Chapter 328: Chapter 326: Returning to Her Own Body (Part 1)

Celeste Grant’s Primordial Spirit returned to her body.

When she opened her eyes, she was in a hospital room.

The scent of antiseptic filled her nose. The buildings within her sight were familiar. ’Only modern hospitals look like this.’

She lay on the bed without moving.

Celeste Grant closed her eyes again.

The sensation was comforting.

She could feel the perfect harmony between her Primordial Spirit and this body; it was as if her spirit had finally come home after many years away.

She was back. The Celeste Grant of today was a beautiful, wealthy girl in the modern world, free to just coast through life. However, her Primordial Spirit was no longer what it once was.

At that moment, she sensed her body was undergoing some kind of change. ’This is a hospital. I just got back; I can’t let anyone witness any supernatural phenomena.’

At this thought, Celeste Grant, still lying in bed, wiggled a finger and instantly created a Barrier. Now, no one outside it could see what was happening to her. 𝓯𝓻𝒆𝙚𝒘𝓮𝙗𝓷𝒐𝓿𝙚𝒍.𝙘𝓸𝙢

She swept her body with her Divine Sense to assess the situation.

Celeste Grant’s body had originally been that of a mere mortal, but now, a familiar power flowed gently within her. Her body was shedding its mortal coil, undergoing a process of Purifying Essence and Marrow fueled by that foreign power, and ultimately transforming into an Immortal Spirit Body. This meant her natural aptitude and constitution were now in peak condition.

The impurities being expelled from her body turned into wisps of black smoke that vanished into thin air.

Her Spirit Roots hadn’t changed; she still possessed the Mutated Wood and Mutated Water Spirit Roots. Moreover, the full extent of her Cultivation from the Cultivation World had followed her back into this body.

She was still a late-stage Void Refinement Realm Cultivator. Her Cultivation hadn’t disappeared just because she had returned to her original body.

Celeste Grant opened her eyes and sat up.

Sure enough, her Spirit Root sprouted from the top of her head again. Its leaves were a luscious green, and it bore six small red flowers. Water flowed around the leaves and blossoms, as Immortal Spirit Qi swirled around her.

The little red flowers on her head truly did bloom one by one with each major realm breakthrough. It was bizarre, but her Cultivation rose astonishingly fast, so Celeste Grant remained perfectly calm about it. ’So what if it’s a little cringey? Rapid cultivation is more important than anything else.’

As Immortal Spirit Qi flowed around her, a set of water-blue robes slowly materialized on her, and her shoulder-length hair grew longer, cascading down onto the hospital bed.

If anyone had seen her at that moment, they would surely have exclaimed, "An Immortal!"

Celeste Grant gently raised her hand.

She opened her palm.

A stream of water flowed and swirled in her palm, completely under her control. There was no discomfort at all; in fact, using her Cultivation now felt smoother and more effortless than ever before.

’That familiar power in my body... he must have left it for me. He directly copied his entire Cultivation into my original body, so I don’t have to start cultivating all over again.’

As for her body from the Cultivation World, it hadn’t vanished. Instead, it had become a part of her—an external avatar.

’This is like having an extra life.’

Celeste Grant felt no guilt about having previously occupied the body of the novel’s villainess.

Javier Sinclair had already given the villainess the best possible outcome, even creating a new body for her. She would now have a fresh start, a new life. She had even reunited with her birth parents, and Celeste Grant was genuinely happy for her. ’The supporting character from the book finally has a Perfect ending!’

It was a private, quiet hospital room.

On the hospital bed, Celeste Grant’s hands formed a seal as she used Magic. An instant later, a figure appeared in the air behind her, identical in appearance to her current body. This avatar could be made corporeal or kept as an illusion.

Her original body in this world shared the same appearance, name, and even birthday as the novel’s villainess. ’Perhaps everything was predestined by Hades.’

Celeste Grant withdrew her aura, pulling the Immortal Spirit Qi back into her body. She glanced down at her robes and, with a light wave of her hand, changed back into the blue-and-white checkered hospital gown.

As for her newly-lengthened hair, she simply held out her hand, and a Jade Hairpin materialized in it. Celeste Grant swiftly gathered her hair into a bun and secured it with the pin.

She sat there, looking fresh and tidy.

With a casual gesture, she dismissed the Barrier.

Just as she was about to get up, a nurse in a white uniform happened to come in to do her rounds.

After pushing the door open and walking in, she looked up and gasped, "Oh my god!" She was clearly startled to see Celeste Grant sitting up in bed on her own.

"Oh my god! You... you’re awake!"

Once she snapped out of it, she rushed out of the room, her face flushed with excitement. "Doctor! Dr. Sawyer! The patient in 201 is awake!"

Celeste Grant remained seated and let out a dry laugh.

"Why is she so excited?"

Soon, a whole crowd of people rushed into Celeste Grant’s room. Doctors and nurses quickly surrounded her, running a series of tests, including a brain CT scan. The final conclusion was that all her vitals had returned to normal; she was, in fact, even healthier than the average person.

Her attending physician, Dr. Sawyer, kept looking at her medical chart over and over.

"How is this possible?"

"This is a medical miracle!"

"All her vitals are back to normal."

Another doctor nearby nodded emphatically. "She’s completely recovered. These vitals show she’s in excellent health—she seems even more energetic than a perfectly healthy person."

Despite his many unanswerable questions, as her attending physician, he was overjoyed that his patient had made a full recovery.

The girl, Celeste Grant, had been admitted to the hospital a month ago. The reason for admission was that she had fainted after being struck by lightning. She hadn’t woken up since and was considered to be in a vegetative state. They had thought she would never regain consciousness, but now, just over a month later, she was awake.

The doctors and nurses standing around Celeste Grant’s bed were speculating about her condition. Perhaps the lightning strike to her head had caused some sort of nerve paralysis, inducing a deep coma from which she was now able to awaken. The human brain was, after all, notoriously difficult to study, making such a scenario plausible. Otherwise, there was simply no explaining how she had woken up.

This was a highlight in his medical career; he was happy for the patient, and for himself as well.

She remained calm throughout all the post-recovery examinations. The most they could find was that she was remarkably healthy; they wouldn’t be able to detect anything else.

She was a cultivator now; interfering with her own body was no problem at all. When the nurse came to draw blood for a test, she used a bit of magic to substitute it. All they would get was a blood sample that was slightly healthier than an ordinary person’s. A Cultivator’s blood overflowed with Spiritual Energy—a single drop could extend a mortal’s life. She had no desire to attract that kind of attention. Though Celeste Grant wasn’t afraid, she preferred to keep a low profile.

Dr. Sawyer stood by her bedside. "Do you remember your name?" he asked.

He waved his hand in front of her face. "How many fingers am I holding up?"
