Chapter 239 Walkthrough of "The Mansion of Darkness"
"No, that was just pure horror!"
Chika, repeatedly violated by the "black shadow," eventually lost consciousness again. When she regained awareness, a description of the "Mansion of Darkness" appeared in a completely dark space, and finally, a message appeared indicating that the bad route had been unlocked.
As Chika restarted in the square outside the mansion, she couldn’t help but exclaim.
"Wow... I can’t believe it... Invisible beings, ’black shadows’ and stuff like that... This game even has things like that..."
"This is just how it’s written because its identity is unknown, but maybe once we complete the quest and find out what it really is, its name will be displayed properly? But it’s better if it’s not displayed—it gives it more of its ’essence.’"
"Well... this is actually quite interesting, and I think it’s okay to have something like this, so I guess it’s fine...♡"
Chika had a complicated expression on her face as she thought about what had violated her in the "Mansion of Darkness," but eventually she seemed to accept it, nodding with a blush on her cheeks.
"Well, anyway... I’ve managed to unlock the bad ending somehow, so from here on out I think I’ll aim to clear the game."
"For now, judging from that description, if our goal is to defeat it, it seems we need to go during the day, not at night. So let’s fast forward time for now."
Some time later, with a serious expression, Chika said this with her sights set on completing the quest. She left the area and returned to the inn to make it daytime.
During the daytime, Chika arrived once again in front of the "Mansion of Darkness."
"Well... yeah, it looks like we can go in."
The quest description had stated that it was not possible to enter during the daytime. However, when Chika pushed the front door, it creaked open without any resistance, making a small noise.
Chika nodded and stepped inside the mansion.
"...Yeah, it’s overwhelmingly brighter than when I came in at night."
The windows were boarded up with wooden planks, making it difficult for light to enter, so the inside was somewhat dark—but still incomparably brighter than when she had entered at night. The arrangement and clutter of items in the entrance hall were clearly visible.
"Well then... I think I’ll try checking from the top next."
After walking a short distance into the entrance hall, Chika began to climb the stairs in front of her.
"Well then... let’s get started with the investigation."
Without any particular interruptions, Chika easily reached the third floor. A dimly lit corridor stretched out from the top of the stairs. However, unlike at night, the corridor was not pitch black, but dimly lit enough to clearly see the interior. Nodding, she began to walk down the corridor.
"...Huh!?"
The moment she started moving forward, something brushed against Chika’s bottom. She cried out in response to the sensation.
Up to this point, it was the same as when she first accepted the quest. However, since Chika’s current goal was to complete the quest, she responded differently.
"Thunder Area!"
The moment she felt the stimulation, Chika activated the "Thunder Area" spell, which allowed her to attack in all directions. The moment it activated, lightning began to rain down all around her.
"!!"
"Ah, I hit something...!"
One of the shots seemed to have hit something, and a black, hazy mass appeared in the previously empty space. The attack seemed to finish it off, as the black mist showed signs of being stunned and then melted away.
"Well... I didn’t really understand it, but I managed to defeat it, so that’s good...!"
Since the name was not displayed, Chika was still puzzled that she couldn’t identify it even after seeing it. Still, she nodded with satisfaction and began walking down the corridor again.
"Phew... I think I’ve defeated quite a few."
About ten minutes later, having finished exploring the third and second floors, Chika took a short breath. She had defeated more than ten of them so far, and she seemed pleased with her kill count.
"I don’t know how many are left, but... well, they’re not that much of a threat since I can defeat them with one spell."
"So what I should be concerned about is... that ’black shadow’, right...?"
The image that flashed through Chika’s mind was the "black shadow" that had violated her at the end. Because it was specifically mentioned in the description of the "Mansion of Darkness," Chika assumed that the black shadow was the boss of this quest and was wary of how strong it would be.
"The recommended level is fine, but I might still lose..."
"...Hmm, well, losing after a serious fight is exciting in its own way, so I guess it’s okay...♡"
"Yeah, let’s just go and see."
However, losing wouldn’t be such a big problem. Chika quickly stopped thinking and headed down the stairs to the first floor.
"...That is..."
On the way down the stairs, Chika suddenly found herself in the center of the entrance hall and stopped walking.
"..."
"The ’black shadow’...! I’ll defeat it here! ’Flameball’!"
The entire body of the black shadow was blurred, making it impossible to clearly see its form. Upon seeing this, Chika instantly unleashed a spell, launching a preemptive attack.
"... ... ..."
"Ah...! ’Thunder Area’!"
The black shadow dodged the ball of fire by swiftly moving to the side, then gently extended its hand. Suddenly, something like a spear shot out from the shadow at the black shadow’s feet and attacked Chika.
Chika deflected the spear with magic as she descended the stairs.
"Water Cutter!"
"...!"
The moment she stepped into the entrance hall, she cast another spell. This time, the black shadow apparently couldn’t dodge the swiftly unleashed blade of water, and a part of its body was slashed.
"..."
"Stonewall! And... Boost! Wind Sword!"
As the torn pieces scattered and disappeared, the black shadow launched another spear attack from its shadows. Chika effectively defended by creating a wall of rock, and then, while hiding, activated "Boost" to enhance her magic. She unleashed the "Wind Sword," which boasted superior speed.
"!? ..."
"Okay...!"
The moment it was released, the Wind Sword sliced the black shadow in two. The black shadow seemed confused by the attack, and that single blow appeared to be the decisive factor, as it quickly dispersed and disappeared.
"I wonder if I’ve defeated it now... Oh, quest complete. Looks like I did."
It seemed the game was cleared after defeating the black shadow. A sign indicating this appeared in Chika’s field of vision, and the dimly lit mansion became a little brighter.
"Phew... Okay. Let’s go home then."
Nodding in agreement that it was cleared, Chika left the "Mansion of Darkness."
