Saying this, Gu Xu took a stack of documents out of his briefcase and said:

"These are the child’s information, along with certifications from the police station and orphanage, and the adoption paperwork. Please take a look. The child isn’t our biological one, but we have adopted her, and in the future, we will treat her as our own. Even if Ningning and I have other children, we will certainly treat her equally, without any discrimination."

Gu Xu handed the documents to Zhou Shitao and Ji Kun, while Huo Sining stood dumbfounded, until she actually saw an adoption document regarding the child. Not only was there a photo of the little one, but also blood type and DNA samples, making the procedure seem legitimate enough to be mistaken as real.

Huo Sining was somewhat stunned, subconsciously asking:

"When did you prepare this?"

Gu Xu raised his eyebrows slightly, smiling: "You suddenly gave me such a surprise, making me someone’s dad overnight. Do you think I could rest easy? I don’t want to be a free dad to anyone, raising a child till someone suddenly pops up to claim her, so I made it official. No one can take her away now."

Huo Sining realized what Gu Xu meant, and her mouth formed an ’O’ shape, looking at Gu Xu in disbelief, asking quietly:

"Are these things... all real?"

"Otherwise, what do you think?"

Gu Xu chuckled, reaching out to gently ruffle his wife’s hair, feeling very fond of her confused look:

"Did you really think your husband wouldn’t have the capability to do this, needing fake documents to fool your master? Moreover, your master, although aged, hasn’t become muddled. If these documents were fake, do you think he couldn’t tell?"

Gu Xu laughed: "Yesterday. I asked your good sister to secretly pluck a few hairs from the little one and take a few drops of blood. I had someone draft the documents overnight. With these things, this little one is now officially part of our family, a member of our household. Neither your master nor our parents or grandparents will make a fuss about this anymore."

Huo Sining’s eyes reddened; she could tell Gu Xu was saying this to support her.

This little chubby one appeared out of nowhere, something Gu Xu couldn’t be unaware of. It meant that the parents of this child would not come looking for her.

Yet, Gu Xu had still calmly and thoughtfully done all this to handle the subsequent matters for her unexpected shock, avoiding many troubles. This made Huo Sining marvel at how deeply this man loved her, with no reservations and complete trust.

This felt wonderful, and Huo Sining couldn’t help but slightly lift the corners of her mouth, feeling very happy.
