Redemption of a Born Demon
Chapter 282 - 225: Overseas Immortal Mountain, a Divinely Crafted Immortal Abode (Part 1)
"Alright."
Yi Beidou nodded slightly.
The next moment.
BUZZZ! BUZZZ! BUZZZ!
In the Sky, chaotic stars appeared one by one. The starlight on Yi Beidou’s chest reversed, and his entire demeanor became sinister and tyrannical. The Blue-White Demon Flame enveloping his body instantly flared, and the surrounding airflow turned violent.
In an instant, the figures of both Cheng Zhihong and Yuna were enveloped in Yi Beidou’s Demon Flame.
It wasn’t just them. An area of nearly twenty meters around them was almost completely consumed by Yi Beidou’s Demon Flame.
The area covered by the Demon Flame was even larger than the Array Cheng Zhihong had specially laid out.
SIZZLE! SIZZLE! SIZZLE!
Within the Demon Flame, the light from the Talismans on the trees trembled violently before vanishing without a trace.
Just like that, the Array was broken.
Trapped within the Demon Flame, Cheng Zhihong and Yuna felt themselves enveloped by an utterly terrifying aura, and the hair on their bodies stood on end.
Facing a Yi Beidou who was truly unleashing his power, they could finally feel the full force of his overwhelming pressure.
’According to the files, this man is not even thirty. How can someone so young possess such immense power? Could he have also inherited some kind of "Fruit Position" and managed to fuse with it perfectly?’
"My Demon Flame will distort the surrounding area. Under the cover of my aura, the fluctuations you create should be negligible. Begin," Yi Beidou said coolly.
Cheng Zhihong and Yuna took a deep breath, exchanged a glance, and nodded.
BUZZ!
An emerald-green light emanated from Yuna’s body. From beneath her, vines formed of pure light spread out and coiled around the Compass.
Green Elf Fruit Position, Breath of Nature!
Meanwhile, Cheng Zhihong let out a low shout. The Light Divine Armor condensed on his body suddenly expanded, transforming into a Mighty Divine General. It formed a Seal Technique with its hands and pointed toward the Compass.
Giant Might Spirit Official Fruit Position, Divine Dao Seal!
Two streams of Magnetic Force converged on the Compass. The Array activated, and the crimson threads began to glow faintly as the Compass’s needle started to tremble slightly.
This Compass used the fragment of flesh and blood at its center as a core. By activating the Array with Magnetic Force, it could amplify the aura contained within the flesh. The Compass would then point in the right direction, a type of Magical Technique and Divine Power for finding people and objects.
Yi Beidou watched from the side as the two executed their Divine Powers, the interest in his eyes growing more intense.
The power generated by the "Fruit Positions" in their bodies was even stronger than their own Life Magnetic Fields.
With Yi Beidou’s current insight, he could discern the true nature of many Divine Techniques at a single glance, understanding their methods and principles. Yet, he was completely unable to see through the principles behind the system these two cultivated.
There was only one possibility.
The fundamental nature of this method probably far surpassed his current realm of attainment.
This technique likely had a profound origin.
Unfortunately, while the fundamental nature of Cheng Zhihong’s and Yuna’s techniques was extremely high, the power they could actually wield was only average. The Compass’s needle trembled, but it couldn’t point in a clear direction.
"Mr. Yi, it’s up to you now," Cheng Zhihong said to Yi Beidou.
Yi Beidou nodded slightly, leaned down, and placed a hand on the Compass.
The next moment.
WHOOSH!
The Demon Flame flared, and the Magnetic Force churned the surrounding air, making Cheng Zhihong and Yuna feel as if a gale were blowing in their faces. Their hair was blasted upward toward the sky.
WHIRRR!
The Compass needle, which had only been trembling slightly, now began to spin relentlessly, just like a fan.
But even so, it still failed to indicate a precise direction.
Of course, Yi Beidou wasn’t relying on the Compass and the Array. He was using his own Celestial Demon Sensing, but he couldn’t find a lead either.
After all, this was the flesh and blood of the man code-named "Alchemist" from a past life; there was bound to be some imprecision.
’Celestial Demon Sensing isn’t enough. Time to add the Power of Tribulation.’
BUZZ!
Before the horrified gazes of Cheng Zhihong and Yuna, a crimson star radiating an intensely ominous aura drifted out from Yi Beidou’s body. The calamitous Power of Tribulation condensed upon it made the hair on their bodies stand on end once again.
The terrifying aura of calamity made them feel as if their own doom was imminent and inescapable.
Cultivators did everything they could to avoid calamity, yet this man had actually condensed such an intense power of calamity within his body.
’No wonder he was able to use Tribulation to pinpoint their location not long ago.’
As the Tribulation Star manifested, crimson threads coiled around the Compass. The needle’s rotation began to slow, but it didn’t stop completely.
’Then...’
BUZZ!
A second Tribulation Star manifested from within Yi Beidou. This time, even his Demon Flame began to be stained a faint red by the bloody light radiating from the star.
The Compass needle’s rotation slowed again, almost becoming a tick-like jump, and it now only moved back and forth within a single quadrant.
’We’re close!’
Cheng Zhihong and Yuna’s expressions brightened. But while they were close, if they couldn’t get the Compass needle to stabilize, they couldn’t consider the location locked.
A quarter of the Compass represented a search area covering a quarter of the Earth—a prospect even more absurd than finding a needle in a haystack.
Only when the needle was completely stable could they use it to precisely pinpoint the target’s location.
In Yi Beidou’s perception, he was already very close to the target, but it was as if a thin film still separated them, one he couldn’t quite pierce. 𝕗𝚛𝚎𝚎𝐰𝗲𝗯𝗻𝚘𝚟𝚎𝗹.𝕔𝐨𝕞
The flesh of a past life could not easily lock onto the body of the present.
"Then, adding an item from your current life should be enough," Yi Beidou said softly.
The next moment.
Yi Beidou flipped his palm, and a Jade Pendant appeared in his hand.
It was the Breath-Concealing Jade Pendant taken from Yao Lingfeng. If Yi Beidou’s guess was correct, this Jade Pendant should have been crafted by the "Alchemist."
Past life and present life were now gathered together.
Yi Beidou pressed the Jade Pendant onto the Compass.
Instantly, the Compass shook violently. The Tribulation Stars blazed, their bloody light flaring like a torch. The Compass’s trembling needle abruptly froze, pointing due east.
BOOM!
In that same instant, Yi Beidou’s perception—a blend of the Celestial Demon’s power and the Power of Tribulation—broke through the hazy mist, and a surreal vision flashed before his eyes.
Hazy clouds and mist swirled, wreathed in iridescent glows and rainbow light. Mountains were hidden within the clouds and glowing haze, a place where Immortals and Deities might dwell.
The scene seemed entirely otherworldly.
Even Yi Beidou was slightly shaken upon seeing a scene straight out of legend.
The vision vanished from Yi Beidou’s mind as quickly as it had appeared, but the connection through Tribulation had been established. It would not be so easily severed.
"Did it work?!"
Cheng Zhihong and Yuna took a sharp breath, their eyes fixed on the motionless needle of the Compass.
"It worked. I’ve pinpointed his location. He has no escape from this tribulation."
Yi Beidou looked to the east.
"Where is he?" Cheng Zhihong asked.
"At sea," Yi Beidou replied.
「Meanwhile.」
Out on the vast ocean, shrouded by a hazy glow, a fishing boat sat motionless on the water.
The massive carcass of a Wagyu cow lay on the boat’s deck. A figure was currently crouched beside it, seemingly drawing something on the cow’s body.
It appeared to be a Talisman pattern drawn with a bright red, blood-like substance, and it gave off a deeply mysterious air.
This figure was none other than the young man with glasses who had once appeared in Tokyo.
SPLASH! SPLASH!
The sea swelled and fell, rocking the fishing boat up and down. Beneath the surface, enormous shadows seemed to be swimming.
Suddenly, the "Alchemist," who was in the middle of drawing the Talisman, looked up toward the infinite heights of the Sky.
He seemed to see a crimson thread, one that looked as if it could snap at any moment, passing through the Void and coiling around his body.
"So, they really found me. Tribulation... oh, Tribulation. Truly difficult to escape. Even here in this Secret Realm, I can still be sensed by that person. I fear the world is about to fall into chaos."
The Alchemist spoke with a sigh, though he didn’t seem particularly surprised. Instead, he lowered his head and continued drawing the Talisman on the cow.
Soon, the Talisman was complete.
He grabbed a leg, and with a heave, he threw the several-hundred-kilogram cow dozens of meters out to sea as if it were a mere sandbag.
The next moment.
SPLASH! SPLASH!
The sea churned, and a massive shadow shot toward the spot where the Wagyu cow was falling.
The cow’s body hadn’t even hit the water yet.
Suddenly, the seawater exploded. A colossal creature shot out from the erupting waves and swallowed the Wagyu cow in a single gulp.
Then the shadow sank beneath the surface and vanished.
The sea grew calm once more.
"Fortune and misfortune are intertwined. Perhaps this Tribulation is also an opportunity?" the Alchemist muttered to himself.
