Our Anniversary, You Chose Her – I Chose Divorce
Chapter 578: Must Lock the Door
He still hadn’t thought of a plan, but Chloe Reed did something that took him completely by surprise.
He tiptoed over and gazed at the scene for a long time. He couldn’t help but think, ’If I hadn’t gotten a vasectomy, would our child be this old by now?’
’Would she be even more gentle with them than she is with Noah?’
’And would we... not be getting a divorce?’
A dark glint flashed deep within Walker Grant’s narrow eyes. He leaned down, swept Chloe Reed into his arms, and walked straight out of the room.
Once the door was closed, Chloe Reed opened her eyes, her brows knitting slightly as she looked at him. "Put me down."
Walker Grant tightened his arms, his voice husky. "Not letting go."
He strode upstairs with his long legs, pressed her onto the bed, and began to kiss her urgently.
"Mmph..."
Chloe Reed let out a muffled grunt and pushed at him, but he was unusually excited, as if he were on something. He kissed her so intensely she could hardly breathe!
After a long moment, he finally let her go, though he continued to pepper the corners of her lips with small kisses, as if he still hadn’t had his fill.
"Walker Grant, you only have one time left this month!"
Chloe Reed warned breathlessly, telling him not to get any funny ideas.
Walker Grant chuckled. "Do kisses count? I don’t think that was part of our initial agreement, was it?"
Chloe Reed’s delicate brows furrowed even more. She turned her face away. "Get off. You’re disgusting!"
Walker Grant gazed at her for a long moment before saying, "Chloe, thank you."
At his words, Chloe Reed’s eyelashes fluttered, but she remained silent.
Walker Grant got up and went to take a shower.
When he came back for her, he found that she had locked the bedroom door.
She was determined not to let him in tonight, no matter what.
Standing at the door, Walker Grant chuckled, then turned and walked toward the adjacent room.
...
Chloe Reed had just gotten into bed when she heard a rustling sound coming from the balcony.
She was instantly on alert, her gaze snapping toward the balcony.
’This is Jardinelle, a standalone villa with bodyguards on patrol outside. Surely no one could climb in, right?’
She glanced around but couldn’t find anything that could be used as a weapon. Her expression darkened.
Just then, a figure appeared on the balcony. She took a closer look and was instantly rendered speechless.
’Walker Grant actually climbed over from the adjacent balcony!’
He vaulted over the railing in one clean, fluid motion and landed gracefully. Standing up, he dusted off his hands, a brazen, roguish smile playing on his lips as he quirked an eyebrow at her.
"Next time, remember to lock the balcony door, too."
Chloe Reed: "..."
’This man is such a shameless rogue!’
Walker Grant washed his hands, walked over to her bed, and pulled her into his arms in a domineering embrace.
"Let go."
Chloe Reed’s expression was frosty.
Walker Grant closed his eyes. "Not letting go. Of course I have to take advantage of the time we have before our divorce to be close to you. I won’t have the chance later."
Chloe Reed: "..."
’He sounds so self-righteous.’
She stared at the ceiling and asked, "Is there still no news about Vera Holloway?"
"Not yet," Walker Grant replied.
Chloe Reed’s tone turned a few degrees colder. "Walker Grant, if you dare lie to me, I will never forgive you."
Walker Grant didn’t respond, his breathing gradually evening out.
Chloe Reed closed her eyes. Her once-troubled mind gradually grew calm, and she drifted off to sleep.
...
The next day, a maid knocked on her bedroom door, waking her.
"What is it?"
Chloe Reed walked over and opened the door, asking with a yawn.
