Terrance’s victory left Mr. Tucker, the person in charge of the Danger Zone under the Hoenn League, full of admiration. He completely changed his view of this Contest Master, and even found himself somewhat impressed with the higher-ups of the Pokémon Contest faction. Being able to discover a Trainer with such potential was truly a stroke of incredible luck.

As for the four adventurers, they suffered a heavy blow, but that was no longer something Terrance needed to concern himself with. After obtaining the map and entry token for the Super-ancient Pyramid from Mr. Brandon, Terrance bid farewell to them.

“Altaria, let’s go.”

Before leaving, Terrance glanced once more at the Hoenn Desert. Unfortunately, he still had many matters to attend to; otherwise, he might have been just like Mr. Brandon, persistently clinging to the Mirage Tower and exploring it to the very end.

“Unown or space-time rifts—either way, you still owe me a fossil. I won’t forget that…”

Terrance paused slightly, clearly still holding a grudge over the lost fossil. As Altaria flapped its wings, countless grains of sand were stirred up. With Terrance closing his eyes, they shot into the sky, heading back toward Fallarbor Town.

Under the blue sky, nestled within the cotton-like feathers created by Altaria, Terrance lay down, feeling very comfortable.

As Terrance departed, Brandon and Tucker stepped out of the Battle Pyramid one after the other. Watching Terrance’s receding figure, Tucker couldn’t help but ask, “Mr. Brandon, I think this Terrance is quite good. What do you think?”

“He has extraordinary potential, but still lacks refinement. Perhaps the Super-ancient Pyramid will help him grow. Beyond that, he still needs to battle more strong opponents. In other words, he lacks pressure. His current experiences are not enough to fully bring out his potential. Right now, he’s like a fierce beast trapped in a cage, waiting for the moment the lock is opened.”

“I see…” Tucker nodded. Brandon had faced life-and-death situations many times, so his words carried weight.

As the two conversed, Terrance was already on his way to Fallarbor Town. Altaria’s flying speed was extremely fast, and with only a mountain range and a plain separating the desert from Fallarbor Town, the journey did not take them much time.

“At present, aside from you, the only ones maintaining an undefeated record in the Champion League are three others, led by Mr. Norman of Petalburg Gym. Based on the current rankings, it’s already certain that the final match of the regular season will be between you and Norman.”

In Fallarbor Town, assistant Sharan reported the latest intelligence to Terrance.

This information made Terrance feel a trace of pressure, but also ignited his fighting spirit.

“Thank you. I’ll be counting on you going forward as well.”

Before facing his 11th opponent in the Champion League, Terrance took some time to ascend Mt. Chimney, where he gathered 36 Cutiefly.

In just a few months, these 36 Cutiefly, through basic training and the development and enhancement of their Fairy Aura potential, have reached a remarkably high level of strength. After evolving, each of them would have no trouble individually taking on the main Pokémon of elite contestants from regional tournaments.

Now, in order to further perfect his Fairy army, Terrance decided that today would be the day to evolve the Cutiefly.

The 36 Cutiefly formed a circle in the air. Ninetales created a moon, whose light reflected fairy radiance and bathed them. Under the blossoming Fairy Aura of Altaria, Terrance, his Pokémon, and the Altaria of Mt. Chimney all witnessed a magnificent spectacle.

Simultaneous evolution!

These adorable little creatures were all enveloped in the light of evolution, their bodies continuously changing. In the end, they settled into a butterfly-like form, shedding their previous horsefly-like appearance.

“Ribombee, that must be how the name comes about.” [TN: Direct translation of Ribombee’s name is Bow-tie Horsefly]

Terrance glanced at them and smiled. Hearing his murmur, the Rotom Pokédex paused, checked its data, and quickly nodded.

Ribombee remained a very small Pokémon. It had a pair of large black eyes with square-shaped pupils.

Most of its body was pale yellow, while its face and abdomen were cream-colored, with the cream forming a pattern resembling a heart on its face.

What Terrance found especially adorable was the ring of brown fur around its neck, like a long scarf, with both ends resembling ribbons, giving it a graceful appearance.

Ribombee’s “bow” came from its large wings, which resembled butterfly wings. The wings were entirely transparent, with petal-like cocoa-colored patterns near the base. In addition, its four legs were especially slender, shaped like musical notes, and together with the spindle-shaped antennae on its head, it truly looked like a fairy.

“Ribombee, the Bee Fly Pokémon. It can predict weather conditions from humidity and wind direction. It only appears during prolonged sunny weather. Its pollen puffs are rich in nutrients and are sometimes sold as nutritious supplements, Roto,” the Rotom Pokédex quickly explained, eager to show off its knowledge.

It described many of Ribombee’s abilities. For instance, its pollen puffs could both help allies recover stamina and be used to repel enemies. However, what Terrance valued most was its ability to sense the emotions of Pokémon. Ribombee could transmit its perception to a Trainer through the vibrations of its wings. By partnering with Ribombee, Trainers could communicate with Pokémon on a mental level.

Terrance possessed the Fairy Mark, allowing him to communicate with Ribombee even more easily. This meant he could effortlessly sense the emotions of other Pokémon through them.

This was something neither the Rotom Pokédex nor Gardevoir’s Telepathy could compare to. While they could act as translators, they could only describe what other Pokémon wanted to express, whereas Ribombee could directly feel their emotions and connect straight to their heart.

As the light of evolution faded, the 36 Ribombee fluttered around Terrance, bringing with them waves of fragrant breeze.

“After evolution, we can further determine Ribombee’s training system. It’s a flying system centered around Fairy Wind, Silver Wind, and Quiver Dance, with the main roles being disruption and passing on the stat boosts,Roto.”

“Compared to the Cutiefly stage, Ribombee is much more proficient at manipulating air currents. With Fairy Wind and Quiver Dance as the core, it should be able to reach the second stage of Beautifly’s Wind Domain in a short time: Extreme Quiver Dance under violent air currents,” Terrance nodded after hearing the Rotom Pokédex.

For this process, they will have to rely on Beautifly and the Rotom Pokédex for guidance. As a Bug-type Pokémon, Beautifly was also an expert in air currents, and the Rotom Pokédex was even more precise than Terrance in analyzing details. With their help, mastering an already well-developed technique system would not be difficult.

With this technique in place, the Ribombee could be considered battle-ready in the short term. Even when integrated into the Fairy army, they would provide considerable strength, especially with evasion techniques, greatly enhancing their survivability.

“Let’s head back. Then, with your new forms, go grace the flower fields. I’ll prepare some new sweets for you later.” Terrance extended his hand. One by one, the Ribombee rushed to land on it, but due to limited space, a few slower ones were left circling innocently in the air, looking at a loss.

With their evolution complete, the Ribombee needed to return to the flower fields to carry out today’s tasks. At the same time, Terrance was about to get busy as well…
