Reincarnated as a Supernatural Horror Entity
301 - The Artifacts and Spellcards
Jack observed the next artifact. It was a wooden goblet. It looked simple. Its runic inscriptions were tiny and almost invisible. But it pulsed with a faint, verdant glow under Jack's enhanced vision.
[Name: Grail of Prosperity]
[Grade: Legendary]
[Status: Unbound]
[Durability: Indestructible]
[Special Ability: Growth Acceleration, Recovery Acceleration, Divine Infusion]
[Description: A sacred chalice, the lost relic of the Church of Prosperity. It imbues any plain water placed within it with the power of accelerated growth that can, when it is used to water plants, significantly increase their quality and growth speed. When milk is placed within it, it will be imbued with the power of accelerated recovery that can significantly increase the health recovery speed of the one who drinks it. When alcohol is placed inside, it will automatically turn into holy water.]
Jack held the goblet. Feeling a gentle and subtle divine warmth emanate from it. "Grail of Posperity, huh?" He mused.
This was a legendary artifact. Accelerated growth, accelerated recovery, and divine infusion. All the three abilities were incredible.
The problem was that... it was a relic from the Church of Prosperity. If he wanted to keep it, it would have to be used secretly. Probably only within the Mirror Mansion. Or, the church might detect it and give him a lot of trouble.
Jack put the grail back to the table. He focused his appraisal on a small, intricately carved urn. It was dark as night, with unsettling symbols etched into its surface. He could sense a faint, cold aura emanating from it.
[Name: Unholy Urn]
[Grade: Epic]
[Status: Unbound]
[Durability: Extremely Tough (75%)]
[Special Ability: Soul Trap, Unholy Fire Creation]
[Description: A relic from a dark cult. Designed to collect and contain the souls of the dead. It will process the souls to create a corrosive, soul-rending cold fire that can harm the souls of living beings and can temper weapons with negative energy.]
Jack felt a prickle of unease as he examined the urn. Its aura was distinctly malevolent, even to his seasoned senses.
"Soul Trap, Unholy Fire. It's almost the opposite of the grail." He noted.
A flicker of wariness appeared in his eyes. It could be a valuable tool, despite its dark origins. Unholy fire could be tactically useful.
But using souls to create it was not within his tolerance. For him, killing was alright for certain circumstances. But destroying souls, not allowing it to either return to the origin or be reincarnated... that, for most situations, would be too excessive.
Next was a simple, silver necklace with a small, unadorned pendant. It felt surprisingly warm to the touch.
[Name: Fire Immunity Necklace]
[Grade: Rare]
[Status: Unbound]
[Durability: Sturdy (97%)]
[Special Ability: Fire Immunity, Flame Absorption]
[Description: A protective adornment enchanted with elemental resistance. It grants the wearer an immunity to common types of flames and can absorb a limited amount of ambient heat or magical fire to temporarily strengthen the user.]
"Fire immunity and flame absorption. Useful." Jack commented.
Those ability were indeed simple, straightforward, and effective. Unremarkable in a world of epic artifacts, but they were undeniably useful. The immunity could turn the tide in a specific situation. Especially when facing fire elemental sorcerers, fire breathing monsters, or navigating certain types of environments. It was an elevated basic survival gear.
Jack then turned his attention to a thick, ancient scroll. Bound with a wax seal. It was...
[Name: Great Sanctuary Scroll]
[Grade: Extremely Rare]
[Status: Unbound]
[Durability: Consumable]
[Special Ability: Area of Effect Protection, Negative Energy Repulsion]
[Description: A powerful defensive scroll scribed by an expert array wright. When activated, it creates a temporary, but potent, field of protective energy that all types of physical attacks and hostile magic, particularly effective against corrupted magic, eldritch energy, and necromancy.]
"A consumable scroll?" Jack observed.
His gaze traced the delicate, arcane script on the seal. It was a single-use item. But an area-of-effect protective field could be invaluable as a last resort. Especially one that repelled negative energy.
It was a powerful tool for survival. It needed to be used wisely though. Offering a moment of absolute safety in the face of overwhelming odds was an extremely precious thing to have.

Finally, Jack looked at the last artifact. A small, round buckler. Made of dark, polished metal. It had a mirror-like surface on its face.
[Name: Buckler of Retribution]
[Grade: Epic]
[Status: Unbound]
[Durability: Extremely Tough (95%)]
[Special Ability: Projectile Redirection, Spell Reflection] π§πππππ«π·π€πΏππ‘.ππ€πΆ
[Description: A mystical shield crafted by a forgotten order of mystic knights. Its highly polished surface is not merely reflective, but it is imbued with potent counter-magic, capable of catching and returning incoming projectiles and even most single target spells to their origin.]
Jack nodded slowly. His eyes were fixed on the buckler's reflective surface. Projectile redirection and single-target spell reflection. This was a classic defensive artifact. But it was an extremely potent one. Against magical opponents, it could be a game-changer. Turning a foe's power against them. Making their own attacks their undoing.
"An excellent haul!" Jack declared. His voice carried the weight of his assessment. "Now, let me show you something interesting. Most of you know me as a steamrune engineer and a shape-shifting primal sorcerer. But, in my past adventure, I did acquire another power class."
Jack flexed his fingers. "In normal situations, this class is useless. But, when I encounter a worthy enough treasure, that's when it plays things differently."
He had considered and decided that sharing his secondary power class to his crew would be fine. And it wouldn't give him too much trouble. Thus, he focused his mystic energy and activated the Treasure Hunter's innate power.
Then, he began with touching the [Arch-thief Seal]. He felt the complex magical mechanisms of the artifacts resonate within him. Extracting the inspiration of its magical properties.
An intricately drawn card suddenly materialized in the air. Shimmering, spinning, and hovering in front of him. It had a classic painting of a stamp and an eye above it.
Jack immediately called upon his [Eyes of Judgment] again and focused on the card...
[Spell Card: Trap Detection]
[Type: Clairvoyance]
[Effect: Imbues the caster's eyes with the ability to see any type of traps, indicating them with glowing red color.]
[Requirement: Usable by any transcendent. Caster must possess a minimum Mysticism of 10.]
[Maximum Duration: 10 minutes]
[Cooldown: 5 minutes per use]
"Trap Detection Spell. Basic, but fundamentally useful." Jack acknowledged.
"Wait, Captain!" Baroness Artheim immediately interrupted. "Generating a spellcard from an artifact. You are a real... Treasure Hunter?"
"Correct!" Jack admitted. "I acquired an opportunity to acquire this class some time ago."
"True Treasure Hunter? Really?" Leon's eyes turned bright with excitement. "I thought the class has been extinct now. I want that too. How would you get it?"
"A one-time-use scroll." Jack lied easily. It was easier that way than telling them that he had a system that provided him that class.
"Oh, man..." Leon sighed dejectedly.
"Just keep your eyes open." Jack chuckled. "Who knows what we will find in Myriad Island Archipelago? I've read that the greatest number of treasure hunters seem to gathered there during the early Exploration Age."
Ignoring Leon, he slid the card into his [Spatial Belt].
Next, he turned to the [Camouflage Cloak]. He activated his Treasure Hunter power again and generated another spellcard. It was...
[Spell Card: Great Camouflage]
[Type: Illusion]
[Effect: Grants the caster and up to three allies within arm's reach a powerful illusion of perfect blending with their environment. Their light, sound, and heat signatures are suppressed, making them extremely difficult to detect.]
[Requirement: Usable by any transcendent. Caster must possess a minimum Mysticism of 15.]
[Maximum Duration: 15 minutes]
[Cooldown: 5 minutes per use]
"It's more potent than I've expected." Jack noted after examining the card.
The ability to affect multiple allies made it incredibly valuable for group stealth missions. Allowing a small strike team to vanish even in plain sight.
He then concentrated on the [Grail of Prosperity]. Another tarot-like spellcard appeared. It was...
[Spell Card: Growth Enhancement]
[Type: Blessing]
[Effect: Targets a single living plant only. Causes a significant accelerated growth in the target and subtly enhances the target's quality.]
[Requirement: Usable by any transcendent. Caster must possess a minimum Mysticism of 30.]
[Maximum Duration: 24 hours]
[Cooldown: 6 hours per use]
"Nice!" Jack remarked.
It was not that exaggerated. But when it was combined with the growth liquid created by the grail artifact, it could be very useful. He envisioned using this to rapidly grow rare plants in his Mirror Mansion's orchard. Producing various ingredients for alchemical processes should be much easier with this.
It was definitely a great supportive spell. As for how much it could accelerate and improve the target plant, he needed to make some experiments later.
Jack focused his attention to the next artifact. The [Unholy Urn] presented a different challenge. He didn't want the soul-trapping power. But the unholy fire should be acceptable, as long as he didn't need to use soul to acquire it.
He carefully focused his desire on that aspect. Avoiding the darker, more terrible soul trap ability. And the result was...
[Spell Card: Unholy Fire]
[Type: Necromancy]
[Effect: Summons a concentrated burst of cold, corrosive, and soul rending black flame imbued with negative energy. The fire can be used for smith-craft, tempering a weapon or for direct attack.]
[Requirement: Usable by any transcendent. Caster must possess a minimum Mysticism of 60.]
[Maximum Duration: 7 hours]
[Cooldown: 12 hours per use]
Jack studied the card. "Unholy Fire!" He read aloud.
It didn't require soul sacrifice to use. Nice. He approved it. It was a clean spell derived from an otherwise unsettling artifact.
