Redemption of a Born Demon
Chapter 274 - 221: Divine Power Fruit Position, Extraordinary Undercurrents in the World (Part 1)
Yi Beidou watched Daquan Yi and his group leave, his expression as calm as still water.
On one hand, he was indeed dissatisfied with the Japanese government’s gesture. On the other, this was also a way of testing the waters.
Otherwise, he could have demanded a response from the Japanese government within the day; there was no need to grant them a three-day deadline.
He hadn’t forgotten his other objective for coming to Japan: to find the Pioneer Group’s Asian Headquarters and the Ancient One or Ones who, in all likelihood, held the highest authority within it.
He had to admit, those guys were exceptionally good at hiding. He originally thought that by causing such a massive uproar in Japan, the hidden figures wouldn’t be able to resist making a move from the shadows, but that wasn’t the case.
Even though his power had increased once again, he still couldn’t sense any unusual auras. Therefore, he had no choice but to lure the snake out of its hole.
By mentioning the Japanese Imperial Family and those "old undying bastards" just now, he was revealing his purpose. He was letting those hidden entities know that his trip wasn’t just to challenge the Japan Martial Arts Realm, but also to come for them—the old-timers.
And he was indeed deeply suspicious of the Japanese Imperial Family.
Changes in dynasties were perfectly normal throughout history, not to mention the numerous changes the current era had undergone. Yet, the Japanese Imperial Family had managed to endure for over 2,600 years, claiming to be an "unbroken line for all ages," never falling to the tides of time. He refused to believe there wasn’t something shady going on behind the scenes, or that they weren’t being protected by some of those "old undying ones."
The three days were to give the other side time to communicate and prepare. He wanted to see how they would react.
He always kept his word; he wasn’t just making empty threats.
If he heard nothing within three days, he wouldn’t mind paying a visit to the Imperial Palace.
’Although, it’s unlikely that figures of that caliber would leave any weaknesses in such a conspicuous place,’ he thought. ’But that doesn’t mean I can’t go and raise some hell.’
Meanwhile, news that the Minister of Defense had been rejected after publicly apologizing to Yi Beidou on the street spread rapidly.
"No way! An official of that rank is already high enough. Does he really expect Number One and the Emperor to apologize in person?! That’s insane! It’s completely impossible!"
"They represent the face of Japan! If figures like them personally bow their heads in public, Japan will become a laughingstock for the whole world!"
"The Great Demon King is getting a little carried away. He should have quit while he was ahead. He’s pushing this toward a fight to the death!"
"This is probably going to blow up. It won’t be resolved so easily."

It wasn’t just the Japanese People who were in an uproar; netizens from other countries who were just watching the show also jumped into the discussion.
Although Daquan Yi was an important and powerful figure in Japan, there was still a huge gap between him and Number One. The significance of them appearing was completely different.
No one could predict which way things in Japan would go.
Would one man and an entire nation officially go to war, no matter the cost? Or would the head of a nation, for the first time in history, bow his head on the street to a commoner?
「In Japan, inside Number One’s office.」
CRASH! SMASH! BANG!
Books and files were scattered all over the floor, along with the shattered fragments of numerous expensive vases and decorations.
Japan’s Number One vented his fury, beads of sweat already trickling down his forehead. Only then, under the terrified gaze of his nearby assistant, did he stop his rampage, panting heavily.
"Dammit! This is outrageous! Outrageous!"
"He wants an all-out war! An all-out war! A fight to the death!"
Number One roared, gasping for breath.
But a moment later, he was overcome with a sense of helplessness.
’If we really go to war, can we even come out on top? If we truly infuriate that man, how many of Japan’s elite will die? I could never withstand that kind of pressure.’
Just thinking about it sent a chill down his spine.
At that moment, he was absolutely furious with the person who had pushed for deploying the army, leading the situation to this point.
’So what if he has Royal Family blood? If that guy dared to stand in front of me right now, I’d chew him out!’
’Wait!’
An idea suddenly struck Japan’s Number One. He began searching through the mess on the floor and found the report folder from earlier, which contained a verbatim record of Yi Beidou’s words.
The Japanese Imperial Family, the old undying ones...
’Perhaps... his target isn’t me.’
’Why should I be the one to worry about this?’
After a moment of thought, Japan’s Number One looked at his assistant and said, "You may leave."
The assistant bowed respectfully and exited the office, closing the heavy door behind him and sealing off all sound.
Number One walked to his desk, opened a drawer, and took out an encrypted phone.
He was just about to make a call when, unexpectedly, the phone began to ring.
"Sir, this matter is beyond my ability to handle. The man’s target is your Royal Family. What do you...?"
Number One asked tentatively.
"This will be resolved in three days."
A somewhat aged voice came from the other end.
After saying this, the person on the other end hung up.
But the color returned to Number One’s face, and he seemed to have regained some confidence.
「Meanwhile.」
In Tokyo City, a tall, powerfully built Asian man and a graceful, exquisitely beautiful young white woman were walking the streets of Japan in casual clothes. They were scrolling through news on their phones about Yi Beidou rejecting Daquan Yi’s apology.
"It seems his goal in coming to Japan is indeed related to the Pioneer Group’s Asian Headquarters and the person behind it," the tall, powerful Asian man said.
His gaze was sharp. He knew many secrets hidden from ordinary people, so he naturally understood the hidden meaning in Yi Beidou’s words from that day.
This was an attempt to lure the snake out of its hole, which helped them confirm Yi Beidou’s objective.
"That person probably won’t show themselves so easily," the white woman said. "Since we’ve confirmed Yi Beidou’s objective, there’s a possibility of cooperation between us. Let’s try to make contact with him tonight. With him not hiding his whereabouts, it’s a perfect opportunity."
"Alright."
The tall Asian man nodded.
Night soon fell. Yi Beidou had no intention of hiding his movements. He wandered through the Tokyo City District, visiting various attractions and sampling local specialty foods.
Although he hadn’t "borrowed" much money from the local criminal element, he found that he rarely had to use any of it.
The Japanese government had sent a delicate, beautiful woman to accompany him, and she proactively paid for all his expenses.
In fact, many food stalls didn’t even need him to pay. "The Great Demon King’s Taste Test" had become a title that vendors vied for. They wished Yi Beidou would eat his fill at their shops, bringing them immense buzz and popularity.
Just as Yi Beidou’s appearance on a Tokyo food street was causing a sensation, in a park several kilometers away...
The tall Asian man and the white woman stood in the shadows of a Greening Forest. The woman was holding a stray cat.
The kitten rested docilely on her ample chest, letting her stroke it as she pleased and looking quite content.
"Let’s begin," the white woman said.
The tall Asian man nodded. A divine light flashed in his eyes, and a brilliant glow suddenly appeared.
The glow swirled around his body as if it were tangible, actually forming a suit of magnificent, imposing armor.
"Bind!"
The tall Asian man let out a low shout. He flicked his finger toward the surrounding trees, and streaks of light flashed upon them, taking the shape of some kind of Talisman.
As the Talismans formed, their figures in the dim Greening Forest twisted and flickered before disappearing completely. It seemed they had used some kind of Concealment Technique and Blinding Technique to mask their presence.
MEOW!
Suddenly, the image of the Void where the two had been standing shimmered slightly. A stray cat with a red dot on its forehead, like a bloody fingerprint, leaped out of the woods from thin air.
The kitten’s eyes were remarkably sharp. It looked left and right as if trying to get its bearings.
Soon, it set off with nimble steps, racing toward the food street where Yi Beidou was.
