Reincarnation of the Strongest Healer
Chapter 1452: The Retaliation Part 3
"Phew, good thing I escaped fast." Carmen wiped off the invisible sweat from her forehead. She couldn’t help it and gave a few teasing remarks to her friend, Veronica.
"This is definitely Feng’s fault. His bad influence affected me."
She decided to shift the blame to Xu Feng. After all, it wasn’t the first time he got wrongfully blamed anyway. Might as well add another one to the list.
Who would notice it?
Of course, Xu Feng could argue otherwise, but who in their right mind would believe him?
Almost every player stationed around the Vanguard Guild’s sphere of influence knew how despicable and shrewd Xu Feng was as a Guild Leader.
’Whoops, got to stop thinking badly about him.’ She hurriedly shook her head. Whether it was a phenomenon or not, Xu Feng seemed to sneeze whenever his sixth sense detected that someone was talking badly about them.
Therefore, she couldn’t afford such a risk because of how obvious the culprit was.
"Let’s get started."
Sometime later, Carmen donned a mask and soared to the sky with her aura unleashed.
She then dropped the incense in a boastful manner, shocking the nearby crowd. Within the crowd, there weren’t just NPCs but players as well who were startled by the person.
"What is that person doing?"
"What did they even drop? An incense?"
Many confused and doubtful expressions appeared on their faces.
After all, they were exuding a Tier 2 power aura, so it was kind of hard to not be attracted to the ordeal.
And because of how abrupt the action was, the players didn’t think it was another player, but an NPC.
Or more specifically, a sudden event!
Feeling excited, some of the players began recording the scene, clearly wanting to be the exclusive poster.
"Haha, it’s finally my turn to shine."
"If I record the video and edit it well, then I’ll finally get an offer from those top guilds."
It was common knowledge that the luckiest players to encounter a sudden event first-hand would gain an advantage over others.
There were some cases where players were directly approached by these NPCs, who gave them a unique mission.
Although some of these unique missions were shared, the rewards still varied depending on the contribution made by each individual.
’Hmm, I’m an NPC?’ Carmen was taken aback by the player’s reaction. But nevertheless, she soon curled her lips upward. ’Hehe, I guessed I’m an NPC now.’
Since these players were mistaken about her identity because of the pressure and aura she exuded, she couldn’t possibly shatter their dreams and hopes, right? She was not that heartless and was, in fact, a lovely angel.
With that in mind, Carmen needed to change her dialogue.
"I am the Void Force Embassy, Melissa. Numon City has committed treachery against humanity! I hereby decree Numon City as guilty, and the incense on the ground will be the time allocated to anyone residing in the city to leave!" She declared solemnly.
The crowd was astonished by the statement.
Void Force Embassy, Melissa?
Nobody recognized the organization or the name, but it didn’t stop the players from feeling awe.
After all, such a cringeworthy dialogue was totally in line with the classic NPC statement when revealing a sudden event.
"Hahaha, it really is a sudden event!"
"Void Force Embassy? This has to be a new revelation of an organization in the Divine World, and we’re the first to know about it."
"Melissa... we’ll need to investigate everything about this name. We’re finally going to be ahead of others."
While the players were excited, with little to no care about the degree of the statement, the same could not be said for the NPCs.
"Who are you and how dare you slander our Numon City?" A middle-aged man roared in fury. "I’ve been living in Numon City all my life, and we have always abided by the laws."
"Hmph, how dare someone with an unknown origin just barge in and throw such a critical accusation!"
Soon, a chain of effects erupted, with many cursing and throwing slurs at Carmen.
This was their city!
To receive such an accusation was equivalent to labeling themselves as traitors of humanity?
No sane person would ever accept such a claim, even if they were indeed guilty.
’Hah, when your city lord clamors to accuse our Guild Leader, I don’t see this kind of reaction.’ Carmen sneered inwardly. She might have never shown it, but her anger was palpable when she received the news that Xu Feng was accused of betraying humanity.
And even though Xu Feng never voiced his displeasure or anger, she could tell he was fuming.
Shortly after her exclamation, many NPC law enforcement officers arrived at the scene.
A few of them then soared to the sky and demanded that Carmen get down to the ground.
"Get down here, Intruder!" One fierce-looking man exuded his powerful presence, their hand unsheathing the sword as they pointed at her.
The silver lining of the sword glinted in a cold light, threatening to slice them down.
"Intruder?" Carmen snickered coldly. She waved her hand, and like the action of swatting a fly, the swordsman guard was sent flying away through the Void Portal.
When the swordsman guard saw their position again, they were on the ground.
"Good intruder. Stay down on the ground." Carmen mused and practically addressed them as a good boy.
Instantly, the swordsman NPC’s face turned beet red from embarrassment and humiliation. He hadn’t even gotten a chance to make a move when the opponent had already forcefully shifted him to the ground.
Moreover, they could clearly sense the power of the void being used.
Void Force Embassy... just where in the world did they pop up from?
How come they had never heard of such an organization before?
While the swordsman NPC was utterly in confusion, the players were agitated. This trivial interaction between the two was witnessed and recorded.
In their mind, this Void Force Embassy was definitely a key feature in this second major update of the Divine World.
