Chapter 207: Chapter 195: The Golden Crow’s Contract

"Let me see."

Lex Cross grabbed Flora Bloom’s hand, examining it from every angle. Suddenly, the smile on his lips widened.

"I really don’t know what to say about you! Don’t worry, your luck is the best I’ve ever seen in my life. It wasn’t trying to bite you; it wants to form a contract with you."

"A contract?"

Flora Bloom paused, bewildered. "Why would it bite me to form a contract? Don’t I have my space? Can’t I just toss it in there? My space has a special brand—any creature that enters is forcibly branded to recognize me as its master!"

Lex Cross shook his head. "Even if your internal space were fully intact, you still wouldn’t be able to subdue this Golden Crow."

"The Golden Crow clan are Divine Beasts. Even if your space were complete, it would be on the same level as the egg at best. You can’t contract it."

Flora Bloom pouted noncommittally. Refusing to believe him, she tried to pull the egg into her space. To her surprise, despite her focused intent, the Golden Crow Egg that should have vanished from her arms and appeared in her space remained right where it was.

Refusing to give up, Flora Bloom tried again, but there was still no reaction. "This shouldn’t be happening. It’s how I subdued Vert and Whitey! How can a single egg be unable to enter my space?"

The moment Flora Bloom finished speaking, the egg in her arms suddenly emitted a soft red glow and trembled as if mocking her. A child’s voice, dripping with arrogance, reached their ears.

"Idiot! You want to contain me, the Lord of the Golden Crows, with that trashy space of yours? Little girl, are you right in the head?"

Startled by the voice, Flora Bloom flinched and reflexively tossed the egg away. The fiery-colored Golden Crow Egg landed in the dead water, now drained of all Fire Energy, and bobbed up and down before them.

"What the hell is this thing? It can talk?"

"FUCK! You stupid human! Do you have any idea who I am? How dare you just throw me like that? Believe it or not, I’ll incinerate you with my True Sun Fire until you’re nothing but ash, and your soul will never find peace!"

It was a young boy’s voice, and though its arrogance made one’s ears ring, hearing such words from an egg struck Flora Bloom as both bizarre and hilarious.

"Huh? Lord of the Golden Crows? True Sun Fire?" Flora Bloom was dumbfounded, staring at the egg in utter confusion.

"Hahahaha, scared stupid now that you know who I really am? If you know what’s good for you, hurry up and offer me a few liters of your blood, and I’ll deign to take you as my servant. Otherwise, I’ll show you what it feels like to be burned alive!"

"ROAR!" The childish voice let out a series of roars. With a final "ROAR!", a layer of white flame actually began to spontaneously combust on the egg’s surface.

"COUGH, COUGH, COUGH!" But the flame only lasted for three seconds before it was interrupted by a fit of coughing from the childish voice inside the egg.

’How can this be? Where’s my True Sun Fire?’

"ROAR!"

"COUGH, COUGH, COUGH, COUGH!"

’How could this happen? Why can’t I summon my True Sun Fire?’

Flora Bloom and Lex Cross glanced at each other and smiled. Flora Bloom, in particular, couldn’t hold it in and burst into belly-aching laughter. She scooped the egg, which was floating before her, back into her hands.

"Lord of the Golden Crows? True Sun Fire? Hahahaha! Do you have any self-awareness? You’re an egg!"

As she spoke, Flora Bloom tapped the eggshell with one hand and continued.

"What were you just saying? Going to burn me with True Sun Fire? Why don’t you light a little fire for me, huh? Let’s see it."

"You... You... Just wait until I regain my true form! I’ll burn your face so badly you’ll be unrecognizable, you she-devil!"

"Regain your true form? Why don’t you hatch out of this rock-hard shell first? The Thunderbird couple incubated you for a hundred years, didn’t they? You can’t even break out of your own shell, yet you have the nerve to talk so big in front of me? Believe it or not, I’ll toss you into the sea to feed the fish!"

After Flora Bloom finished speaking, the voice inside the egg fell silent. But in the next second, the young boy’s voice suddenly burst into tears.

"WAAAH! You’re a monster! The Fire Element Energy on this planet is so scarce, and I barely managed to wake up. And you still want to throw me in the sea! WAAAH! How could a woman be as mean as you!"

"Monster! Mean woman!"

Flora Bloom was so incensed she could barely breathe. She snatched up the Golden Crow Egg, wanting to hurl it as far away as possible.

But unexpectedly, just as she lifted the egg that was ruining her reputation, a sharp pain, like a needle prick, shot through her palm. Blood instantly began to pour from the wound.

Strangely, however, the blood flowing from her palm didn’t drip onto the floor of the energy shield they were in. Instead, it spread across the eggshell’s surface and was instantly absorbed!

Flora Bloom’s eyes widened in fury. "You little brat, did you ask for my permission before sucking my blood?"

"Mean woman, you think I wanted to do this?! If it wasn’t for how pure your Fire Element superpower is, I wouldn’t have even considered forming a contract with you!"

Flora Bloom tried to pull her hand back but found it was stuck fast to the eggshell, completely immobile.

Lex Cross had frowned when he heard the Golden Crow Egg declare itself the Lord of the Golden Crows. However, seeing Flora Bloom having such a good time bullying an egg, he hadn’t said much.

The lava, now drained of its Fire Element Energy, was like a pool of stagnant water. They were at the bottom, safely enveloped by the Golden Crow Egg’s shield of light, so there was no immediate danger.

A drop of golden blood emerged from within the Golden Crow Egg in Flora Bloom’s hand and shot into the center of her forehead. It was trying to force out a drop of her own vital blood to complete its contract ritual.

The Golden Crow Egg’s move was too sudden. By the time Lex Cross realized it was attempting a contract of equals, it was too late. The Golden Crow’s vital blood had already permeated Flora Bloom’s sea of consciousness, searching for her own.

"So the Golden Crow clan is this treacherous and cunning." A dense black energy enveloped Lex Cross. He approached Flora Bloom, grabbing the egg in her hand with one of his own and bringing his other hand close to the center of her forehead. Black energy flowed from his palm into her body, searching for that drop of golden blood.

When the Golden Crow inside the egg noticed Lex Cross and the familiar black energy enveloping him, the entire egg shuddered.

"Lord... Lord Cyrus Cross! I... I..."

Hearing the name the Golden Crow spoke, a dangerous glint appeared in Lex Cross’s eyes.

"You know my grandfather? Where is he?"

"Your... your grandfather? Cyrus Cross is your grandfather?" The Golden Crow’s voice sounded as if it heaved a sigh of relief. "If even you don’t know where your grandfather is, how could I?"

"Hmph! You dare try to form a contract of equals with her. If you don’t retract your vital blood at once, I will destroy it, and you will never hatch from this egg!"

Hearing Lex Cross’s threat, the Golden Crow sensed a terrifying power rapidly closing in. The drop of its vital blood inside Flora Bloom immediately tried to flee from the approaching enemy.

But just then, upon sensing the vital blood, the deep blue Crystal Stone and the red Crystal Stone in Flora Bloom’s sea of consciousness suddenly broke from their orbits and shot toward the drop of golden blood.

At the same time, the two Crystal Stones emitted a soft glow, forming a barrier of intermingling red and blue light around Flora Bloom’s sea of consciousness.

The Golden Crow drove its vital blood to smash against the barrier, only to find itself bound by it.

Seeing this, the black energy Lex Cross had sent into Flora Bloom’s sea of consciousness retreated. He breathed an internal sigh of relief. It seemed Flora Bloom would be alright, so he withdrew his power.

’It seems anything that has advanced to the level of a divine object cannot be underestimated!’

Due to the sudden surge of contractual power, Flora Bloom’s consciousness was now immersed in her own sea of consciousness. Lex Cross stood guard beside the motionless Flora Bloom, his black energy enveloping the Golden Crow Egg in her hands to prevent the Golden Crow from attempting any desperate, mutually destructive moves.

The red and blue Crystal Stones in Flora Bloom’s sea of consciousness were acting as if they were on stimulants. They latched onto the Golden Crow’s vital blood and tore at it ferociously, instantly splitting the drop of pure vital blood in half.

The deep blue Crystal Stone quickly devoured its half of the vital blood and returned to its orbit to absorb the energy contained within.

The red Crystal Stone, however, was too small. It had only managed to take a single bite of energy from its half before the rest of the vital blood escaped its grasp.

"Wh-what the hell are these things? How can they devour my vital blood? You monster, stop them! Hurry up and stop them!"
