Reincarnation of the Strongest Healer
Chapter 1472: Bardmon City Part 2
While Xu Feng made up his mind to contact the Blue Wolves first to check on the situation, back at Razor Nightmare Guild Residence, Edgar finally received the information.
"What the hell is this?" Edgar smacked his palm on the table.
"We’ve reported him for treason, but the NPC court decided to give this kind of crappy verdict?"
His eyes glared at a subordinate who delivered this news to him.
How was it possible that a supposed suspect in the crime of treason suddenly received such an important role that it determined a city’s survival?
Make it make sense, please!!!!
The subordinate smiled bitterly as well. "The nobles who supposedly backed us had turned mute from the verdict. When our people tried to visit them to inquire why, they were directly detained."
"Hahaha!" Edgar laughed sarcastically as he leaned back on his chair. "Those useless nobles really deserve to die!"
A duke?
What was a duke if they could only stay as a mute in front of a judge’s decision?
Just what kind of duke were they?
A puppet one or a pawn one who was just there in the rank only?
"FUCK FUCK FUCK!" Edgar was beyond frustrated when he realized his worst nightmare had come true.
The numerous preparations he had made to prevent the Vanguard Guild from being able to retaliate were all rendered useless.
Not only was the Vanguard Guild Leader not persecuted by the NPCs, but he was now protected by the NPCs.
"He’s now sitting at the goddamn city hall, which we kept trying to get a seat at. He just came out of nowhere and swept us all down the mud!" He was slowly losing his cool and composure.
Just how perverse was the method of the Vanguard Guild?
’Wait a second, could this be a move from Eclipse Nova?’ After calming down, Edgar began to ponder whether their true target had already made a counterattack.
After all, it only made sense if this kind of elusive yet explosive moves were made by Eclipse Nova.
Otherwise, how could there be no signs or warnings until shit hit the fan?
"Right... This is definitely the work of Eclipse Nova. He must have been in the court somewhere and influenced the Judge." While Edgar believed he had figured things out, he was frustrated when the subordinate was still standing there like a dork.
"Fuck are you waiting for? Go and investigate every player in the court at the time! Check all the recordings!" He roared thunderously.
"Y-Yes, Young Master!" The subordinate sweated profusely and hurriedly left the room to start an intensive investigation.
Once they left, Edgar felt his head aching terribly.
"Could the situation be any worse?" He rubbed his temples. Everything was supposed to be under his control.
No, it was a fact that everything was operating normally until now.
Those useless subordinates of his that earned ridiculous high pay couldn’t even do a simple task, and should be punished.
What in the world were they doing to commit such a grave mistake that now jeopardized everything he had planned?
"Reporting!!!"
"What now?"
Edgar’s expression dropped when another one of his subordinates entered the room with a panicking attitude.
And sure enough, the news they brought made Edgar feel like he had swallowed a mouthful of maggots.
"That Vanguard Guild Leader could command the NPC officials and summon the Blue Wolves into the City Hall."
It was like a fuse had gone off; Edgar finally imploded.
"Damn it, damn it, damn it all!!!!" He raged and began kicking things left and right.
Although he also qualified to enter the City Hall, it was never truly in the deep interior.
High noble?
More like an empty title only!
"I’ve donated and contributed so much to the city, but the rapport with the City Magistrate has barely increased. Just what is wrong with him?" Edgar couldn’t comprehend the situation.
"What are you still doing here? Go and investigate the Blue Wolves! How did they even have ties with the Vanguard Guild?"
The subordinate felt wronged because there really hadn’t been any movement from Blue Wolves.
Their guild wasn’t large in number, so it was relatively easy to spy on them.
Unless they made contact offline, there really wasn’t anything else that could tie the two together.
’Ugh, it’s barely been half an hour, and the Vanguard Guild Leader has already caused us to be in shambles.’ The subordinate was also frustrated by the circumstances.
They were a Super Guild for heaven’s sake!!!
An upstart guild managed to rise exponentially and even began a threat to them, which was an unprecedented event.
As the subordinate scrambled away to deploy more people to gather information, news was slowly starting to spread in the Game Forum.
[Changes in Bardmon City! Vanguard Guild invaded!!!]
[Uphavel in Razor Nightmare! Blue Wolves get invited to City Hall!]
[The Overlord of Bardmon City is changing!!! Could Super Guild, Razor Nightmare, defend the invasion from Vanguard Guild?]
All sorts of posts were being updated by numerous players and hitting the trending news almost instantaneously.
This was a Super Guild in discussion!
It was only natural to garner lots of scrutiny.
When Edgar browsed through the Game Forum post and read many comments saying the Vanguard Guild was after his head, he directly closed the system prompt in fury.
"These damn bastards actually think I’m the one cornered?" He gnashed his teeth.
What was the big deal of sitting in the City Hall?
Could he possibly disregard all the laws and incriminate him with a false crime?
Despite thinking so, Edgar was somewhat emotional.
How hard had he been trying to command the NPCs in this city? 𝘧𝓇ℯ𝑒𝓌𝑒𝑏𝓃𝘰𝘷𝘦𝘭.𝒸ℴ𝓂
Yet they had all given him the cold shoulder.
’What the hell did Lin Feng do to these NPCs??’ Edgar was beyond annoyed.
This disparity alone would become evidence for many to use against him, stating that he was inferior to a mere upstart guild leader.
As Edgar’s emotional distress continued to rise, back at the City Hall, Blue Wolves representatives met up with Xu Feng.
Their expressions were filled with confusion.
"Welcome, representatives of Blue Wolves." Xu Feng smiled amiably at their arrival.
