Primordial Chaos Dragon Tower: Harem System
Chapter 1617: Omniscent Jade Eye
Kent understood two things about the inevitable battle between him and the Crimson Blood Demon General.
The first concerned the nature of the battle as a whole. Kent is a dragon with overwhelming powers. However, to pass and become a sword divine, this battle can only be fought using his sword skills.
That means he cannot use powers like his true dragon form or some spells he had unlocked after recovering Ruthless Bandit’s memories.
This is purely a battle between swordsmen. The only things he can use that would give him a boost are the Chaos Scale Shield, Jade Void Wings and the soul map.
Since those are part of who he is, he can use them.
However, techniques like [Claw Art], [Finger of Destruction], and even [Universe Breaking Fist] cannot be utilised in the upcoming battle.
While he had no idea whether he would be restricted the moment he entered the central region, he knew that if he were to use any of such skills to kill the Crimson Blood Demon General, the quest would fail, and he would fail to become a sword divine.
The second thing was that by killing the Crimson Blood Demon General, he would become one of his legion. He had no idea how that would be managed, but Kent knew killing the demon didn’t mean the end.
He would secure a powerful subordinate, one of the reasons why he chose to face him first before meeting the 23 remaining Forbidden Beasts.
Kent never doubted his instinct, so when they told him not to underestimate the Forbidden Beasts, he knew he had to take that seriously.
Since that was the case, he might as well face what he initially thought would be the most dangerous battle in the tormented Layer. After all, his swordsmanship had stagnated for a while now, so he ought to improve that.
He is now an Immortal, so becoming a sword immortal should be the next move. So he would kill the demon and become a sword divine. Then, after he met the next requirements, he would become a sword legend and, finally, a sword immortal.
’All in due time,’ he thought
Kent decided to buy a flying boat since he had two important things to tackle while en route to the Central Region.
First, he retrieved the [Ten Divine Eye Secret Art] manual and pressed it against his forehead. It was one of the three gifts he received after forming the first Four Grim Contracts with the demigod beast of the Northern Region.
The moment the manual touched his forehead, it dissolved, and a moment later, messages appeared showing he had learned the technique.
Kent wasn’t surprised by how fast he learned the technique since it had been so since the start of his journey.
Turning his attention to the system messages, he started to read.
[You have learned a new secret art: Ten Divine Eyes]
[Ten Divine Eyes]
[Rank: Supreme]
[Description: With eyes that can look past the first layer, gaze into the unknown and discover secrets that elude the ordinary. The stronger your soul, the more you perceive.]
Kent felt his eyes open, and for a moment, he could swear he saw a strange energy come off Kharvok. However, he missed it, prompting him to look again.
However, a different message popped up, taking his attention back to the system interface.
[New mutation discovered: Heavenly Jade Eye + Ten Divine Eye Secret Art]
[Do you want to proceed with this mutation. Yes/No]
Kent didn’t even bother to think things through and just pressed Yes. Already, the Heavenly Jade Eye is overpowered. Having the ability to know something about anything was just too broken.
Now, the Ten Divine Eye Secret Art seems to have also added a layer of power to what he has.
The most important thing was that Kent knew the Ten Divine Eye Secret Art held secrets he hadn’t even discovered yet.
So why not decipher those first before merging them with the Heavenly Jade Eye?
The answer is simply that every mutation makes both skills powerful. So he initiated the mutation, and a few seconds later, his world went blank.
Kent appeared in a space filled with so much darkness that even he started to wonder what kind of danger he had landed himself in.
To his shock, however, a few seconds after he appeared, the darkness started to recede. Soon, he found himself in what appeared to be a library filled with books of different shapes and sizes.
Kent wondered where he had found himself once more. Soon, however, he saw a golden-haired man seated about 50 meters away, so he moved toward him.
Maybe he would give him a good explanation of where he was.
However, just as Kent took a step toward the man, a scene flashed before his eyes, making him shut his eyes, his heartbeat rising.
"What was that?" His heartbeat rose and fell. He opened his eyes and saw the man still where he had seen him. So, shrugging off the sudden flash he felt, he took another step.
This time, the scene moved much more slowly, so he caught the content. In it, he saw himself on his knees, a large red sword stabbed through his chest. Standing before him was a 3-meter-tall red-skinned demon with twisted black horns.
Kent’s heartbeat slowed down.
’That was me, locked in battle with the Crimson Blood Demon General, and from the look of things, he had killed me, or more likely severely injured me.’
Kent felt goosebumps appear on his skin.
Naturally, a bad feeling crept into his mind when he saw the distance left between him and the golden-haired man. He knew taking one more step meant seeing a familiar scene.
The first was already terrifying. How much more agonising would the subsequent ones be?
He knew he had to stop, or else he might see things that would break his mind.
Thankfully, just when he was about to make a decision, the golden-haired man turned slightly and spoke.
"No need for a second step, just one is good enough."
Kent had no time to even get a better look at the man’s face before his eyes opened on the outside, beads of sweat forming on his forehead.
He lifted his head and saw that Kharvok was looking back at him with a concerned expression.
"Relax, Kharvok, I am fine."
Kharvok nodded, and after a few moments, he turned away. Kent sighed and turned to the messages that had appeared.
[Your Heavenly Jade Eye and Ten Divine Eyes have mutated and formed the Omniscient Jade Eye]
[Omniscient Jade Eye]
[Rank: Celestial]
[Description: Eyes that know all and see everything. Nothing can escape your gaze, and no illusion can distort your perception. Also, you can see 2 seconds into the future.
Note: Whatever you see can be changed, provided you have the ability to change it.]
Kent sat there quietly, his expression showing nothing but shock.
He could sense it; his eyes had opened, and now, he could see more than he could before. In fact, now, he could see better than he ever knew possible.
It felt like something had exploded in his head, allowing his perception to go beyond the first and second layers. He could even see into himself, a feat he could not perform before.
Kent turned his head and looked at Kharvok, and for a moment, he was left stunned at what he saw.
[Unique Trait: Heart of Endless Winter]
[Description: Kharvok possesses a second heart formed from condensed chaos frost. This heart continuously absorbs heat from the environment, making the area around it colder with each passing second.]
Kent’s eyes widened further as his gaze penetrated Kharvok’s soul and landed on a bluish, heart-shaped core oozing an extremely cold energy.
Just when he thought that was all, he felt his gaze zoom in on the Ice Heart, and that was when he saw a small, pill-sized, deep blue core hidden within the heart-shaped core.
[You have discovered Ultimate Ice]
