Redemption of a Born Demon
Chapter 403 - 283: A Vision in the Sky: The Eye of Omniscience Shocks the World
The Eye of the Sun was an entity capable of contending with Lotus. Though he was at a disadvantage, he was still a powerful being, nearly on par with the Sleepers. Otherwise, he would never have been qualified to preside over an internal meeting of the Illuminati.
Now, he had activated his Immortal Soul and opened his true Divine Eye of flesh and blood—a unique, specialized organ. His entire aura became astonishingly formidable.
That indifferent, horizontal eye possessed a quality like the sun itself, making it impossible to look at directly.
The Eye of the Sun raised his head, his gaze piercing through all obstacles to shoot straight into the Sky above.
「In Constantinople.」
It was the height of tourist season. Constantinople’s weather was pleasant, and although tensions had been rising in the Mediterranean Region recently, this hadn’t deterred visitors. On the contrary, many people came specifically because of it.
"Look! What’s that in the sky?!"
Suddenly, a cry of alarm rang out from the street. Someone pointed in shock toward the Sky, drawing everyone’s attention.
"Something’s appearing in the clouds! Is that... a... a pyramid?!"
"Oh my God! Have alien spaceships landed on Earth?"
"What in the world is that?!"
"..."
Cries of shock echoed from all over Constantinople.
Pedestrians on the streets stopped in their tracks and looked up. Even many drivers were captivated by the strange phenomenon in the Sky. In their moments of distraction, the rate of traffic accidents throughout Constantinople instantly soared to a terrifying level.
A shocking sight appeared in the Sky.
A golden light emerged from within the clouds, revealing the shape of an object.
It appeared to be a pyramid floating in the air.
Since ancient times, pyramids have been imbued with an air of mystery. Some say they are signal towers for transmitting messages into outer space; others claim they are anchors and markers left on Earth by aliens.
And now, a pyramid had appeared over Constantinople, inevitably sparking all sorts of speculation.
However, the pyramid’s appearance was only the beginning.
Shortly after, as the pyramid fully emerged from the clouds, a fissure split open on its surface, and a huge, indifferent, horizontal eye abruptly opened.
The moment this horizontal eye appeared, even the light of the sun seemed to dim.
The people who witnessed this eye in the Sky felt an involuntary tremor run through them. Their legs trembled, and they felt an instinctual urge to kneel in devout worship.
Many felt their scalps tingle as if a jolt of electricity had shot through their bodies, their minds going completely blank.
"Dammit! What the hell is that thing?!"
The mayor of Constantinople rushed to the rooftop of the city hall, staring at the scene in the Sky in disbelief. Beside him, a staff member raised a pair of binoculars toward the floating pyramid-eye, apparently trying to determine what it was.
AHHH!!
But the next moment, the staff member shrieked. The piercing cry made everyone around him jump. The binoculars slipped from his hands and clattered to the ground.
Everyone looked at the staff member. He was kneeling on the ground, clutching his eyes in agony as blood seemed to seep from between his fingers. The sight struck terror into their hearts.
’He ended up like this just from one look through a pair of binoculars?!’
’Could that thing in the Sky really be an alien spacecraft?’
"Look, it’s our planes!! The air force has been deployed!!"
Someone shouted, pointing to a spot in the Sky.
Everyone looked and saw several fighter jets rapidly approaching. They seemed to be trying to get a closer look at whatever was in the Sky to determine if it was real or an illusion, like a mirage.
"The eyeball is moving! That thing’s eyeball is moving!!"
Just then, the crowd saw the pupil of the strange phenomenon in the Sky turn. It seemed to have noticed the approaching fighter jets and shifted its gaze toward them.
Then, under everyone’s watchful eyes, the flight paths of the fighter jets became chaotic. They flew erratically before plummeting toward the ground.
BOOM! BOOM! BOOM!
The fighter jets crashed into the ground, exploding in various parts of the city. The thunderous booms shook the heavens as fireballs shot upward and thick smoke spread across the sky. Many citizens near the crash sites were caught in the blasts, resulting in a number of casualties.
At this, the crowd, which had been watching the spectacle, immediately panicked. Screams and shouts erupted from all corners of the city, which was instantly plunged into chaos and fear.
Some yelled, "The aliens are invading!" while others shouted, "It’s a terrorist attack!" People scattered, running for cover in shelters.
"Oh God, oh God! Get me the air force command center, now! What is going on?!"
The mayor of Constantinople exclaimed, trembling all over while repeatedly making the sign of the cross on his chest.
However, before he could get any answers, he received a call from the military.
"Mr. Mayor, we just dispatched three fighter jets to investigate the phenomenon in the Sky. However, as they approached within a twenty-kilometer radius of it, their mental states suddenly became abnormal. They fell into a state of extreme fear and tension. But before they lost control, the monitoring equipment on the planes transmitted a crucial piece of intelligence: that thing in the Sky isn’t real. It’s a hyper-realistic illusion, like a mirage! It seems to be composed of an extremely large magnetic field capable of producing a terrifying effect. We suspect this is likely related to the recent tensions in the Mediterranean Region."
"Please begin your preparations as soon as possible."
After saying this, the air force representative hurriedly hung up, presumably to report to other authorities and discuss how to handle the situation.
