Reborn In The 90's: Saving My Siblings With A Fishing System
Chapter 240: Buying the Old Courtyard
Han Ruochen felt like she had been caught between two tycoons. One was not willing to give up, and one was not willing to step down. Because the two of them were engaged in a fight, Han Ruochen did not have the chance to say anything. She could simply stare at the two men who were lost in their own world. Anyway, she was not going to intervene in their fight; who was she to tell these two old men to stop fighting?
"Old Jiang, you better not cause trouble here." Old Master Bo was so furious that his moustache was trembling. When he heard that Han Ruochen had come looking for him, he was so happy that he was about to fly. The last time she came to see him, the things that she brought were really good. It even brought a bunch of new wave customers, and his boss praised him for having a keen eye.
So how could he allow Old Master Jiang to snatch such a good thing? He would rather fight to the death with Old Master Jiang than give up even a single golden threadfin bream.
Old Master Jiang arched a brow and curled his lips. He said to Old Master Bo, "When did I cause trouble? I am just trying to make a purchase. Is there something wrong with that? It’s not like I am forcing her."
With him acting so ostentatiously, there was nothing that Old Master Bo could do. He was so angry that he could not help but act like a child.
"Old Jiang, Ruochen has promised to sell all the good things to me first. Since she came to look for me, she must be here to sell these good things to me. Don’t come in between and make things messy." Old Master Bo snorted and turned to look at Han Ruochen. He smiled at her flatteringly and said to her in a low voice, "Ruochen, come, come with me. There is no need to listen to this annoying old man. He must have troubled you with his nonsense, right?"
Han Ruochen: "..."
As if she could say anything in response to that. She could only smile awkwardly while Old Master Jiang glared at his old friend. His temper flared up, and he could not help but scoff angrily, "What do you mean? I am the one speaking nonsense?" He turned to look at Han Ruochen and then asked, "You girl, tell me which part of my words was nonsense? I saw something good and wanted to purchase it from you. Is there something wrong with that?"
"Of course not." Han Ruochen shook her head, and Old Master Bo glared at her as if he were about to flare up, but then he heard Han Ruochen say, "But Uncle Bo is right; I indeed promised him that I will sell this load to him."
Only then did Old Master Bo smile at Han Ruochen. He then shot a proactive look at Old Master Jiang, who narrowed his eyes. He looked like he really wanted to eat someone. He stared at Old Master Bo with vicious eyes. If not for the fact that he was the head chef of a popular restaurant, he would have definitely beaten this man up. In the end, he still let his rationality reign over and glanced at Han Ruochen with a calm look on his face.
Taking out his card, he handed it to Han Ruochen and said to her, "If you have something good to sell the next time, you can always come to look for me. I will pay you just the same amount as him." This time, he had to stop because the two of them reached the market price of the bluefin tuna, but the next time, he was sure that he would defeat Old Master Bo!
With that, he flicked his sleeves and left the restaurant with a hint of arrogance in his eyes.
Once he was gone, Old Master Bo rolled his eyes and turned to look at Han Ruochen with a smile on his lips. He said to her, "Ruochen, don’t take his words to heart. That old man is not a good thing; he has always been arrogant since he was young."
Han Ruochen smiled as she had not taken Old Master Jiang’s words to her heart. Anyway, the man was cold on the surface but nice underneath. Even though he was acting all smug and arrogant, he did not do anything to her and did not steal anything. At most, he was just a bit stubborn, but not someone who could not understand reason.
"It’s alright, Uncle Bo. I am not upset." Han Ruochen picked up the glass of water placed in front of her and took a sip from it. "Master Jiang does not seem like a bad man." At most, he was just a weirdo who did not know how to use his words properly.
Old Master Bo was quite satisfied with Han Ruochen’s performance. It seemed like he did not make a mistake when he took Han Ruochen under his wing. Fortunately, his mind was in the right place and he did not send Han Ruochen away the last time she came to see him or else the one who would be making a lot of money today would be Old Master Jiang! Because the restaurant at a short distance belonged to Old Master Jiang.
If he had not accepted Han Ruochen’s supplies the last time, he knew that Han Ruochen would have definitely gone to Old Master Jiang. Then the one who would be praised would be Old Master Jiang and not him!
However, fortunately, fortunately, nothing like that happened.
He nodded and said to Han Ruochen, "Let’s discuss the prices of these supplies, alright?"
Han Ruochen agreed and the two of them immediately started to discuss the price breakdown. In the end, the bluefin tuna were sold for fifteen thousand yuan each and Han Ruochen earned forty-five thousand yuan from them. As for the threadfin bream, those were sold for three thousand yuan and the spider crab was sold for four thousand yuan.
Making her savings fifty thousand yuan!
"What?"
When Second Uncle Han heard the words of his niece, he was simply stupefied. He blinked his eyes and questioned, "Han Ruochen, have you lost your mind? Why would you even do something so foolish?" Just now, he heard Han Ruochen say that she wanted to buy the old dilapidated house at the corner of Black Willow Street and did not know what to say. That house was so old that no one wanted to buy it, but it belonged to a landowner, and he had already set the price of the courtyard at twenty thousand yuan.
What was more, there was an old rumour going around on the street. It was said that a woman committed suicide in that house because the landowner lied to her and made her his mistress, making her give birth to an illegitimate child. Both of them died right in front of that house; no one knew whether there was any truth in the rumour, but no one was willing to buy that courtyard.
Even then, Old Chu was not willing to sell that courtyard for a lesser price. So why was Han Ruochen willing to buy that haunted courtyard?
Han Ruochen simply smiled and said, "Second Uncle, believe me. I will never make a losing deal since I said that the courtyard will definitely be useful in the future; it will one day return twice the fortune to us. Just let me buy it." Han Ruochen knew that the courtyard would be sold for a high price once the demolition news was determined. And it won’t take longer than three to four months; she had to buy this house at all costs because soon this place would be purchased by the government. And then sold to a company that would further develop this street into a shopping district.
Because of this, this courtyard would be sold for more than five hundred thousand yuan. That was a price that many would die for in this economy. In her past life, Yang Jianming was lucky enough to buy this courtyard after he saved Master Chu from a small pickpocket. However, in this life, she would be the one snatching the blessing from the Yang family. Anyway, without her family’s help, the Yang family would never be able to purchase this courtyard.
More importantly, this could be considered as the Yang family’s compensation for her.
When Second Uncle Han heard her words, there was nothing he could say to her. After all, Han Ruochen was now a woman with an independent mind. And from her performance, it seemed like Han Ruochen was doing much better than the rest of the people who were collecting seafood. Surely, there was nothing wrong with listening to her, right?
In the end, Second Uncle Han could not resist her pleading and went to look for Old Master Chu. 𝒻𝓇𝑒𝘦𝘸𝑒𝒷𝓃ℴ𝑣𝘦𝑙.𝒸ℴ𝘮
Old Master Chu was a landlord, but he lived in a small house at the corner of the street. When Second Uncle Han arrived at the house, he could not help but gulp in fright. No matter how he looked at it, this place did not look like a good one!
