Pregnant and Pampered: The Heiress in a Military Compound
Chapter 87: Domestic Orders
Xie Changning carefully collected all the business cards.
"The new record-holder for a single deal is here!" After Xie Changning finished signing all the orders, someone announced her results to the crowd.
Compared to everyone else, Xie Changning’s deals alone exceeded a hundred million!
This was the largest single deal in the history of China! It was the new ceiling, the absolute limit!
When the news reached the guest house, everyone rushed to congratulate Xie Changning.
A few people were jealous, but there was nothing they could do. Everyone was trying to build connections with Xie Changning, especially the factories that earned less foreign currency. They all contacted her, hoping she could outsource the production of some parts to them.
Xie Changning did indeed need the help of other factories to reach her goal of selling 5,000 printers by the next Spring Trade Fair.
But she wasn’t the type to trust just anyone or partner with just anybody.
She had to observe them first and clear it with the leadership before she could choose from the many factories.
Besides outsourcing, Xie Changning’s top priority was expansion. Once the expansion was complete, the factory’s production capacity would instantly double.
By the time of the Spring Trade Fair, she could double the sales of her small printers, or even several times more.
Of course, that was all a matter for later.
Before Xie Changning and her team could even return to Hui Chun City, Yu Chunhe and Xie Changyi delightedly threw a celebratory banquet for her right away. 𝒻𝑟𝘦𝘦𝘸ℯ𝒷𝑛𝘰𝓋ℯ𝘭.𝘤𝘰𝘮
Inside the guest house
Yu Chunhe’s cheeks were flushed from the alcohol. She raised her glass and exclaimed happily, "Today! I am incredibly happy! This is the first time since I took office that we’ve seen a single deal worth one hundred million!"
A hundred million! And not in RMB, but in US Dollars!
We in China finally have someone who can earn US Dollars from the United States!
Xie Changyi nodded along, happily pouring herself a generous measure of white liquor. She raised her glass. "Less talk, more drinking! It’s all in the glass!"
All the factory directors from Lin Province were there. Basking in Xie Changning’s reflected glory, they toasted the two leaders.
Everyone was very united in that moment. When one of them prospered, they were all happy.
The first to prosper should help the rest prosper later. Once Anong County Machinery Factory took off, wouldn’t their neighboring factories at least get to drink the broth?
In that instant, the way everyone looked at Xie Changning grew even more fervent.
After the party, everyone dispersed late into the night. The next morning, Xie Changning went back to pack up her booth. While she was cleaning up, she called out to the directors of the neighboring booths, "Fellow directors, does anyone need a printer? I’m selling my factory’s display model at a low price. For just 5,000 RMB, you can take this new printer home with you!"
Xie Changning patted the printer beside her.
Her words made everyone pause their packing. They all turned to look at Xie Changning in unison, their eyes fixed on her.
They were familiar with Xie Changning’s machine.
They had seen with their own eyes how she sold it to the foreigners.
This machine was worth 25,000 US Dollars! And she was selling it cheap now?
"Don’t worry, there’s nothing wrong with it," Xie Changning explained. "I’m only selling it cheap because I want to lighten the load for my workers on the trip back. Otherwise, back in Chuncheng, this machine would sell for 15,000 RMB at the very least."
Xie Changning explained to everyone that there was nothing wrong with her machine; she was just selling it at a discount to lighten their load for the return journey.
Hearing her explanation, the directors of the medium and large-sized factories were tempted. One of them asked, "We’re not familiar with your machine and don’t know how to use it. And you’re about to leave..."
’Who would teach us how to use it then?’
Xie Changning smiled. "Rest assured, everyone. We’ll be leaving with the officials, so we’ll be staying here for another two days. During that time, I’ll have someone teach you how to use the printer."
"I also have an instruction manual, which comes with the purchase."
Hearing that it came with an instruction manual, the crowd grew even more interested.
In the split second that everyone was hesitating, one director made his decision. "Hello, I’m the director of the Shencheng Steel Factory, my surname is Liu. Mr. Xie, I’ll take that printer."
They had all seen it when Xie Changning was doing her demonstration.
It printed very fast and was an incredibly advanced machine. Five thousand RMB for it was an absolute steal!
Since someone had spoken first, the others who wanted it could only hold back their disappointment.
They could only watch as Xie Changning completed the transaction—cash for goods—and then led the man to the side of the booth to patiently explain how it worked.
Being heavily pregnant, Xie Changning had to take a break after standing for a little while.
So, Xie Changning had one of her staff take over explaining the machine to Director Liu.
The man Xie Changning had brought was highly professional. He could answer any question and even offered advice on things they hadn’t considered.
"Director Liu, you can take the machine with you tonight. We’ll come to your factory tomorrow morning to give a full demonstration..." Little Chen explained, showcasing just how comprehensive their service was.
The other directors listened with envy and began to crowd around Xie Changning.
Listening to Little Chen’s explanation, they couldn’t help but turn to Xie Changning. "Sister Changning, can we place custom orders for your factory’s printers?"
Xie Changning nodded.
"Of course. All orders can be customized."
"Great, great! We want to place custom orders too! And we want that kind of service!"
Hearing that Xie Changning was taking orders, they rushed forward, all talking over one another as they tried to explain their factories’ specific customization needs.
Xie Changning raised her hand. "Everyone, please listen! Form a line and give all the details to Comrade Xiao Cheng here."
Comrade Xiao Cheng nodded and stepped forward.
Everyone voluntarily formed a line and began explaining their needs to Comrade Xiao Cheng, who had been specially trained by Xie Changning before the event.
As they spoke, she carefully noted down which factory was in which region, grouping them together so that training could be organized geographically later on.
"Comrade Xiao Cheng, do you mean that when the machines arrive, your team will come to our local factories to conduct the training?" one of the directors asked in shock.
They all knew that Xie Changning’s team provided good service, but they never expected it to be *this* good!
’A user manual and a dedicated training team sent to you.’
"Of course! Also, each director will need to select two clerks beforehand. Before the machines are delivered, those clerks will need to come to our factory for typing training..." Comrade Xiao Cheng clearly laid out all the training requirements that came with purchasing a printer.
This level of detail was incredibly reassuring to everyone.
’This money is well worth it!’
And so, on the day after her record-breaking foreign currency deal, Xie Changning took on another fifty domestic orders.
Yu Chunhe was grinning from ear to ear.
Xie Changyi couldn’t help but tease her, "My, aren’t you happy? You’re grinning from ear to ear."
"And you’re not?" Yu Chunhe retorted.
Xie Changyi sighed, a hint of envy in her voice. "Today’s fifty units have nothing to do with me! I’m the director of the Bureau of Foreign Trade, not the Department of Domestic Commerce!"
Thinking of this, Xie Changyi shot Yu Chunhe a playfully resentful look.
"Why don’t we switch jobs, then?"
