. I didn’t do anything."
Her eyes darted nervously. "Did someone say something to you? I really haven’t done anything. You know perfectly well that the one I love is your older brother!"
