Chapter 248: Meeting an Old Woman

Han Ruochen had no idea that Han Ziyan was still bent on making her get married to an idiot. If she had even the slightest bit of idea, she would have fought to the death with that woman. It was bad enough that she had caused so much trouble for her in her past life, but that woman was still not willing to let her go. How could she not deal with her?

However, it was a pity that Han Ruochen did not know. She was standing at the railway station with her father at the moment. Her father had used some of his connections and booked three sleeper seats for the three of them. As for the lessons at the hospital, he had already called and relayed to the professors that it was an emergency, and they needed to take Han Beijiang along with them. Of course, Professor Luo understood their problems and allowed them to take a few days off.

"Here you go," said Han Yichen as he handed two egg rolls to Han Ruochen.

Han Ruochen saw the egg rolls and frowned. A feeling of confusion started to rise in her heart, and she said to her father, "Dad, we just finished eating breakfast."

"I know." Han Yichen nodded and then explained in a low voice, "You two might be unaware of this, but there are many human traffickers on the train. They usually target those who have nothing to eat, especially young children." He turned to look at Han Beijiang with a solemn look in his eyes. Though Han Beijiang was a special child, he was good-looking, and with Han Ruochen’s care, he looked even more beautiful, just like a blessed child with chubby cheeks and doe-like eyes.

He was worried that Han Beijiang would be targeted on the train and bought two egg rolls with him. If those traffickers saw these rolls, they might not try to offer any food to his children.

When Han Ruochen heard her father’s explanation, she was stunned. Oops, because she had been locked up in the Yang family’s house for a long time and did not have any idea about such things. When was the last time she even took a train in her previous life? Honestly, she could not even remember.

It was a good thing that her father reminded her, or else it would have totally slipped her mind.

"We will pay attention to this, Father," said Han Ruochen. She then turned to look at Han Beijiang and warned him seriously, "Don’t take anything from a stranger. If you take their food, then they will take you away from your sister and then sell you off."

Han Beijiang hurriedly nodded. He understood the importance of staying put and not taking anything from the strangers.

Seeing that Han Beijiang seemed to have understood, Han Ruochen sighed in relief.

Han Yichen looked at the two siblings, and his gaze couldn’t help but soften. If only Meng Yunhan had understood how good their life was, then their family would have been perfect. However, Han Yichen shook his head and did not think about these messy things anymore. He got to his feet and then said to Han Ruochen and Han Beijiang, "Let’s go. Our train is here."

This journey was a long one. Meng Yunhan seemed to have thought things through when she married Han Xuehan. She must have been worried that Han Xuehan would return home and complain to her father if she married her off to a place closer to their village, so she married her as far as possible. Thus, the train ride would take at least two days before they could arrive at the village where Han Xuehan lived.

The three of them got on the train and finally found their seats. Han Yichen was worried that Han Ruochen would be troubled at night, so he sent her to the upper seat while he and Han Beijiang took the middle one. Of course, as no one was sleeping at that moment, the three of them were sitting at the lowest berth.

Han Beijiang was very interested in the scenery outside the train. He sat next to the window and stared at the hustle and bustle at the station. His eyes seemed to be glued to the station, and every once in a while, he would turn to look at Han Ruochen and then point at something on the train. Han Ruochen understood his meaning and explained everything to him.

She was not the slightest bit impatient.

"It seems like your brother is having fun." A jovial voice spoke from the front, and Han Ruochen raised her head and looked at the old woman who was holding a child in her arms. From the looks of it, the child seemed to be sleeping, but something about the current situation made her frown. However, she did not speak, nor did she jump to any conclusions.

She simply nodded and agreed. "It is his first time on the train." Though Han Ruochen pretended to be docile and kind, she glanced at the woman with a suspicious look in her eyes, and sure enough, as soon as the woman heard that this was Han Beijiang’s first time on the train, there was a sly glint in her eyes. Seeing this, Han Ruochen’s heart could not help but beat wildly.

Don’t tell her. Was it possible for such a coincidence to happen?

However, Han Ruochen did not show anything on her face and simply nodded. She had a feeling that there was something wrong with the woman in front of her.

"I see. I see." The old woman nodded with a smile on her lips. She then laid the boy in her lap and took out some buns from her bag before saying to Han Ruochen, "Here, you go. I made them early in the morning."

"No, thank you." Seeing that the old woman was handing the buns to his daughter, Han Yichen immediately spoke up. He looked at the old woman with a wary look in his eyes and refused. "We have brought egg rolls."
