Path of shining waters stretched endlessly in front of Jennie.

On its other end...

Leviathan was floating in silence.

Divine Sword gave a calm blue glow, lighting the endless ocean around.

There was no voice.

There were no illusions.

There was only one path.

Jennie inhaled deeply.

"So..."

"This is the last trial,"

Leviathan’s ancient voice echoed across the ocean.

"Yes."

"Walk forward."

Jennie nodded and started walking.

Every step she made caused ripples in the water.

As she moved closer...

Leviathan’s presence was growing stronger.

Almost feeling the embrace of the ocean.

And then...

Scream.

"D-Don’t leave us!"

Jennie stopped.

More cries.

"Help!"

Calming ocean broke in pieces of shattering glass.

Everything changed.

She found herself on a rocky cliff above some coastal village.

Dark storm clouds were covering the sky.

Rain was pouring in torrents.

Violent waves hit the coast.

Ocean had gone crazy.

Frightened villagers were running through flooded streets.

Crying kids.

Desperate parents looking for their families.

Half of their homes were already under the rising water.

Church bells were ringing incessantly.

Their desperate sounds echoing across the village.

Jennie’s facial expressions changed.

"This..."

She whispered.

"...isn’t another illusion."

Leviathan’s calm voice replied.

"It is a possibility."

"Treat it as reality."

And without any further words...

Jennie dashed to the village.

The water was rushing along the streets.

The flow was so strong that it could carry an adult away.

Little boy held a wooden pole with desperate grip.

His fingers were slipping.

Jennie was the first one to get to him.

She grabbed his wrist.

"I’ve got you!"

The boy looked up with teary eyes.

"M-Miss..."

Jennie picked him up and placed him on her shoulder.

"Where are your parents?"

"They’re..."

He pointed to the center of the village.

"...there."

Jennie nodded.

"We’ll find them."

She dashed through the flooded streets.

Suddenly collapsing house started groaning.

In the collapsing house there was an old couple.

The roof started crumbling.

Jennie drew Excalibur.

One flick.

And the falling beams split in pieces before crushing the couple.

She rushed inside.

"Can you walk?"

The old man nodded weakly.

"My wife..."

Jennie supported both of them.

"We’ll go out together."

On the outside...

Sea spirits were flying crazily in the rain.

Unlike happy spirits of the Sunken Temple...

Tiny beings looked terribly scared.

They were circling the floodwaters, trying to guide the frightened villagers to the safety.

Some were crying.

Others were pushing the floating debris away despite their tiny size.

Jennie was surprised by them.

"They’re trying to save people..."

One little spirit tugged at her sleeve.

Pointing to the other street.

Somebody still needed help.

Jennie smiled.

"I understand."

"Show the way."

Spirit immediately perked up and darted ahead.

For what seemed hours...

Jennie was running from one end of the village to the other.

Rescuing children stuck in the school.

Carrying the injured fishermen from the collapsing docks.

Leading the families to the safer places.

Again.

And again.

And again.

Running without stopping.

The rain was drenching her white cloak.

Muddy streets dirtying her boots.

Her breathing was heavy.

But she was still smiling at every frightened face.

"It’s okay."

"You’re safe now."

Those simple words comforted countless people.

Far away...

Leviathan was still waiting.

The Divine Sword was floating in the same place.

Untouched.

Patient.

Voice of Leviathan echoed once again.

"The trial goes on."

Jennie heard it.

But she didn’t reply.

At this very moment...

There was nothing more important than the people in front of her.

Suddenly...

The earth quaked violently.

Deafening roar of the sea.

The villagers looked at the coast in horror.

Massive wall of water was rising.

Not a normal wave.

Tsunami.

It was looming over the village like a mountain.

Roxy would be shocked.

Snow would start preparing for battle.

But Jennie didn’t hesitate.

"Everybody!"

She shouted.

"Run to the hill!"

Parents grabbed their children.

Villagers helped each other despite the panic.

Sea spirits were desperately guiding anyone who got separated.

Jennie stayed behind.

She was watching the rising wall.

Her silver eyes narrowed.

"If I can give them a few more seconds..."

She grabbed the Excalibur.

Not to destroy the sea.

Only to protect those behind her.

And then...

The voice of Leviathan echoed once again.

This time...

Much closer.

"Jennie."

She glanced at the Divine Sword.

Floating right next to her.

Close enough to touch.

Leviathan spoke calmly.

"Come."

"Take me."

"Trial is over for you."

Jennie looked at the sword.

And then...

She looked at the terrified villagers.

A little girl fell into the rushing water.

Her mother screamed.

"My daughter!"

Without even thinking...

Jennie turned to Leviathan.

"No."

She darted toward the child.

Her legs touched the water.

Diving in the violent flow and saving the little girl from getting carried away.

Hugging the frightened child to her chest, Jennie smiled gently.

"It’s okay."

"I’ve got you."

On the background...

Divine Sword was floating silently.

Forgotten.

Completely ignored.

For the first time in thousands of years...

Somebody chose strangers...

Over a Divine Sword.

The roaring sea gradually turned to silence.

The massive wave that was supposed to erase the existence of the village hit the invisible shimmering barrier of blue light that had appeared along the coastline.

It rained.

But it rained softly now.

Terrified villagers stood on the hill above their homes.

The children clung to their parents.

People embraced each other in gratitude for being still alive.

The old fisherman slowly took off his wet hat.

His weathered eyes scanned the crowd of people in search of something.

"...Are you all here?"

"One by one," people replied.

"I’m here!"

"My family is safe!"

"We are all here!"

Village Chief slowly counted every villager.

When he heard the last name on his list, he finally calmed down.

No one is missing...

He said.

We all survived...

His voice shook slightly with relief.

The wave of relief broke out through the crowd.

Some people laughed, some cried.

Some people thanked their gods kneeling to the ground.

The little girl whom Jennie rescued hugged her tightly.

"Thank you, Miss Hunter."

Jennie smiled and patted the girl’s head.

I’m glad that you’re all right.

The girl’s mother bowed so deep that she could almost touch the ground with her forehead.

You have saved my child...

I can’t ever repay for this...

Jennie helped her mother to stand up.

You owe me nothing.

Just keep smiling.

The woman nodded through her tears.

I will.

The small sea spirits cheerfully fluttered around Jennie.

In contrast to what happened before, now their cries had disappeared.

They just cheerfully danced in the rain.

One little spirit perched upon Jennie’s shoulder.

The other one rested on her hand.

The third one gently caressed her cheek.

They radiated a bright sapphire light.

Almost...

As if they were thanking her for everything.

Jennie quietly giggled.

So even spirits know how to say thank you.

The little spirit nodded eagerly.

Its tiny body was shining brighter than ever before.

Jennie laughed.

You’re so cute.

They circled her one more time and flew away towards the distant ocean.

Almost as if they wanted her to go with them.

Jennie glanced back one more time.

Villagers were already helping each other to rebuild their homes.

The children were smiling again.

Someone started a small fire to keep the people warm.

The life returned.

Exactly as she expected.

She whispered.

...Good.

Only after this...

Only after every terrified face turned into a peaceful smile...

Did she finally turn to the sea.

The storm had completely disappeared.

The dark clouds had been replaced with the blue sky.

The endless ocean was shining before her.

Calm.

Soft.

Waiting.

Jennie quietly walked across the surface of the water.

Each of her steps created blooming circles of sapphire light.

The sea spirits fluttered around her like the tiny stars.

Far ahead...

Leviathan was still floating there.

Untouched.

Patient.

It had not moved since she left.

Jennie stepped several feet away and bowed to him.

I’m sorry.

I kept you waiting.

For some moments...

The Divine Sword remained silent.

But then...

The soft laugh sounded across the endless ocean.

Not mocking.

Not proud.

But simply...

Warm.

Like the gentle waves that brush the shore.

Jennie blinked.

...You’re laughing?

Leviathan answered.

Yes.

The voice of the ancient sword had an obvious tone of joy.

For two thousand years...

I have been waiting...

Pause.

The sea shimmered around them.

...for someone who would leave me behind.

You...

You wanted me to ignore you?

Leviathan’s sapphire glow got brighter.

Had you run toward me...

The village would have perished.

Had you chosen the power...

You would have proved yourself unworthy.

Jennie’s eyes lowered.

I never even thought about it.

Leviathan’s voice softened.

Exactly.

You didn’t choose.

Your heart answered before your mind.

Snow’s words echoed inside Jennie’s mind.

The heart cannot lie.

She quietly smiled.

I just couldn’t leave them.

Suddenly...

The huge crystal column that surrounded Leviathan started to crack.

Crack...

Tiny cracks spread across its surface.

Then another one.

And another.

The whole column shined with the bright sapphire light.

The sea spirits swarmed in large amounts.

Thousands.

Then tens of thousands.

It seemed that all the sea spirits of the surrounding ocean had responded to the awaking of the Divine Sword.

The crystal column finally shattered.

Crash!

Thousands of the blue fragments of it flew into the air like the snowflakes.

But instead of falling down...

They dissipated into the mana.

Leviathan slowly descended.

Not to the king.

Not to the conqueror.

Not to the hero.

To Jennie.

The Divine Sword silently hung in front of her.

Jennie reached out to grab it.

Her fingers wrapped around the hilt of the sword.

The moment when she touched the blade...

The entire western ocean burst into radiant blue light.

Mana ripples spread over the ocean.

Coral reefs bloomed.

Sleeping sea creatures peacefully awoke.

The schools of glowing fish appeared in the water.

Far above...

Sailors stared into the horizon with amazement.

It seemed that the ocean itself started to sing.

Snow proudly smiled.

So...

It has finally happened.

Roxy covered her mouth in amazement.

It’s beautiful...

Leviathan’s voice echoed across the sea.

Not only for Jennie.

But for the sea.

For the sea spirits.

For all the creatures under the waves.

Hear my declaration.

The water became absolutely still.

From this day on...

The brilliant pillar of sapphire light rose to the heaven.

I recognize...

There was a short silence.

Then the ancient sword said words that Jennie never expected to hear.

...not Leonis.

Jennie couldn’t breathe anymore.

But the sword continued.

Its voice was full of calmness.

...but Jennie.

The sea answered with the dancing waves.

The sea spirits joyfully laughed.

Even the wind seemed to carry the declaration over the endless horizon.

For the first time...

The Divine Sword recognized not the legendary Sword King...

But the girl he had reincarnated.

Inside her heart the familiar voice laughed.

Excalibur.

So...

Its voice was filled with the obvious pride.

You finally stopped living in my shadow.

Jennie looked at the two Divine Swords hanging at her sides.

One symbolized her past.

The second one recognized her present.

She quietly smiled.

Gently.

Calmingly.

Surely.

"No."

She glanced at the endless ocean.

I simply found my own path.

Leviathan shimmered with the approval.

Excalibur chuckled.

Neither sword said anything anymore.

There was no need for this.

At last...

The lonely girl who thought that she was just a legacy of the forgotten hero made her first step beyond her legacy.

She wasn’t the rebirth of Leonis anymore.

She wasn’t a shadow chasing her past.

She was Jennie.

The wandering hunter.

The daughter who was remembered only by her own heart.

A friend.

A protector.

The White Hunter called Raven.

And now...

The chosen bearer of the both swords...

Excalibur – the Sword of the Kings...

And Leviathan – the Blade of Oceans.

Somewhere far away...

Deep inside the forgotten sanctuary hidden within endless storms...

The ancient Divine Sword started to stir faintly in its eternal seal.

Tempest.

The Blade of Storms had felt the awaking of its brother.

A new journey...

Was already awaiting her.
