A few months ago, when Leon killed Lucian and finally ended the terror of the Demon of Ozempic in Leviathan Quay, of the character summon cards that he got, he also got this.

Leon had no idea if this was going to work, but it was his closest bet.

But the moment he used the character summon card, just as the man’s dagger stabbed towards his brain for another lethal blow, something changed...

Grayish white energy swirled around Leon’s body.

This was... ADE!

In the last second before the dagger could stab his head, Leon’s right hand shot up and he grabbed the dagger by the blade.

The sharp edge of the blade cut his fingers but it couldn’t sever his fingers immediately. Most importantly though, the masked man no longer overpowered him immediately like he was an ant.

Leon matched the man’s strength.

His D Rank physique and strength was back!

The moment this realization settled in his head, desperate for survival since, Leon’s body reacted even before his brain could as his legs swung in a powerful whirlwind kick, sweeping the assassin off his feet.

Thud...!

The assassin landed on the ground, stunned, and Leon shot up to his feet.

The assassin shot up to his feet too the next moment, and behind his ghost face mask, for a fleeting moment Leon thought he saw what seemed like surprise.

There was a silent question in his deep predatory gray eyes now.

Seeing this, Leon grinned and spat blood on the ground. He twisted his mouth slightly and spat out a broken tooth, and then he entered a boxing stance.

"Are you surprised?"

"Hehe," he grinned. "I’ll have to let you know that I’m not like your other assassination targets. Unlike them, I’m not easy to kill".

Instead of answering him, the assassin simply took it up a notch as white and gold ADE flared around him for the first time in this dream.

’Oh sh*t!’ Leon cursed.

Plasmakinesis!

BZZZZ!

A massive handle-less blade that was formed out of pure superheated ionized gas, burning red-hot like the sun appeared in mid-air the next moment, cutting horizontally towards Leon with a force that could seemingly split the world in two.

Leon cursed, then he ducked.

At the last moment the plasma sword cut above him, but still, the heat burnt his back, making him grit his teeth tightly, then he pounced towards the D Rank Fluxmancer.

BAM!

The ground cracked beneath Leon’s feet the moment he moved.

Clenching his fists tightly, he got prepared for boxing.

His fists were like stone, and when they moved they moved with thunder as he punched, but the assassin was not willing to play to his game.

BZZZ!

Plasmakinesis!

Radiation Bending!

Spatial Rend!

Phase Step!

The assassin finally went all out and instantly, Leon’s rampage was nullified even before it could fully start.

Leon couldn’t even touch him once as whenever he got close, the D Rank Quantum Shaper simply teleported away with Phase Step.

With the combination of Plasmakinesis and Radiation Bending, he kept on attacking him and within just a few seconds, Leon started feeling seriously ill.

He could dodge the blades and attacks that the assassin created with his Plasmakinesis ability. Even though he couldn’t dodge them all, he was surviving, but the true problem was Radiation Bending.

Leon couldn’t dodge the attack at all, it was an AOE attack and it was not visible!

Anytime the assassin used the ability, Leon couldn’t see it but he could feel the radiation spreading in a wide cone towards him.

He was immune to ADE corruption, but he was not immune to radioactive decay as its destructive effects on his biological tissue enhanced by the ADE of a D Rank Ascended broke his body’s chemical bonds, obliterating his DNA molecules!

For the first time in his life, he realized the true terror of facing a D Rank Quantum Shaper in battle in his chosen battleground.

At first, it seemed like nothing was happening but just within seconds, Leon felt incredibly ill!

At first, he only felt weak and soon he began running temperature, feeling extremely hot.

And soon, his muscles began hurting and weakening. And then he began coughing unceasingly, yet the battle never stopped.

BAM! BAM! BAM!

The assassin kept on going after him and it was a miracle that Leon survived this long in the first place, but he kept on surviving.

Snot, catarrh, and tears filled his face as he looked pale and ill, but he never stopped resisting.

Throughout, Leon never stopped thinking because he knew that though it was slower now, he was still dying.

After regaining access to his ADE, all his injuries and damage did not magically heal. This is because unlike his Danger Premonition Racial Trait, he actually needed to activate his Cockroach DNA Racial Trait to heal.

And right now, all his active abilities and traits were still locked.

The only thing that the character summon card unlocked was his ADE and his D Rank physique and strength, nothing else.

Leon did not have access to his constructs neither did he have access to his abilities. He was dying slowly, and he could not even heal.

He smiled darkly. ’If 1 Quantum Trace can only give me access to my physical strength in this dream, I wonder what 2 can do...’

This time, Leon saw the assassin’s eyes narrow behind his ghost face mask.

He grinned. "Are you surprised?"

"Are you shocked?" He wanted to cackle but he was hurting too much and was too ill to laugh.

But the effects were disappointing; stacking the effects of 2 Quantum Trace character summon cards did not give him the capability to gain more authority in the dreamscape created by a D Rank Fluxmancer.

So Leon went deeper.

He heard an illusory sound of something shattering and immediately, he realized that he just broke another limit within this dreamscape.
