Reborn In The 90's: Saving My Siblings With A Fishing System
Chapter 184: Who wronged who?
The blue crabs were a delicacy as well, and Han Ruochen was confident that as long as she tried hard enough, she would be able to make Han Beijiang eat dinner. Even if Han Yong was not here, she had been following him ever since she was a child. How could she not know how to cook just like her brother? Thus, even though she had no interest in cooking, she could cook pretty well.
This was one of the reasons why the Yang family did not break her legs in the initial years. They were wary of her, but at the same time, they were greedy for her cooking. Han Ziyan was the same. However, her reasons were completely different; she just liked ordering and making Han Ruochen work for her. It gave her a sense of comfort and superiority.
Han Ruochen shook her head and pushed those bad memories to the back of her head.
"Han Ruochen, you are so lucky; can’t you share some luck with us?" Aunt Gossip asked with greed flashing in her eyes.
Hearing her request, Han Ruochen simply smiled. She said, "If this were a thing that could have been shared, then I naturally would have shared it with you all. I mean, we are from the same village."
Han Ruochen had exchanged this luck after suffering for more than a decade; she went from a young woman with dreams to an old and crippled woman who was looked down on by her own children. There was no way anyone could share this luck with her.
She exchanged a few words with the villagers, then asked Tong Zhaodi to take the seafood to her uncle. She was tired after running around for the entire day and wanted to rest. Anyway, these things did not cost much, and the state-run restaurant could buy them. What was more, she trusted her second uncle very much; he would never dare to cheat her, and even if he dared to cheat her, her grandmother would never allow him to do it.
By the time she was done rounding up everything and returned home with the two pomfrets and crabs, the sun had already set. As Han Ruochen pushed the door of her house open, except for her father, her mother and Han Ziyan all pulled long faces at her.
She knew what was going on and was rather calm. She blinked her eyes and greeted everyone, "Mom, Dad, Ziyan, I am back home." She then walked inside the house and went straight to the kitchen, where she poured herself a glass of water. As soon as she turned around and headed out of the kitchen with the glass of water, she heard her mother sneer, "You know how to come back? I thought that after ruining your sister’s reputation, you would have the shame to hide your face but it seemed like you are much more shameless than I thought. Even after defaming your sister, you still have the guts to stand in front of us as bold as brass!"
Meng Yunhan gave her husband a pointed look as if trying to silently convey that Han Ruochen was not as simple as he thought; however, Han Yichen did not even give her a look and continued looking at Han Ruochen. He knew that his daughter was not an unreasonable person, and she would never do what Han Ziyan and Meng Yunhan claimed that she did.
Han Ruochen was not even the slightest bit surprised that Han Ziyan had accused her. She simply turned to look at her father, and once she was sure that he had not taken a word of these two women to heart, she heaved a sigh of relief and turned relaxed. She then said to her mother, "Mom, let’s put aside the fact that I defamed Ziyan. What and where did I defame her? What did I say that could be counted as me defaming her?"
Han Yichen heaved a sigh of relief. He knew that his daughter was not the kind of person who would talk about her family members with someone. She was not the gossipy kind. How could she say anything to Zhai Heng?
"You tell me honestly, did you or did you say something to the young master who was with you just now?" Meng Yunhan asked at once. She did not want Han Ruochen to slip away this time. She was going to prove that the woman was trying to ruin their family, no matter what!
"I did not say a word. In fact, I have never mentioned her in front of him."
"You are lying; if you have never mentioned me why did that young master hate me to the core? You must have blackened my name in front of him, haven’t you? You still don’t want to admit that you have ruined my reputation?" Han Ziyan jumped up in the air; she raised her hand and pointed at Han Ruochen’s nose angrily.
"Ziyan, you are really funny. You are not money; why must everyone like you? Do you mean to say that as long as you speak to someone, they should like you instinctively? Just because someone doesn’t like you, are you going to put the blame on my head like this?" Han Ruochen sneered coldly.
"Impossible. If you have never spoken ill of me, then why will the young master hate me so much?" Han Ziyan was so ashamed that she did not even want to recall the words that the young man had said to her; in front of the entire village, he stated that she was the one who had bribed the higher-ups and got the job. Because of his words, the entire village now knew that Han Ruochen was the one who worked hard and climbed up bit by bit. She, on the other hand, took the shortcut and got a job by bribing.
Just the thought alone of how everyone would speak badly behind her made Han Ziyan want to die!
