Reborn As Super Heiress
Chapter 1990 - 1893: Park Admission Agreement
Huo Sining instinctively raised her head, her gaze fixed directly on the reporter asking the question. Upon seeing the company’s name on the reporter’s microphone, she couldn’t help but curl her lips and, with a smile, retorted:
"Let’s not talk about the priceless treasure I bought back; let’s discuss the source of the money. I suppose you, as a reporter friend, are quite aware that the money was directly transferred from the Earl of Windsor’s account. How could this money be considered Huaxia people’s money? Isn’t your concept somewhat confused?"
The reporter seemed to have anticipated Huo Sining’s response and directly responded, "Since the money ended up in Miss Huo’s account, doesn’t that make it your money? You are a Huaxia person, holding Huaxia citizenship, so this money is naturally Huaxia people’s money. Am I wrong in saying this?"
A dark glimmer flashed in Huo Sining’s eyes, and she suddenly raised her head, smiling as she asked the reporter:
"In theory, that’s indeed correct, but there’s something you might not know, which is also the most important reason why I’m sitting here today, holding this meeting with all the reporters present. The true payer for this purchase of the beast head is not me, Huo Sining, but someone else."
Huo Sining’s words instantly stunned everyone present, leaving them completely bewildered as to why she would say such a thing at this critical moment.
Windsor Reed already helped her clarify the facts, so why would she now say she’s not the payer? What’s the real intention behind this?
"Miss Huo, what do you mean by that?" The reporters present glanced at each other in confusion, unable to contain their curiosity, instinctively extended their microphones, wanting to find out the truth.
Huo Sining remained quite calm, signaling her staff behind her to turn on the projector. A picture appeared on the computer screen: an English agreement. Most of the reporters below didn’t understand what this picture meant, and their faces immediately showed puzzlement.
"What I just said is meant literally. Today, I invited everyone over to give an explanation to the friends who have been questioning me in recent days."
"On one hand, it’s to clarify myself. I value my reputation and don’t want anyone to maliciously attack me through this matter."
"On the other hand, my association has inadvertently implicated the Cultural Relics Bureau, making me feel quite apologetic. After all, this beast head auction was entirely my personal act, unrelated to any other organization or entity. I don’t want anyone to use this issue to drag others or organizations downhill."
At this point, Huo Sining pointed to the slide behind her, smiled, and said:
"We are now live streaming, so I urge the director to output this image directly, so that the online viewers watching the live stream can clearly see the contents of this image."
"I believe that those who understand English or have signed similar agreements might recognize it as an agreement."
"Now, I’d like to remind everyone that this agreement is very crucial. It originates from a public agreement from a Volcano Park in Polante District, Oregon State, America. I can provide a simple translation of its content for you."
"—Visitors voluntarily enter the park for activities, and the entry fee is ten dollars. No electrical devices are allowed in the park; only manual tools like hoes and shovels are permitted for excavation. Any diamonds dug up by visitors belong to the visitors themselves, and the park is not allowed to take them back in any form."
After reading the contents of the agreement, Huo Sining looked up to see the reactions of the reporters present, but most of them were unclear about what the image meant, each one furrowing their brows in bafflement.
Not just the reporters, but even those watching the live stream across the four major portal websites were bewildered, quickly opening the bullet comment mode, and a barrage of question marks floated above the video.
"What the heck? Isn’t this supposed to be a clarification report? Why did an English agreement appear?"
"This style is so bizarre, feels completely unrelated."
"What does Huo Sining mean? Why can’t I understand it? Is it because my intelligence isn’t enough?"
"Big question mark, surprised face, why does this feel so odd? What’s the connection between this agreement and the twelve zodiac beast heads?"
Amidst everyone’s confusion, suddenly, a few bits of text appeared quickly in the bullet comments, flying so fast that many didn’t have time to catch them before they flew past.
"Holy moly, I’ve signed an agreement like this too, hurry up and look for it. I remember vaguely using it as toilet paper!"
"Isn’t this the agreement from Polante Volcano Park? Has Huo Sining also been to the Volcano Park?!"
"This Volcano Park is specifically designed as a theme park for visitors to dig diamonds. The agreement’s signing date is the day before the Philadelphia Black Market auction. Later, Huo Sining traded a batch of diamonds with that British guy. Oh my, could it be what I suspect?"
"Upstairs, I think you might have uncovered the truth!"
A few quick-thinking individuals had already made the connection between this park agreement and the diamond trade Huo Sining mentioned, but the matter seemed too absurd and unbelievable, so these individuals shared their thoughts and guesses in the bullet comments, but nobody believed them. Consequently, despite the rapid commentary, it didn’t trigger much response.
However, the reporters under the stage at Sheng Tang Hotel were different, as they were here to investigate and clarify the situation. They certainly wouldn’t allow this to be glossed over; unless they got to the bottom of it, they wouldn’t leave easily.
"Miss Huo, is this agreement related to your purchase of the two beast heads?" Immediately, a reporter stood up to question, this aggressive reporter was the same one who previously condemned Huo Sining for disgracing the nation.
Huo Sining had guessed this reporter might be one of the individuals attempting to infiltrate and disrupt her press conference, but this matter didn’t concern her. What she must do now is seize control, ensuring no one derails the pace she set.
So she smiled and nodded, saying, "Indeed, it is related. Didn’t you, reporter friend, previously say that my purchase of the two beast heads allowed Americans to earn tenfold the money, tarnishing Huaxia’s international image and disgracing the nation? Then what if I told you that the money wasn’t paid by me, but by the Americans themselves, what would you say?"
