Piss Off, Alpha! You Lost Me Forever
Chapter 244 I Do Care
SOPHIA’S POV
When I regained consciousness again, the first thing I felt was pain, Not emotional pain this time. It was physical pain.
I felt a deep ache spreading through my entire lower body. My head throbbed badly. Even breathing felt difficult. My body felt weak and hollow at the same time, like something important had been ripped out of me completely.
The hospital room was a bit dark.
My wolf was totally quiet inside me. She was grieving. I could feel it.
I looked across the room. Damien stood near the window again. But unlike before, something about him felt terrifying now.
His back remained rigid while one hand gripped several papers tightly. His shoulders looked tense enough to snap completely, and even from here, I could feel the rage radiating from him.
That must be the medical report.
The silence in the room felt suffocating. Then finally, Damien turned around.
The moment I saw his face properly, my stomach twisted painfully.
He looked furious. His eyes were bloodshot badly, and veins stood visibly against his neck. The papers in his hand were crumpled tightly now from how hard he gripped them.
My wolf immediately became alert.
“What is it?” I asked.
The moment the words left my mouth, Damien walked toward me.
Before I could react properly, he slammed the medical report directly onto the hospital bed beside me.
The loud sound startled me badly.
“You hid this from me?” he said. His voice exploded through the room
I flinched. My wolf bristled inside me too.
I looked at the papers beside me and immediately froze. Clipped together with the recent hospital documents...was another report. It was an older one.
My breathing stopped briefly.
That report... I knew it.
Months ago, shortly after my surgery complication, I discovered I had gotten pregnant before losing the baby very early. The miscarriage had been incomplete, but at the time... I hadn’t cared anymore, not after everything Damien had already put me through with Tiffany.
I had buried the truth quietly. And now somehow...he found out.
Damien’s voice shook with rage.
“You miscarried before this?” he said.
I remained silent.
“You were pregnant before and never told me?” His eyes looked terrifying now.
I looked away “There was nothing worth saying.”
Damien stared at me like he couldn’t believe what he was hearing.
“What?”
“I never planned keeping it anyway.” I muttered.
The room went completely silent. Even the air itself seemed to stop moving.
“What did you just say?” he asked quietly.
I finally looked directly at him again. I felt strangely numb now.
Too much pain had happened already. Too much disappointment. I’d faced too much betrayal. And somewhere along the way...part of me had simply stopped caring anymore.
“You heard me.” I said
Damien’s breathing became heavier
“You never wanted the child?” he asked.
I laughed bitterly “Why would I?”
“Sophia.”
“No. Let’s stop pretending for once.”
Tears burned my eyes again, but I refused to let them fall in front of him now.
“You were already building another life with Tiffany while still married to me.”
Damien clenched his fists tightly. “That’s not”
“You bought her a villa.” I continued “You protected her constantly.”
His breathing grew rougher.
“You let Ashley call her Mom right in front of me.” My voice finally cracked painfully. “And now suddenly you care about a baby?”
The silence felt sharp enough to cut skin. Damien stared at me like I’d stabbed him directly through the chest.
“You don’t get to act devastated now,” I whispered coldly. “You stopped being my husband a long time ago.”
Damien grabbed the edge of the hospital bed violently.
“Do you think this is only about you?” he growled. “You hid my child from me.”
“Our child?” I laughed bitterly again. “You barely even remembered I existed most days.”
“Sophia-”
“Tell me honestly... if Tiffany had gotten pregnant instead, would you have treated her the same way you treated me?”
The question hit him hard. I saw it immediately.
Damien couldn’t answer and his silence told me everything. Something inside my chest finally went completely cold.
My wolf lowered her head sadly inside me too.
Damien moved and grabbed my throat violently.
I gasped in shock. My wolf snarled in alarm.
Damien’s eyes looked terrifying now. They had gone completely dark.
“How dare you,” he whispered hoarsely..
Pain shot through my neck. Fear spread through me as I choked.
My weak body couldn’t even properly struggle right now.
“Damien...” I managed to whisper.
His breathing sounded ragged now.
“You think I don’t care?” His voice cracked violently. “You think losing my child means nothing to me?”
Tears finally spilled from my eyes again. My wolf cried painfully inside me.
Suddenly, Damien released me violently, too violently.
My weak body slammed sideways hard against the metal bed frame. Pain exploded through my head instantly.
I gasped in total pain. Everything blurred for a second.
Damien froze completely.
Blood slowly poured down the side of my face.
The sight seemed to finally snap him back to reality.
“Sophia-” The panic in his voice sounded real.
But honestly... I felt nothing anymore.
I touched my forehead then stared blankly at the blood staining my fingertips.
My wolf whimpered softly.
Damien moved closer. “I didn’t mean-”
“Get out.”
My voice sounded very calm now.
Damien froze again. “Sophia-”
“Get out.”
For several long seconds, he simply stared at me helplessly. Then finally, he slowly stepped backward.
For the first time in years... I saw fear in Damien Stone’s eyes.
A nurse rushed into the room after hearing the noise. The moment she saw the blood near my head, her expression changed.
Several doctors entered too.
Questions filled the room quickly while they checked my head injury carefully. Through everything, I remained completely silent while staring blankly toward the ceiling.
I was too tired to react anymore. I was too tired to cry.
One older doctor finally sighed quietly after reviewing my chart again.
“The bleeding worsened because the previous miscarriage wasn’t fully treated properly.” He explained.
My wolf whimpered sadly. I said nothing.
The doctor continued “There was remaining tissue and internal damage that should’ve been monitored more carefully months ago. Your body was already weakened before tonight’s hemorrhage.”
How ironic.
I spent years saving other people as a doctor yet I couldn’t even take care of myself properly anymore.
“You need complete rest now.” He said.
Rest.
The word sounded meaningless. How exactly was I supposed to rest after losing everything?
The doctors finished treating my head injury and they left.
It was night now.
Finally... I allowed myself to break down.
Silent tears fell down my face while I stared at the ceiling. My wolf cried quietly beside me inside my mind.
“Lost pup” she whimpered.
The words destroyed me all over again every single time.
I curled under the blanket despite the pain shooting through my abdomen. I wrapped my arms weakly around myself. It was almost like I was trying holding together the shattered pieces of my body.
I never even got the chance to know the baby existed and now, it was gone forever.
I imagined tiny fingers, a tiny heartbeat, a tiny life.
My chest hurt so badly I could barely breathe through it anymore.
Somehow...the worst part wasn’t only losing the baby. It was realizing how empty my life had truly become.
My marriage had ended. Ashley no longer wanted me. My wolf bond with Damien felt damaged beyond repair.
And now the possibility of ever having another child again had almost disappeared too.
I felt completely hollow inside.
Suddenly, the hospital room door burst open violently.
I startled in shock. My wolf became alert again.
To my surprise, Helen Stone stormed inside the room furiously. Damien’s mother looked furious beyond words.
Behind her, two nervous nurses tried stopping her unsuccessfully.
“Mrs. Stone, please calm down-” one of them said.
“Get out!” Helen screamed.
The nurses immediately fell silent and left.
Before I could even react properly, Helen marched directly toward my hospital bed and pulled the blanket off my body.
