Reborn In The 90's: Saving My Siblings With A Fishing System
Chapter 331: Go By The Book (II)
Though it seemed like Han Ruochen was not making any plans, she was actually moving forward with the cunning of a lioness. She knew that if she disclosed the truth right away, her father might not be able to bear the brunt of the shock and might end up falling sick. What was more, the current situation of their family did not allow such a thing to happen. If Han Yichen fell sick, then Han Ruochen would have to take care of the entire family.
And there was one more thing that his foolish nephew had not considered. Han Yichen and Meng Yunhan had been married for more than twenty years. Even if they fight every day, they must have some sort of affection between the two of them; at least Han Yichen must have some emotions when it came to his wife. Thus, there was a chance that Meng Yunhan might turn things around and say that she never had an affair or that she was forced.
A sly woman like Meng Yunhan could do anything when she was pushed into a corner.
Han Ruochen must be aware of this as well, which was why she was spending her time breaking the trust that her father had in her mother. Such that when the time the truth would be revealed came, Meng Yunhan wouldn’t be able to turn things around. She was very well aware of the proverb that went–haste makes waste.
If this young lady was willing, then she could have become a good soldier in the army. She was really quick-witted.
It might seem like she was at a disadvantage by not gaining any advantage, but the truth was that she had protected her benefits and interests very well.
Under such a dire situation, where she was aware of the fact that the adopted sister was actually her half-sister, she was not only able to control her emotions but was also able to come up with a tactic that could help her win the overall game. Compared to his nephew, this young lady was worlds apart. Look at Zhai Heng; he was only schemed against once and did not suffer any lasting damage, and yet he could not even control his emotions.
"Alright, you need to control your emotions a little. Learn a few things from your friend; even if she doesn’t believe you, she is still able to keep things calm on the surface. Thats because she knows that one should never show the weakness of their family outside. You are the young master of the Zhai family, and you should be aware of this skill." Zhou Ziming sternly reminded his nephew and patted him on his shoulder. He then whispered a few words of wisdom to Zhai Heng and told him why Han Ruochen never fought back with Han Ziyan.
When Zhai Heng heard Zhou Ziming’s words, his eyes lit up, and he suddenly understood why Han Ruochen was so calm even though she was schemed to death by that adoptive sister and her mother.
He nodded and went inside the mansion. However, as soon as he entered, ready to fight with that cousin of yours, Zhai Heng realised that he was not at home. Forget about Yun Tao; even Madam Yun was not there. One had to admit that even though Madam Yun made a lot of fuss, she was still ashamed to face Zhai Heng.
Zhai Heng almost missed his meeting because he ate fruits that were injected with a sleeping pill draught; even if she insisted that Yun Tao did it unknowingly, Madam Yun knew in her heart that it was impossible for such a thing to be unintentional. 𝒇𝒓𝙚𝒆𝔀𝓮𝓫𝒏𝓸𝙫𝓮𝓵.𝓬𝙤𝙢
Even if Yun Tao wanted to argue that he did it because he was worried that Zhai Heng would be too nervous to sleep, as it was his first time holding a meeting and dealing with clients, and if he told the truth to Zhai Heng, he would not have eaten the fruits, one could tell that the dose was way too high! This was a matter of dealing with sleeping pills; if anything went wrong, then a life would be at stake.
Zhai Heng was fortunate that the dose did not do him any great harm!
More importantly, Zhai Heng was determined to make a fuss as well. Like he said, how could it be such a coincidence that the day he overslept, Yun Tao saw someone leave the house? Even if he had a good reason, one could not help but be suspicious of Yun Tao; besides the reason that Yun Tao gave was full of loopholes, just as Zhai Muchen stated.
"Ah Heng, you are back?" Old Master Zhai glanced at his grandson and then turned to look at Zhai Muchen, who was reading a book. He had no idea what to do with the current situation. His head was aching, and he felt like he was caught between three heavy forces. His two grandsons were determined to hold Yun Tao accountable, and his daughter was sobbing a river in front of him. She claimed that her son did not mean it, but who would be willing to trust Yun Tao in such a situation?
"Yeah." Zhai Heng responded dully.
"Did you two go to meet the young lady of the Han family?" Old Master Zhai asked his grandson when he realised that Zhai Heng was blaming him. But what was he supposed to do? He could not possibly ignore his daughter. But even if his daughter argued with him by saying that it was all because Yun Tao was worried, he could not trust her blindly.
"I have met with her; she is a good lady. There is nothing wrong with Ah Heng hanging out with her, Uncle Zhai." Zhou Ziming paused and then added, "I think we should forget about the nonsense that Madam Yun came up with; Miss Han doesn’t seem to be interested in Ah Heng like that, and the two of them are clearly just friends. I hope you will ask your daughter to stop spreading rumours or else a young woman’s reputation would be ruined for no reason."
"Of course she would keep her mouth restrained from now on." Before Old Master Zhai could speak up, Zhai Muchen sneered. "After this incident, there is no need to talk about Uncle’s promotion. We will go by the book and his promotion will depend on his abilities."
