Overlord Tamer:I Only Tame Bosses
Chapter 58 Arrogance
Along the way, Oliver could not stop smiling widely as he looked at the new landscapes before him. Mountains stretched far into the distance, birds flew freely above, animals grazed peacefully on the grass, and endless fields of greenery expanded across the land. He breathed in the fresh air deeply until his lungs were completely filled.
In his previous life, his days had revolved around cities and modern life. He never really had time to relax or heal himself mentally because he was always busy.
Suddenly, the carriage began to slow down before finally coming to a stop. They had arrived at the town of Wildgroove within the Barony of Pashar. The town would serve as the rendezvous point for the five tamers before they departed together to Hazelbrow City to meet the Rank-S tamer.
"Alright, boy. Go to the inn and head to the meeting room. Everyone is waiting there. Later this evening, we’ll move again. Restock anything you need here if you want." the carriage driver said.
"Alright. Thank you." Oliver jumped down from the carriage and immediately walked into the town.
Just like its name, Wildgroove was filled with wild mangrove trees. Rivers flowed throughout most parts of the town, while countless small bridges connected the different areas together.
After a few minutes of walking, he arrived at the inn. He then met the innkeeper, who escorted him toward the meeting room.
Before he knocked on the door, he could already hear chatting coming from inside the room. He then opened the door and entered. Immediately, the entire room fell silent.
Inside, there were four men. One of them was sitting casually on top of the table while the other three sat on chairs listening to his story. All of them turned their heads toward Oliver at the same time.
"Good afternoon, everyone. I am Oliver, the representative from the Barony of Delpech." Oliver introduced himself while bowing respectfully.
All of them looked at each other before bursting into laughter.
"Hahaha! Did the Barony of Delpech really dispatch a commoner for this important mission? Did they actually send some village boy? Their barony must really be lacking talent nowadays." a young man sitting on the table mocked openly.
He had a thin body and a sharp chin that made his cheekbones stand out prominently. His blonde hair was neatly styled, further emphasizing his noble appearance.
’Sigh. Am I really going to be grouped with these spoiled brats?’ Oliver sighed inwardly.
With just a single glance, he could already tell that all four of them came from noble families simply from the way they dressed. Judging from their appearances, they were probably around the same age as him.
"My name is Waine, from the House of Bodwyn. These are Ingram, Barid, and Edgar. As you can see, we are all from noble families from our respective regions. The reason you were chosen to come here must either be because you truly have talent, or your father has some connection with the Baron. Well, whatever the reason is, I don’t really care." Waine said with a smirk.
"The important thing is, don’t drag us down during this mission."
"If you’re scared, just become our bag carrier and stay at the rear. Our things are pretty heavy, kekeke." Ingram added mockingly.
Oliver did not respond to their ridicule. To him, dealing with stupid and arrogant people was simply a waste of time and energy.
He calmly walked toward one of the chairs on the opposite side of the room and placed his bag there.
The four of them merely glanced at him before continuing their conversation again.
"Hey, they said the women in the city are really beautiful. How about we pay some of them and have fun? I have plenty of money thanks to my father." Waine said while munching on some nuts.
"That’s a good idea!"
"I agree!"
The other three immediately nodded in agreement.
Suddenly, a delicious aroma spread throughout the room. The smell came from Oliver’s lunch box, which his mother had prepared for him before he left home.
"Oww... he’s actually eating food made by his mother. What a good son." Waine mocked as he walked toward Oliver and casually placed a hand on his shoulder.
"Hey, what did your mom make? Can I have a taste?" Waine reached toward the food carelessly.
But just as his hand was about to touch it, Oliver suddenly grabbed his wrist tightly. Oliver slowly raised his head and stared at Waine with cold, intense eyes.
"Did I give you permission to taste it?"
Waine immediately pulled his hand away from Oliver before standing up and straightening his attire.
"Huh! What a strange guy." He scoffed before turning toward the others.
"Alright, everyone. We’re moving now. The carriage must already be waiting for us. We need to arrive at the city before midnight."
"Hey! I just started eating." Oliver protested with his mouth still full of food.
"Be late and we’ll leave you behind." Waine smirked at him.
’Tch! This damn noble! Do most nobles in this world act like this? Even Auron, whom I met before, had a much better attitude than him,’ Oliver thought before quickly gobbling down his food.
Later, they departed in a large carriage pulled by four horses. The estimated travel time was around six hours, so most of them decided to rest for a while during the journey.
Oliver slept for only an hour before deciding to check the system.

Right now, he only had two remaining free slots for his active monsters. That meant he could currently summon a maximum of five monsters at once.
The easiest way to increase those slots was by raising his Tamer Level using Dominion Cores, of which he currently had none.
He then shifted his attention toward the [Mission] menu. At the moment, there were two available missions.

"Ermmm, I need to complete this Slayer mission to get more Tamer Coins and open new packs. Speaking of packs, let’s see the new ones I haven’t opened yet before."
Every time he leveled up, he would unlock three new packs.
At Level 4, he unlocked:
[SPARK OF REBELLION]
[VERDANT WISH]
[RADIANT CLASH]
And at Level 5:
[GLACIAL ROAR]
[FALLEN JUSTICIAR]
[SWORDS OF REBELLION]
He then decided that he would open one of those packs later once he had enough Tamer Coins.
Suddenly, the carriage came to an abrupt stop, causing all the passengers to lurch forward.
At the same time, the roar of a monster echoed loudly from outside.
