Reborn As Super Heiress
Chapter 1996 - 1899: The Pot Boils Over
Clayflo was still in a deep sleep when a piercing ringtone from his cellphone woke him up.
He felt instantly annoyed, furrowed his brow, and directly pressed the phone to continue holding the woman in his arms and sleep sweetly.
However, moments later, the call came directly to the landline at home, and the caller was very persistent—the phone kept ringing. With rising anger, Clayflo forcefully suppressed the surge of waking anger, grabbed the handset and said coldly:
"You better have something important to report; otherwise, tomorrow morning you’ll pack up and get the hell out of here!"
The breathing on the other end paused momentarily, but quickly, the person responded urgently:
"Boss, this is a real emergency; something has happened. News from Huaxia Country came, Huo Sining held another press conference; those diamonds she has were really dug out from the Oregon Volcano Park!"
"What?"
Clayflo’s mind instantly cleared, he sat up abruptly from the bed, disregarding the dissatisfied mumblings of the woman beside him, and quickly got out of bed, throwing on clothes and running out.
His face was pale, and he ran to the study with a stern face and opened the video sent by his subordinate.
It didn’t take long for Clayflo to be dumbfounded as he watched.
Although when Windsor Reed released the clarifying video, Clayflo suspected that the origin of the batch of diamonds Huo Sining had was problematic, even guessed that those diamonds might indeed have been dug from Volcano Park.
But this suspicion, no matter what, couldn’t convince Clayflo himself.
The boss behind that Oregon Volcano Park wasn’t anyone else; it was one of the heirs of the Rothschild Family, his third uncle’s son, Oltin.
Though he hadn’t visited the Volcano Park, he had investigated it—an old mining area that’s been mined for over a hundred years; really valuable diamonds had long been extracted, with only some small diamond fragments left, hence his cousin turned the area into a park, hoping to use the diamond digging gimmick to attract tourists and accumulate wealth.
After all, uncovering a diamond means the possibility of overnight wealth, such a substantial allure to lots of Americans is irresistibly tempting.
The fact indeed unfolded as Oltin anticipated, due to the park’s existence, many Americans even traveled to Oregon from afar, just to dig out a diamond by themselves.
Nevertheless, most people came full of excitement but left ambivalently.
To maintain and stir up the heat surrounding the Volcano Park, Oltin periodically buried some diamonds of little value within the park, allowing tourists to successfully dig them up, creating a belief among all that diamonds were indeed beneath the Volcano Park, thus keeping it perpetually bustling with tourists.
Outsiders only saw the gains, but Clayflo who knew the inside story scoffed at it.
Yet, he never anticipated that this old trickster of a mining area—what he regarded as a fraudulent scam—was genuinely unearthed by that woman named Huo, with so many valuable diamonds gone.
In two days, $350 million, Clayflo was utterly stunned—even with his intelligence and resourcefulness, he couldn’t have possibly predicted, this Huaxia woman named Huo would be so ruthless, blocking all his pre-prepared routes in one swift move.
It was at this moment that Clayflo began to feel an ominous sensation rising within him. He regretted his impulsive anger, regretted acting out his grievances because he and his sister suffered from the woman’s schemes.
Only now did Clayflo realize that during the days the woman spent in Philadelphia, despite the unfavorable tides against her, she remained calm, without any signs of panic.
Back then, he thought the woman was merely putting on a brave front, even gloating, waiting eagerly to see the woman’s embarrassing plight once she returned home.
Reflecting now, the real fool was himself—the woman already knew he was the one behind the scenes, had even figured out countermeasures, simply waiting for his move, so she could discreetly flip the tables, eventually returning his attack!
The Duke of the Rothschild Family, who had long mastered the commercial battlefield, always felt he was in control, yet this time, he had been outsmarted by a woman!
Yet, perhaps this wasn’t the worst; the real dire issue was still forthcoming.
The video of the news release didn’t only circulate from Huaxia Country to America; it also reached Dongyang, England, D Country—even the elders of the Rothschild’s castle in D Country saw it.
"Clayflo is still too young, not steady enough in his actions. Seems like he needs more training."
"That Huaxia woman does have some skills. Clayflo shouldn’t have made an enemy of her, it’s really foolish."
"It’s infuriating; what’s Clayflo doing? It’s unacceptable that his stupidity drags Oltin into trouble alongside him. Will Oltin’s park continue operating with that Huaxia woman making a mess?"
"These siblings are too reckless; father, you really should discipline them a bit, lest they continue causing trouble outside."
A group of D Country individuals discussed within the castle, while the Beast Head incident continued to ferment. From the end of Huo Sining’s press conference, within five hours, from developed countries like America and England to developing ones like F Country and Country Y—everywhere knew about the news and reported on it.
Moreover, some American media, unsatisfied with its mere volume, highlighted Huo Sining’s deeds across major sections; simultaneously, they successively exposed details about the Philadelphia Black Market boss Clayflo’s auction of the twelve zodiac animal heads, even the hidden figures like the Volcano Park’s owner behind the scenes, Oltin.
As soon as this exposure occurred, many people were surprised to find that both Clayflo and Oltin were indeed surnamed Rothschild, belonging to D Country Rothschild Family.
The whole of America was in an uproar, with rumors flying everywhere and all types of news—true or false—dominating the major news sections of American media.
