Chapter 114: Chapter 102: What Attack Power Could a Big White Goose Have?

This flock of white geese looked to be at least ten strong. Each one was the size of five large roosters. One particularly large goose trailed at the very back, flapping its wings and honking, "HONK HONK HONK." Its beak snapped open and shut as if shouting, ’Charge!’

"Flora Bloom, help me! These geese are crazy!"

Flora Bloom stood her ground, assessing the geese’s offensive capabilities. So far, she hadn’t sensed any superpower fluctuations from the flock. If they were limited to physical attacks—say, pecking with their beaks—then Cynthia Grant and Irvin Holden weren’t in any real danger. They would just get a little roughed up.

Watching Cynthia Grant and Irvin Holden get chased by the flock, clutching their butts while yelping in pain one moment and screaming for help the next, Flora Bloom almost burst out laughing. With a wave of her hand, she conjured a water shield between them and the geese, giving them a reprieve.

When Cynthia Grant saw Flora Bloom take action, she and Irvin Holden glanced back. A thick water shield now stood between them and the flock of geese, and they breathed a collective sigh of relief.

The sound of "HONK HONK HONK" came from the other side of the shield, followed immediately by a loud SPLASH. The water shield disintegrated, scattering across the ground and splashing both of them.

The geese at the front had unleashed a tiger-like frenzy of pecks, causing Flora Bloom’s water shield to instantly shatter.

This turn of events startled Flora Bloom. ’Good heavens,’ she thought. ’My Water Ability, when combined with Ethan Monroe’s earth wall, was strong enough to block the explosive attacks of a school of horse mackerel. It even held back the rat swarm at the flour mill for a while. How can it be so fragile against this flock of dopey-looking geese?’

She waved her hand again, conjuring another water shield behind Cynthia Grant and Irvin Holden.

"Get over here! Now!"

Without another look at the geese behind them, the two sprinted toward Flora Bloom.

Flora Bloom tried the same tactic she’d used against the rat swarm, transforming her Water Ability into a series of successive water shields to block the geese and stop their advance.

But to her amazement, the dopey geese completely ignored her water shields, charging straight through them one by one without slowing down in the slightest.

What made Flora Bloom’s eye twitch was that the geese passed through her water shields completely unharmed and unimpeded, continuing their charge toward them at full speed.

"What the hell! Has my water shield stopped working?"

Flora Bloom looked at the eggs in Cynthia Grant’s and Irvin Holden’s hands, wishing she could personally take them back to the geese—if they would even accept them.

Clearly, the dozen or so enormous geese were charging menacingly toward the well. The "HONK HONK HONK" grew louder and closer. Flora Bloom stared at their golden-yellow beaks and imagined the bone-shattering feeling of being bitten by one, which made her scalp tingle with fear.

"Cynthia Grant, you’re going to be the death of me! What were you thinking, stealing their eggs?"

Cynthia Grant was panicking, too. She didn’t know whether to hold on to the two goose eggs or put them down, and nearly flung them away in her fright.

"Easy does it! I’m begging you. If those break, that flock will go absolutely insane. We’ll be the first—no, the first three—humans to be pecked to death by a flock of geese."

Cynthia Grant steadied her grip on the eggs and, still shaken, shoved them into Flora Bloom’s hands. Suddenly, inspiration struck. "Wait, where’s Whitey? Don’t you have a little white tiger? Let him out!"

Flora Bloom slapped her forehead, chiding herself. ’I really was scared witless by a flock of menacing geese.’ She had a whole host of evolved creatures in her dimension. As long as they didn’t run into something exceptionally powerful, unleashing them all at once would make her an unstoppable force.

In an instant, the little white tiger appeared at her right, followed by Vert and the Golden Cicada above her. Monkey One, Monkey Two, and Little Armor appeared before her, and Big Peacock and Little Peacock materialized at her sides.

"Go, go, go! All of you, get them! But don’t kill them; I need them alive. Your master’s future meat supply depends on you!"

With her host of evolved creatures assembled, Flora Bloom could finally relax. ’This should be safe enough,’ she thought. ’You geese, just you wait. Once I get you into my dimension, I’ll pick the fattest one, slaughter it, and have Ethan Monroe make a giant stew when we get back to base.’

Standing behind Flora Bloom, Irvin Holden was so shocked he was speechless. His expression could only be described as dazed.

A fat, flying mantis, vibrantly colored and with a jade-like sheen, and a giant golden cicada with a metallic luster hovered above his head, their wings creating a loud BUZZ.

A plump little white tiger stood beside him. It tried to let out a mighty "AWOO," but being so small, all that came out was a kittenish "meow."

Stranger still, two monkeys, two peacocks, and a pangolin were gathered before Flora Bloom, some scratching their heads and others chittering "SQUEAK SQUEAK SQUEAK," all looking extremely eager to please.

Most importantly, every single one of the creatures Flora Bloom had summoned was enormous. Even the smallest, the Golden Cicada, was several times larger than his head.

The sight was so shocking it made him gulp involuntarily.

Cynthia Grant had only ever seen the little white tiger before. This whole menagerie that Flora Bloom summoned now made her heart pound in her chest.

"Wow, now I get how you survived that day without a scratch while all those zombies ended up dead."

The three of them, plus Caleb, breathed a sigh of relief.

"Okay, I found a rope, and it’s pretty long," Caleb announced. "Tie it to that tree. Who’s going down to check on Old Lynch?"

"I’ll go! I’ll go down," Cynthia Grant volunteered. She was about to grab the rope and leap into the well, but she stopped at the last second.

A large white goose broke through the blockade formed by Flora Bloom’s pets and landed right on her head. It stomped down hard. If she hadn’t pulled her foot back from the well’s edge, that stomp would have sent her tumbling into it.

"What the hell? A flying goose?" Cynthia Grant shrieked. How did that goose fly over here?

But the scene that followed made not just her, but all three of them, stare wide-eyed, unsure how to react.

Flora Bloom was baffled. She had never imagined that unleashing all of her pets—besides her Behemoth—to stop a flock of geese with no superpower fluctuations would end like this.

The large white goose on Cynthia Grant’s head stomped a few times before stretching out its long neck, clamping its beak down on her hair, and yanking hard.

"Ah! You damn fat goose, I’ll kill you!" A loud struggle erupted between Cynthia Grant and the goose. Irvin Holden wanted to help but found himself surrounded by two geese of his own.

Irvin Holden’s face went pale. He stumbled backward until his back was against the well, with nowhere left to retreat.

Meanwhile, Flora Bloom was in no position to help either of them.

A large white goose suddenly flapped its wings, craned its neck, and bit down on one of the Golden Cicada’s legs. The powerful draft from its enormous wings created a small but fierce vortex that knocked Vert to the ground.

The Golden Cicada, caught in the goose’s beak, began CHITTERING at Flora Bloom for help. Vert had just bounced back to its feet when another goose pounced, pinning it to the ground. It looked like the goose’s beak was about to descend on its stomach. One peck would surely puncture Vert’s fat, bulging belly.

And that wasn’t even the worst of it.
