Raising Ducks for Daily Rewards
Chapter 134: Laying a Spiritual Egg
Fengyu’s learning progressed rapidly with each day, his expertise in various techniques becoming extremely adept. 𝗳𝚛𝗲𝕖𝕨𝕖𝗯𝚗𝚘𝕧𝕖𝗹.𝗰𝗼𝕞
At the same time, he led Lu Fang to play more with the ducks when he was free.
He had a thought when he saw the way he relaxed around the ducks.
Should he open a trauma treatment centre right in his field?
The effort wouldn’t be high, but the income might be very good!
Cultivators struggled with their own things every day, so taking a break in between was important. Some people would change between different practices to delay this as much, while others were lazy and gave up on progression to continue cultivating peacefully.
Inner Demons were a fear every cultivator had in his heart. Not feeling it was one thing, but once a cultivator thought they might develop them, they do everything in their power to kill this danger in the bud.
Such a treatment centre... would be exactly targeting these people and help them relax to slowly get rid of these Inner Demons.
The core of all was actually Zimu -
"Quack, Lu Fang has become a lot more peaceful."
"That’s because you’re using your Peaceful Interruption whenever he’s feeling down. You successfully distract him, which allows him to regain focus on what he was doing rather than let his mind dwindle to those dark places..."
"Fengyu, this Lu Fang is more peaceful now, but he’s not really peaceful even after doing all this..."
"Oh, that’s because the origin of his ’unpeacefulness’ hasn’t been solved. We’re only helping him regain control so that he can fight this on his own." Fengyu commented leisurely. From the start this was just something that happened coincidentally, but he wasn’t his father, so why should he care so much? Helping him this far was already the limit of a trauma treatment centre.
He observed the situation and devised many ideas, ideas mainly intended at the future.
...
While various matters distracted Fengyu’s mind, whenever it came to treatment, his attention was fully drawn to it.
After closing the Jianzhen once, he only opened it again after a week and gave him three days to relax before blocking it again. If he blocked an acupoint for too long, it might cause a disability.
The Naoshu point was easier to manage. He didn’t block it but lowered the flow, which meant that he only had to relieve it once in ten days, and could close it right afterwards again.
Having done this, he would use his blade to cut a part of the tip of the artery, opening the wound effectively. He would then use his healing spells to allow the artery to ’heal’ towards the direction he directed.
Basically, he felt like it was growing carrots in a specific direction, requiring assistance, but it was quite doable once he had found a balance.
Lu Fang would still feel excruciating pain, but he didn’t know that this was just the start.
Fengyu continued doing this process for three months - an extremely difficult time not just for Lu Fang but also for him, as he had to balance two things at the same time...
Mother Duck became pregnant and today was the day the egg was laid!
Three months of raising the egg in her belly, this seemed to be the limit of Mother Duck. Yet when Fengyu saw it for the first time, he was astonished to see that the egg was larger and exuded a strong aura. In addition, there were lines going from all around, leading to a small circle in the middle of the egg, the circle reflected on not one side but on two! And, subtly, he could see a faint circle on the east and west sides too...
Fengyu was astonished but didn’t say anything, simply caring for Mother Duck who had finally given birth while telling her to raise the egg inside the villa, assuring her that he would be there for everything she needed!
"Brother Fengyu, don’t worry about this! Hehe, I might not have been as intelligent now, but didn’t I give birth to Silver Feather, Spring Rain, Wind Claw and Soft Breeze? I raised all of these very well and they’ve become good children. Don’t worry about me so much, just let me raise them and you go and take care of your patient."
"Sister Mother Duck, it’s not that I doubt you, but that I’m just being careful-" Fengyu explained, used to being called brother by Mother Duck. Technically he, Zimu and Mother Duck were of the same generation, but Fengyu told them that except for when you have a blood relationship where you will call the person differently, everyone should be brother and sister, except when the cultivation is too far apart, in which case they would become uncle and aunt to nephew and nieces.
"Brother Fengyu, I know everything already~
Just go!
That little guy’s screams still echo in the villa every morning, which is worse than the waking call of a rooster!"
"Alright, don’t worry. The initial treatment is nearly done, the final treatment... never mind, it will take a bit, but at most only three more months!" Fengyu assured her, though her doubtful expression made it clear she would wait and see.
He chuckled and walked out, seeing Lu Fang nervously pacing with his stiff leg outside the door.
"Don’t worry, the birth was fine. Haha, Mother Duck has done it so many times, she just said to get over with it and laid it right on the nest!" Fengyu joked to ease the tension.
"That’s good! That’s very good!" Lu Fang finally breathed a sigh of relief - in the past three months, he had become close to the ducks here, especially Mother Duck who seemed more intelligent than the other ducks and was always overseeing the young ducks in the villa.
Fengyu smiled and said, "Tomorrow is going to be the day we connect the artery. You should get a good night’s sleep and prepare for what is to come tomorrow!"
Lu Fang nodded solemnly, his face carrying a heaviness yet his eyes were clear, no longer as gloomy as he was when he just entered...
