Ranaway From Wedding, Fell into Tycoon's Love Trap
Chapter 1162: Aren’t You a Little Too Heartless?
The person calling Alice Turner was Benjamin Shaw. She didn’t know why he was calling at this time. She didn’t want to deal with him, but after hesitating for a while, she picked up the phone.
"Hello!" After she said hello, she remained silent, waiting quietly for the person on the other end to speak.
"Aren’t you a bit too heartless? I got injured and ended up in the hospital because of you, but you didn’t even come to check on me." Over the phone, Benjamin Shaw felt Alice Turner’s indifference, and a sudden surge of anger burned in his heart, making his tone and attitude particularly poor.
Already having no fondness for Benjamin Shaw and in a foul mood, Alice Turner instantly got angry and shouted at him over the phone, "If you hadn’t caused trouble at my house last night, would I have pushed you for no reason? You deserved it!"
She was bottling up a lot of anger, and he just happened to cross her at the wrong moment.
"You’re such a woman..."
So furious that he didn’t know what to say, Benjamin Shaw took deep breaths over the phone, but before he could calm down, he heard the person on the other end say, "I’m this kind of woman. So, don’t bother me again. Otherwise, it won’t just be a concussion next time."
After saying that, she angrily hung up the phone.
Beep!
Upon hearing the beep in his ear, Benjamin Shaw realized Alice Turner had already hung up. He brought the phone from his ear to his eyes, his face darkened more than the phone screen.
This woman is truly cold-hearted!
Benjamin Shaw irritably rubbed his forehead with the phone, then dialed Alice Turner’s number again.
"Sorry! The user you dialed is temporarily unable to take your call. Please try again later..."
The call rang for a long time before he heard the message that no one was picking up.
Benjamin Shaw knew Alice Turner was intentionally not answering his call. After the call automatically hung up, he didn’t dial again and tossed the phone beside his pillow, turning to lie facing the window and staring blankly.
Squeak!
Hearing the door open, Benjamin Shaw thought it was the hospital aide, without even turning his head, "You can leave, I don’t need an aide right now."
With a cold attitude, the whole person appeared cold, yet his speaking tone carried an annoyed anger.
Bang!
Hearing the door close, Benjamin Shaw thought the aide who had come in was sent away by him, but before he could relax, he heard footsteps approaching from behind, getting closer and closer...
"Didn’t I tell you to leave, why are you..." He turned around with dissatisfaction to face the approaching person, and was stunned when he saw who it was.
"Direct your anger at me, don’t take it out on whoever you see. Others haven’t offended you." Alice Turner walked over and placed the fruit basket she had just bought at the hospital entrance on the cabinet, "Judging by your strong tone scolding just now, you seem to have recovered, so if you’re all well, stop staying in the hospital seeking sympathy."
Standing by the bedside, she looked down at him on the hospital bed. She initially didn’t want to visit him, but recalling that he was injured because of her, she changed her mind and drove to the hospital.
The moment he saw Alice Turner, the anger and irritation in Benjamin Shaw’s heart dissipated, replaced by a surprise, a pleasantly unexpected surprise.
"Didn’t you say I deserved it? So why are you here now?" He tilted his head to glance at the fruit basket she had just placed on the cabinet, and slowly sat up.
