Chapter 160: Chapter 148: I Advise You to Change Your Metal Arms Back

No one knew what was going on tonight. Usually, at most, a few people from the civilian district would sneak in to steal food. Even when they caused a commotion, it was never this chaotic.

Those who understood the base’s power dynamics knew something major was happening when they saw several faction leaders rushing toward the main gate with their teams.

The timid retreated to their rooms to go back to sleep. But the troublemakers and gawkers, who loved a good spectacle, woke up their like-minded companions and rushed to the main gate to watch the show.

In no time, more than half of the Morhaven Safety Base’s population had gathered in front of the squat building by the main gate.

Flora Bloom’s quarantined group stood on one side, facing Seth Warren, a Second Level Gold Ability User. Between them stood Milo Warren, the man who had fled from Flora earlier. He pointed at her and shouted, "Cousin, that’s her! She’s the one who killed Fatty, Hunchback, and the others!"

"Oh?" Seth Warren turned his gloomy eyes toward Flora Bloom. But when he saw Shauna Wallace standing beside her, his eyes narrowed, and his intense focus was like that of a wild dog spotting its prey.

Wild dogs are pack hunters. They stalk their prey from the shadows, waiting for an unguarded moment to deliver the killing blow.

Shauna Wallace flinched and took a step back when she felt Seth Warren’s eyes on her. However, seeing that Flora Bloom seemed completely unfazed, she forced herself to calm down and pretended she hadn’t noticed his searing, possessive stare.

"You’re not telling me the killers were these two lovely ladies, are you?"

"It really was them, Boss."

Seth Warren’s gaze didn’t leave Shauna Wallace as he asked, "Did you kill them?"

Flora Bloom couldn’t stand it anymore. ’What’s with this guy? Are his eyes glued to Shauna Wallace’s face or something? Shauna is going to be one of my people. Seeing someone else leering at her really pisses me off.’

"Hey, are you blind? Her? A killer? She’s a woman who couldn’t hurt a fly. Are you an idiot?"

Then she raised her blood-stained axe. "Look here. I’m the one who killed them. What are you going to do about it?"

Just then, another group emerged from the base and stood beside Seth Warren. Their leader was a dark-skinned man with a fierce aura who looked like a skilled martial artist. Flora Bloom could sense a potent Earth Element superpower emanating from him.

And not just him; a man standing behind him, impeccably dressed with meticulously combed hair, also possessed a strong Earth Element superpower.

One Level 3, one Second Level.

This base was full of crouching tigers and hidden dragons. Besides those two, Seth Warren himself was a Second Level Gold Ability User, and the woman next to him, who looked remarkably like him, was a Level 1 Plant Ability User. 𝕗𝚛𝚎𝚎𝐰𝗲𝗯𝗻𝚘𝚟𝚎𝗹.𝕔𝐨𝕞

Furthermore, each of these two factions was backed by a contingent of no less than fifty people. Their combined force was immense, completely filling the space by the safety base’s main gate.

The Level 3 Earth Ability User had yet to speak a word, but he was already forming an earth prison at the feet of Flora Bloom and her companions, intending to trap them inside.

"Since you’ve admitted to killing my uncle, it’s a life for a life. Now you can die!"

Just as the earth prison was about to close, three thick earthen spikes erupted from the ground. Getting impaled by those would mean being skewered on the spot.

At that moment, the water molecules in the air began to condense rapidly, and everyone felt the air grow damp.

A five-meter-wide curtain of water suddenly surged up in front of Flora Bloom, crashing against the outer wall of the earth prison and blasting it apart.

The water curtain didn’t dissipate. It continued forward, snapping all three earthen spikes before crashing, with undiminished force, into Seth Warren, the Level 3 Earth Ability User, and everyone standing behind them.

The two groups, a force of nearly a hundred men, were left utterly disheveled by a single woman in the first moment of the confrontation.

The late autumn night air was cool. Aside from the four leading superpower users, the men behind them were all ordinary people. Soaked by Flora Bloom’s water and then hit by the chilly night wind, they instantly began to shiver uncontrollably.

"You damn bitch, you’re a Water Ability User! Are you messing with me? Brothers, get them! I refuse to believe this many of us can’t kill a few civilians." Heath Holden waved his hand, about to order his men to charge, but the man behind him held him back. "Captain, something’s wrong. Any normal person would be terrified facing our numbers. Don’t be reckless!"

Flora Bloom couldn’t have cared less what they were thinking. She looked at the furious Level 3 Earth Ability User who wanted to tear her to shreds, and then at the Second Level Gold Ability User staring at her with his gloomy eyes. Far from being afraid, her smile only grew brighter.

She turned to Shauna Wallace and asked, "Hey, that guy keeps staring at you. Doesn’t it make you sick to your stomach?"

Shauna Wallace nodded and replied seriously, "It’s absolutely disgusting!" But out of the corner of her eye, she could see that after she spoke, the man’s gaze grew even more terrifying.

"What... what did you say? You dare call me disgusting?" Seth Warren snapped. Ever since awakening his superpower, no one had ever dared to speak to him like that. His arms flashed with a metallic sheen as Gold Ability energy began to emanate from his body.

"I’ll give you one more chance," he said, gesturing toward Shauna Wallace, his eyes devoid of patience. "Come over to me now, and I’ll spare your life. How about it?"

"PFFT!" Flora Bloom sputtered, then burst into laughter. After a long moment, she stopped and gave the man with the metallic arms a peculiar look.

"I’ll give you a chance, too. You’d better change those metal arms back."

"You! Fine. Very good!" Seth Warren glared at Flora Bloom and then let out a sinister laugh. A few seconds later, he lunged at her, arms outstretched.

Flora Bloom completely ignored his charge, simply patting Xiaobai’s head with a radiant smile.

"Xiaobai, it’s your time to shine."

With a fierce, high-pitched roar from Xiaobai, a web of lightning materialized in midair, blanketing the hundred-odd people below. Tendrils of electricity slid down from the web, and upon touching someone, they would flare with brilliant light, instantly transforming into bolts of lightning that zapped the targeted individuals.

And since water conducts electricity, everyone who had been soaked became a perfect conductor. They were shocked so violently it looked like they were breakdancing.

A serpent of lightning as thick as an arm coiled above Seth Warren’s head before striking down upon him.

Everyone present who had been drenched by Flora Bloom’s water curtain began to convulse uncontrollably as the lightning tendrils made contact.

The lucky ones were shocked individually; they collapsed to the ground, exhausted and gasping for breath. But those who were standing close together triggered a chain reaction through the water, and they were shocked until they foamed at the mouth and fell unconscious.

But the one who suffered the most was Seth Warren. Although he had also been splashed, his enhanced physique as a superpower user meant a few shocks wouldn’t have been a problem. However, not only was he a Metal Element user, he was a Metal Element user who had ignored Flora Bloom’s warning.

Fortunately, his constitution was formidable, and he regained consciousness as the woman beside him dragged him back. He was awake, but his arms had lost all feeling, completely immobile.

A trace of fear now colored his gaze as he looked at Flora Bloom. He finally understood what the woman had meant earlier!

’Why didn’t she just say her little tiger could discharge electricity?!’

No one could have expected that the little tiger accompanying a Water Ability User could shoot lightning. Moreover, with everyone soaked in water, the destructive power of its electricity was shockingly widespread.
