Chapter 2036: Chapter 1939: Bear the Consequences Yourself

Zhou Shitao’s face turned livid with anger. He had been wondering why that girl suddenly applied to be an exchange student and went to Dongyang for a few months, doing something utterly useless. Back then, the girl had all sorts of reasons to argue forcefully, and Zhou Shitao couldn’t resist Huo Sining’s determination, so he let her be.

But now it seemed he had been completely fooled. That girl wasn’t going there to be an exchange student; she was clearly going there to secretly have a baby!

The more Zhou Shitao thought about it, the more he felt this deduction was correct, and he trembled with rage all over.

Giving birth a year ago meant that two years ago, his precious young apprentice was already taken advantage of by that Gu family boy! And two years ago, his young apprentice had just turned into an adult, yet that Gu family boy was completely out of line!

Thinking about it, Zhou Shitao couldn’t contain his emotions for a moment. Even though he often scolded his apprentice, deep down, he was very fond of her. Compared to those other troublesome boys he mentored, this young apprentice held a special place in his heart, almost like a granddaughter whom he cherished and loved more than a typical apprentice.

But this little one whom he feared would melt in his mouth and break in his hands turned out to be taken advantage of by that reckless boy from the Gu family. Even though the two of them got married recently, Zhou Shitao still found it hard to accept.

His dear apprentice is only twenty now! At such a blooming age, she should be living life freely, seeing what she hasn’t seen, doing what she’s dreamed of doing, and not be shackled by the grave of marriage.

Zhou Shitao originally intended to advise Huo Sining to have children a few years later. Because once a woman has a baby, she gets bogged down, all her focus and energy drawn toward the child. By that time, any aspirations Huo Sining had for research would be in vain.

Huo Sining’s talent is so exceptional that not only Zhou Shitao, but even other elders knew a talent like hers is a once-in-a-century occurrence, so most of them hoped she could settle down and focus on research. Many eyes were set on Huo Sining, full of expectation and curiosity about how far she could go down this path.

But what drove Zhou Shitao to anger and even despair was the fact that his hopeful apprentice was so heedlessly ruined by that Gu family boy, not only marrying early but also secretly having a child without his knowledge!

Zhou Shitao was boiling with anger and couldn’t accept the reality in front of his eyes, with countless emotions surging inside him.

Seeing her master’s strange expression, Huo Sining knew they were in trouble. However, this wasn’t something to discuss in the hotel lobby, so she forced a few awkward laughs and spoke to Ji Kun and her master standing beside her:

"Master, there might be a slight misunderstanding with the situation. Please come upstairs with me, and let me explain everything to you later, alright? Please, don’t get mad right now!"

Her words had the opposite effect; Zhou Shitao assumed Huo Sining was defending Gu Xu and became even angrier:

"You’re trying to drive me insane, aren’t you? Do you think I’ll not hold you accountable? Let me tell you, I’ll deal with that Gu boy first, and then I’ll settle things with you!"

With that, Zhou Shitao strode towards the hotel elevator while tremblingly pulling out his phone to call Gu Xu.

Once the call connected, Zhou Shitao didn’t give Gu Xu any chance to explain, bluntly demanding:

"Imperial Capital to Fucheng is a three-hour flight. I’m giving you four hours. It’s two in the afternoon now; I hope to see you at Fucheng Hotel by six tonight. Face the consequences if you don’t show up!"

After saying this, Zhou Shitao hung up the call directly. Huo Sining was bewildered and hadn’t expected her master to make such a surprising move, which made her panic:

"Master, you really misunderstood. This matter has nothing to do with Gu Xu; it’s me. Please listen to me; it really has nothing to do with Gu Xu!"

Zhou Shitao’s eyes were dark and bloodshot. He glanced sideways at Huo Sining and said, "If you speak for that Gu boy again, just wait till he arrives, and see if I don’t break his legs!"

Seeing her master truly angry for the first time, Huo Sining was thoroughly shocked and dared not speak again. She could only obediently sit aside and quietly follow her master and senior brother into the elevator.

In the room, after dropping off the child, Huo Sining eagerly wanted to talk with Zhou Shitao, but he simply ignored her, stating, "I won’t say a word until that Gu boy arrives."

Huo Sining felt frustrated and sat dejectedly on the sofa, not even in the mood to deal with the culprit.

Meanwhile, Ji Kun, standing nearby, took an instant liking to the little one when he saw him and reached out to pick the child up.

Originally, Huo Sining was sitting on the sofa, daydreaming, but seeing Ji Kun’s actions jolted her, and she sprang up from the sofa, stopping him abruptly.

Ji Kun looked puzzled and slightly hurt, gazing at Huo Sining with grievance, "Junior sister, aren’t you overreacting? I only wanted to play with this cute little one, your daughter. Can’t I even hold her?"

Huo Sining’s mouth twitched unconsciously. She looked back at the grinning little fatty, not knowing how to begin explaining.

Suddenly, she recalled yesterday’s incident. When Wu Jun discovered the little one’s existence, he volunteered to buy baby supplies and returned, breathless, with a load of milk powder, diapers, and clothes.

Back then, Huo Sining was unaware of the little one’s uniqueness. She was busy with her paper on the Han Princess Tomb and couldn’t be bothered with the mischievous kid. Seeing Wu Jun bringing back so many things, she quickly shooed him into the bedroom, telling him to dress and tidy up the kid.

However, after assigning the task to Wu Jun and delving back into her paper, she suddenly heard a scream from Wu Jun in the bedroom.

Hearing the scream, Huo Sining leapt up from her chair and rushed into the bedroom, where she was startled at the sight before her.

The baby supplies were scattered all over the bed, Wu Jun was sprawled on the floor unconscious, while the little one on the bed grinned with satisfaction and chuckled, seemingly proud of the feat achieved.
