Ranaway From Wedding, Fell into Tycoon's Love Trap
Chapter 1099: Yes! I’m an Idiot
When Alice Turner received a phone call from Thomas Fisher, she had just finished her meal and was about to go to the living room with Lily Turner to watch TV. Seeing the call, Lily wisely went to the living room first, leaving her alone to answer the call.
"Hello!"
Glancing at Lily heading to the living room, Alice answered the phone and walked toward the door. She wanted to go outside to talk as she felt slightly uneasy speaking with her parents at home.
"Uh?!"
As she opened the door, Easton Holmes was about to press the doorbell, startling Alice, who couldn’t help but gasp.
On the other end of the line, Thomas, unaware of what happened, got nervous when he heard Alice’s gasp. "What happened? Is everything okay?"
His voice was tight with tension.
"It’s nothing."
While talking to Thomas over the phone, Alice stepped aside to let Easton inside, "Lily is in the living room."
As Easton passed by, she informed him, then walked out.
It was only after walking past that Easton realized Alice was speaking to him. He glanced back at her as she exited, then headed to the living room.
"Hmm? Who were you talking to?"
Unable to see what was happening, Thomas was puzzled by Alice’s words, but relaxed once he heard her say it was nothing.
Hearing Thomas’s voice again, Alice closed the door and moved away from it, saying, "I was talking to your brother. You..."
"My brother went over to the house?" Thomas suddenly sat up from his bed. Had he known, he would’ve gone with his brother to the Turner Family house, sparing himself the need for emotional phone conversations now.
Alice could sense Thomas’s excitement even through the phone. Ignorant of his true feelings, she retorted, "What are you getting excited for? With Lily here, of course, he’d come."
For her, Easton’s visit wasn’t surprising; with her sister here, it would be stranger if he didn’t come by.
"If I’d known, I would’ve gone with him to your place," Thomas regretfully slapped his forehead, chiding himself for missing the obvious—his brother couldn’t stand being away from his wife.
Hearing this, Alice blurted out, "Didn’t you just come over this afternoon?"
"Are you saying that because I came in the afternoon, I can’t come again at night?" Thomas seized the flaw in Alice’s words, unhappily pointing it out.
This troublesome man! Was that what she meant?
Rolling her eyes at the ground, Alice retorted, "Which ear of yours heard me say that?"
She had made a casual remark, not expecting him to interpret it that way, clearly looking for trouble.
"Does this mean I misunderstood?" Thomas’s face lit up with a smile, his grin widening involuntarily.
"What do you think, dummy!"
Alice neither confirmed nor denied, directly calling the man on the line a dummy.
Being called a dummy, Thomas felt not upset but rather his smile grew wider. "Yes! I’m a dummy."
"You..." 𝑓𝑟𝑒𝘦𝓌𝑒𝑏𝑛𝑜𝘷𝑒𝘭.𝒸𝘰𝑚
Suddenly, Alice saw a familiar car pulling up at the gate, and upon closer inspection, her expression turned sour.
