Reborn as an Extra
Chapter 751: A Future Without You... Part-3.
The moment Lia entered the portal, it was as if she had traveled through an insane amount of space and time; the feeling of weightlessness enveloped her body and tried to disorient her many times.
But with her powerful ability to discern her surrounding and her insane control over the strings of destiny, Lia managed to keep herself stable.
As the movements in space-time and reality finally stopped, Lia found herself standing inside the training ground of the silver mansion that she once used to train in.
Looking around, she noticed that Link and Riya were nowhere to be seen; they had both likely been separated from her by the power of space and time.
’This has happened so many times now that I am not even surprised anymore...’
Being separated inside a dangerous place was a usual occurrence for their group, and by now Lia was so used to it that she didn’t even flinch at the sudden disappearance of her companions.
Link and Riya being separated from her was not unexpected, but Lia was surprised when she noticed that even Kai, who was originally lazily lying on her shoulder, was now gone.
"To be able to affect an SS-rank divine spirit... this strange realm is stronger than I was expecting..."
*SOB!* *SOB!* *SOB!*
Just when Lia was busy thinking about the situation, the voice of someone crying entered her ears, and she finally noticed that a young golden-haired girl was sitting on the ground and crying with a small dagger in her hand.
"Err... is that me? Is this place using illusion magic to try to show me my depressing past and do mental damage to me?"
"Unfortunately for you, I have already moved on from that depressing past and have found myself a person who cares about me... This won’t affect me anymore..."
Lia shook her head as she walked over to the girl that was crying in the center of the training ground.
"Oi! Stupid golden-haired idiot! Stop crying! Crying won’t change anything. Listen to my advice, go to ’MistVilla Orphanage’ located in the city of Ramona near the capital..."
"There’s a boy named Rio there; go catch him before someone else gets the chance and make him yours!"
Lia had run a full background check on Rio once upon a time, and thus, she knew exactly where Rio came from and which orphanage he used to live in after the Drift City incident.
She had always lamented the fact that she didn’t get to meet Rio much earlier.
Thus, her advice to this young Lia was indeed very biased towards her own thoughts and desires, but she was sure that this choice would be better for the young Lia rather than crying to herself in a cold, empty training room alone.
*Sob!* *Sob!!* *Sob!!*
As if the other party couldn’t hear her at all, the young Lia didn’t stop crying at all and started muttering to herself in a weak voice.
"Mommy hates me... Daddy hates me... I am useless... I can’t even learn a simple sword skill... I am useless... I am useless..."
"I can’t... I can’t... I can’t..."
Seeing this young version of herself crumble apart into despair, Lia felt quite uncomfortable as she thought in her mind.
’Err... I do remember that I was quite a crybaby and a stubborn idiot, but... did I ever do self-loathing like this?’
’Is this because this illusion magic has altered the memory to make it seem more pathetic?’
Just when Lia was thinking about the weirdness of this situation and trying to assess what she should do next, the young Lia suddenly clenched her small dagger and stabbed herself in the heart!
"I am sorry, Mom, Dad... I am a failure... I am sorry..."
Lia’s eyes widened in shock as she watched the little version of herself stab herself to death.
The little Lia collapsed in her own pool of blood as her vitality slowly faded away into nothingness.
Before Lia could understand what was happening, someone opened the door of the training room and entered.
"Hoh? The trash finally decided to do something good... oi! Maid! Throw this trash out! And make sure to clean the floor properly! I don’t want garbage like her to stain our house!"
The voice of the person was familiar, but the words and that cold tone were very unfamiliar.
Lia’s body shuddered as she found that arrogant and disgusted look on her mother’s face very unfamiliar.
In Lia’s memories, her mother was always a gentle and kind woman who loved her until the very last moment of her life. Lia had never seen that kind of look on her face.
She was unfamiliar with that condescending tone of hers.
Before Lia could calm herself down, her personal maid Mel came inside the room, grabbed the young Lia dead body by the hair, and dragged her away like trash with a happy smile on her face!
’This is bullsh*t! Why would Mel be happy to do something like this to me!?"
Lia calmed her anger down as she came back to her senses and realized that this was just an illusion and the other party was likely trying to make her infuriated.
’Tch, this illusion magic is more sinister than I thought... I almost lost myself to anger...’
[Divine Spirit’s Blessing: Mental Fortification: Create Enhanced Mental Barriers!]
To defend herself from the power of this illusion, Lia decided to enhance her mental barriers and create extra ones just in case.
She tailed Mel and found that Mel indeed threw her dead body into a dustbin; soon enough, the cleaning staff took away the dustbin and transported her corpse to a trash recycling facility far off from the capital city.
Her body was turned into minced meat, processed with the other trash and completely destroyed by the machines of the plant. 𝙛𝓻𝒆𝒆𝒘𝙚𝓫𝙣𝙤𝒗𝙚𝓵.𝙘𝙤𝙢
No one cared about her; no one even batted an eye, and even after death, she didn’t receive a proper funeral.
Her life was just as meaningless as her death was.
And as if to shake Lia’s already disturbed heart, a broken string of destiny floated in her sight and transferred an eerie message in her mind.
