Thomas Shannon snorted coldly, "As long as you don’t act foolish later on, I’ll be relieved."

Sophie Sullivan had been listening all along, without interjecting.

The whole body ached with stinging pain and in front the eyes was a blinding intense light.

Linda had to open her eyes to see, the guards had fished her out of the saltwater and were shining a bright light in her eyes.

Just a glance and the intense light burned her eyes, causing her to quickly close them.

"Open your eyes, who told you to close them?" The guard brought his baton down hard on her back.

Linda gritted her teeth tightly, yet could not suppress a cry of pain.

Just as Linda was being tortured and fainted again, a guard walked quickly over, stopping the other guard’s actions.

"Stop beating her, Miss said to release her."

"Release her?" The guard was surprised, "Didn’t Miss say to punish her well?"

"It was a call from Your Excellency Mr. President. No one knows who is rescuing her, but he’s asking for her specifically."

To alert Your Excellency Mr. President, this person’s identity must be extraordinary.

The guard immediately stopped all his actions, put away the baton, and pulled Linda, covered in blood mixed with sweat and saltwater, up from the ground.

Edward Benson stood by the cordon at the Presidential Mansion doorway, until... two guards carried the half-dead Linda out on either side of them.

Her legs could no longer move, her body was dragged by the guards, her toes leaving a long water mark on the ground, faintly tinged with blood.

After handing the person to Edward Benson, the guards turned and left.

Edward Benson held the barely alive Linda in his embrace, his heart tightened abruptly with a dull pain, "Isla, what’s wrong, don’t scare me. Open your eyes and look at me..."
